The reason is that the industry has become so saturated and commercial, that companies only invest in the largest demographic - 14 year old girls. Gradually pop stars have gotten younger and younger, untill we have kids like justin beiber, with little soul or talent, but the masses will buy his stuff anyway. There is talent out there like Craig, but it won't be seen in the charts any more.
