this is ridiculous. Jesus didnt say "Please Repent", He said "Repent!" Its these kinds of ministries that make ppl think theyre doing God a favor by praying some prayer. Ps 5:5 & Ps. 7:11. God hates the wicked, and is angry with them everyday. When we preach, ppl must get the truth that God is perfect. And in perfection, there is diversity in union (trinity). Not only love, but hate. Not only grace and mercy, but justice and punishment.
the guy practically pushed it into their hands... they didn't "take it"... and if they had "taken" it, sooooooooooooooooooo what!? what does that mean???
this type of argument is flawed (your a sinner god is pathway to heaven) it's fooling a mechanism we all have in our brains EVADE PUNISHMENT. however in religion it's infinite punishment. and if you say your going to a hell and people are convinced then you trigger a reaction to avoid punishment. if you make the punishment infinite then people will do any amount of finite things.
Christianity, The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you eat his flesh, drink his blood and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree....
What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain? If yes, then you broke God's law(you shall not lie, steal, etc.)written on your heart. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent God His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus's death for sins, His burial & resurrection)you'll not perish & have eternal life!
@JLifter Everything is observed by it's effect. I see this ball in front of me because light bounces off it and gets translated into an image by my eye and brain. I don't see the ball; I see the effect the ball has on what I perceive as reality. This is all very irrelevant, though.
When you show me an effect that could only be God-created, then I will believe you that God created it.
@JLifter Okay, here's what you're missing. Here's how an atheist (with no qualifiers) answers these questions:
"Do you believe there are gods?"
"No."
"Do you believe there are not gods?"
"No."
You cannot reword the LACK of something to be the thing it is a lack of. If you are not holding an apple, that doesn't mean you are holding an anti-apple.
And, by the way, an agnostic is just someone who lacks knowledge of existence of gods. I'm an agnostic atheist.
Is he somehow implying that these actors think think that some random yahoo in the crowd just happens to have two million dollars in cash on him, and he wants to give them half for apparantly no reason?
@Antifides He sent His Son (which is also God as they are ONE being) to die for you. That is what He did, God came as a man and was physically tortured to death for you. It is then your choice to accept this.
This is what He has done to prevent it. If that is nothing then I don't know what something is.
@JLifter Yes, that is nothing. He wants me to not go to hell, but instead of preventing me from going to hell, he expects me to accept a ridiculous fairy tale for which there is not one whit of evidence, and then he'll prevent me from going to hell. An omnipotent God, if he wanted me to not go to hell, would simply not send me to hell. That's how all-powerful works. He can do whatever he wants, yet he wants me to not go to hell, yet I'll still go to hell. And he does nothing to prevent it.
@Antifides So dieing for all mankind is nothing? Okay.
There is evidence, just because some atheist tells you there isn't doesn't mean it's true. But believe whatever your atheist books tell you to believe. Don't bother reading anything from a Christians perspective because you may learn something new. You like others act as if we deserve to go to Heaven, we don't. Why do we deserve to go? God has given us free will to decide. It's your choice.
@JLifter I don't read atheist books. I know there's no evidence and no sustainable argument for gods, because no Christian has ever supplied any. Some of them actually try, and I point out why it's flawed. Others, like you, just claim that the evidence and logic exists, yet somehow can't seem to provide it.
@JLifter If God didn't want me to go to hell, he wouldn't send me there. No loopholes in his own laws required. He would just say, okay, no hell for you, and it would be so. He's omnipotent, remember? The only thing that can stop him, is him, his choice. He chose for me to go to hell. Therefore, he is responsible, and no one else. Of course, I don't believe in him, but that's the only thing that makes sense if you do believe.
@Antifides As I already said the existence of matter, emotions, thought and questioning ones existence is evidence of God. Agree with me or not that is your choice.
We were not 'born atheist' as you claim. We were born without yet knowing. We did not have a belief yet because we were too young and didn't have the information or the thought to make that choice.
No you cannot provide irrefutable evidence that God exists but neither can you provide any that He doesn't.
@Antifides An atheist is someone who has willfully made the choice not to believe in God. I can already see that you willfully decide to ignore the evidence and logic for the existence of God. You write it off because you want to believe that God does not exist. You may point out that it is flawed but that doesn't mean that you are correct. It only means that you have a subjective opinion on that logic or evidence.
@JLifter An atheist is a person who doesn't believe in gods, full stop. You're born an atheist, no willful decision made. No, I write it off because I can see there is no evidence. You don't get to tell me how I arrived at my conclusion. Just because I don't buy into your delusion does not mean that I'm ignoring the evidence. It means I've looked for evidence, and noticed a distinct lack thereof.
@Antifides There is a difference between not knowing if there is a God and believing that God does not exist. Since you cannot without irrefutable proof say God does not exist you therefore have to make a leap of faith one way or the other.
@JLifter There is a difference between lacking belief that gods exist, and believing that gods don't exist. Perhaps you should learn the distinction. They're both atheists, because they both lack belief in gods, but the second one is called a strong atheist. They don't believe in gods and further believe that gods don't exist. The claim that God, or gods, do not exist is not inherent to atheism. What you "studied" was a religious strawman of what atheists are. You're wrong.
@JLifter I don't know how many times I have to repeat this before it sinks in. No matter how much you religious folk want to redefine atheism as a belief system or a faith, it's not. Atheists are simply unconvinced by your claim that there is a magical being in the sky. They do not necessarily claim that there is not a magical being in the sky. When you can provide evidence for your claim that there is a magical being in the sky, let us know, and we'll all convert.
@Antifides So what you're saying is that you should be given a second chance when you die to believe and follow him? It's too late by then my friend you were given that chance already. Omnipotence is logically impossible because no human has it? Okay.
I've looked for evidence for there being no God and have also found none. So therefore I do not buy into your delusion. Bad argument because neither one of us can say the other is deluded without irrefutable proof.
@Antifides I assumed you thought it was logically impossible because you do not have it as a human being.
I suppose my mind isn't as closed off as yours is. Apparently you think your logic is superior to mine which is quite typical of an atheist such as yourself. Anyone who chooses to believe in something that is supernatural or superior to us is deluded. Great logic.
@JLifter I just gave an example of you being illogical. So, I think that makes me capable of stating that you are illogical.
By assuming meaning that I didn't state, you strawmanned my position. The strawman argument is a logical fallacy. Therefore, you are illogical. Furthermore, if you were logical, you could have formed that logical construct on your own and not needed me to explain it to you.
@Antifides You can not call me deluded unless you know for a fact that I am wrong. The position of non belief requires no evidence? It does if you are attempting to call someone deluded for not agreeing with you.
Hey glad you showed me these extra definitions which are quite unnecessary. You either believe, don't believe or sit on the fence. Even claiming to know is a belief if you are wrong.
@JLifter There is no sit on the fence option. Belief or not is a true dichotomy. If you try to "sit on the fence" then you just fall off, onto the "don't believe" side. The problem is there are FOUR positions of belief one can hold on any given subject. One can believe it. One can not believe it. One can believe that it is not. One can not believe that it is not.
The default, of course, is not believing either way. Which, as I've informed you, is atheism.
@JLifter I can call someone deluded for claiming something as true without being able to support that position. If you think you're Napoleon, and I don't believe you, and you can't support your claim that you are Napoleon, then I can call you deluded without supporting any contradictory belief. I will probably believe that you are not Napoleon, but I don't have to.
@Antifides There of course is no evidence of me being Napoleon so of course it would be deluded.
There is plenty of evidence for a creator so therefore you are wrong. I could give countless amounts of evidence to which you would turn away and refuse to believe it.
@Antifides I have plenty of evidence that God exists. Of course you don't see it as evidence but that's your choice.
Can you prove that you have thoughts and emotions? Do you believe that we are clumps of living matter (genes) that have somehow come together as one conscious? Can you personally prove evolution or the big bang? Or do you have faith that someone else has proven it? Do you believe that air exists? Why?
@JLifter Of course I don't see it as evidence, because you won't show it to me. Claiming that evidence exists is just as useless as claiming God exists. Show me evidence of God, or don't bother to claim he exists, because claims made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence, to paraphrase Hitchens.
@JLifter Yes, my mind is the one thing that I know with absolute certainty exists.
Yes to conscious living matter.
I have seen evidence for both the Big Bang and evolution.
Further, if you've seen science consistently get things right, that's evidence supporting it getting other things right. Therefore, it's not a faith-based position, even if you simply accept that a specific scientific claim is right because it's a scientific claim. It's evidence-based.
@Antifides You know that your mind exists but how can you prove to me that it does?
Yes to conscious living matter that came about from what?
Actually over the many years science has constantly gotten things wrong. They are continually correcting old theories and supposed rock hard evidences.
You see the effect air makes just like I see the effect God has made.
@Antifides The effect of God is all that is and ever will be. Like I said you choose not to believe that evidence. The evidence of matter, of thought, of emotions, questioning our existence, striving to educate ourselves, curiosity, love for another person, DNA, how every living thing needs something else to survive. I could go on and on but you will dismiss this evidence because you don't want to believe.
@JLifter I will dismiss that evidence because it's not evidence. I'm glad you've realized that I would rather believe that I will simply ceasing to exist at the end of my life instead of existing longer and having my every fantasy fulfilled. You're absolutely right, that MUST be the reason that I don't accept the "evidence" of God.
In order for any of that to be evidence of God, you must establish that God is responsible for it. I can just as easily claim that DNA is evidence of fairies.
@Antifides I am not saying that you would have your every fantasy fulfilled. Likely your fantasies would be for the most part worldly desires. What I meant was you don't want to believe because you don't want to answer to anything higher than you when you die (but thanks for putting words into my mouth).
Again you compare the existence of God to a fairy tale. Leprechauns and fairies are things children believe, adults believe in God.
@JLifter I will continue to compare the notion of God to any and all other supernatural entities or stories until you can give me a significant distinguishing factor between them. Specifically, you would have to demonstrate truth value behind the god claim.
The point is, heaven is supposed to be awesome. Why would I choose eternal torture over that? No one would, therefore your claim that I, or anyone else, deny God because I don't want to believe in him is ridiculous in the extreme.
@Antifides I dismiss your evidence because it is not evidence. You seem to want to see a physical representation of God to show proof. So show me your thoughts. Text is not something physical nor is it irrefutable proof that you have thoughts.
@JLifter This, by the way, is why I can state that you're illogical. If you were logical you would realize "matter proves God" is an illogical statement. Matter is evidence of matter. It is not evidence of God, or fairies, or the Cookie Monster. I can just as easily, and just as accurately, claim that it is evidence of the Cookie Monster as you can that it is evidence of God. The notable word there is "CLAIM," you're supporting your claim with another claim, not evidence.
@JLifter I can state again that you're illogical based on this statement. You see, you can be both illogical and correct. If you decide that someone was the murderer because he likes sushi, that's illogical. He could still be the murderer. Even if he is, you were still illogical.
You are not supporting your claim with logic. Therefore, you are being illogical.
@Antifides I am supporting my claim with logic. You choose not to see the logic or just can't see it. You just side tracked my question. You didn't prove me wrong.
@JLifter No, I didn't sidetrack the question. You don't have to be wrong in order for you to be illogical. In order to be logical, you have to provide evidence for your claim. I do not have to provide evidence that it's false.
Otherwise, I could make any claim I want, such as "I'm a three-eyed rabbit from Mars" or "DNA proves fairies" and you'd be forced to believe that, because you have no evidence against that.
@Antifides Again with the fairies and other fantasies. If you want to continue to compare God with these things I have no reason to continue this conversation.
Continue your belief as you see fit. I don't have time for a debate that is obviously going nowhere.
@JLifter Yes, other fantasies, like God. You don't seem to grasp that key component. Your god is no more established than any other story about magical creatures.
It really doesn't matter what I compare him to; would you prefer the Flying Spaghetti Monster? It was specifically invented as a comparison to your god. So too were the celestial teapot, invisible pink unicorn, dragon in my garage, and others. Any argument or evidence for God supports them just as well.
@JLifter Supporting your claim with what logic? At what point did you produce any logical formula or evidence for God? So far, all I've seen you do is claim that DNA, matter, and a bunch of other things are evidence of God. How are those in any way evidence of God? If you claim they're evidence of God, and think I need to provide evidence against it, then fine. I claim they're evidence of fairies. Now provide evidence against it.
@Antifides You really have your definitions messed up so I'll repeat myself and perhaps it will eventually make sense.
Not knowing whether or not there is a God or gods and not stating to know is AGNOSTIC. Believing that there is no God or gods period is ATHEISM. An agnostic claims not to know while an atheist claims to know. Whether you claim to believe there is a God or claim there is no God or gods is a faith.
@Antifides First off using the words 'magical being in the sky' is ignorant. It really shows how much you know on the whole matter.
Atheism is a belief no matter how much you atheist folk don't want to admit it is. Anything that cannot be proven with 100% certainty is a belief. Lets re-word it : You believe that God or gods do not exist. I believe that God exists. Since neither one of us can absolutely prove our belief we both have faith.
@JLifter "First off using the words 'magical being in the sky' is ignorant."
No, it's not. It's mocking.
"Anything that cannot be proven with 100% certainty is a belief."
It is 100% certain that the atheist lacks belief.
Let's say I have a cup. In this cup, I will either place a quarter, or I will not. You have three choices. You may believe that there is a quarter in the cup. You may believe there is not a quarter in the cup. Or, you may not believe either one. That's atheism.
@Antifides "No, it's not. It's mocking." Yes it is mocking and ignorant.
Belief that there is a supernatural God an all powerful intelligent being that created the universe is a legitimate belief and entirely plausible. Comparing it to fairy tales or other such things is a pathetic attempt at mockery.
Believing that everything just happened without direction of an intelligent being sounds deluded to me.
@JLifter No, sorry, it's not ignorant. I would have to actually demonstrate that I lacked knowledge it order for it to be ignorant. That's what ignorant means. Since it was a mocking statement, you can't assess my knowledge on the subject.
A supernatural universe-creating entity is POSSIBLE, not plausible. Leprechauns are just as possible. And exactly how do you assess it as legitimate?
None of the evidence for the formation of the universe bears any hallmarks of intelligence.
@Antifides Of course you'd rather call the intelligence behind evolution mother nature or a 'driving force' .
Lets also call the expansion of the universe and the laws that govern it a mathematical equation.
What is that? It's an attempt to rename and define God in the way you want Him to be. Just a force of nature or a law that we don't have to answer to. Then we can just do whatever we want it our life without consequence in the end.
@JLifter I see, you want to claim the laws for your god. Okay, then show me evidence that the laws came from your god... or ARE your god. We can demonstrate the laws exist, but unless you can demonstrate they originated with your god, they are not evidence for your god. You're just claiming they are.
@JLifter I am not making any claims regarding the origins of the laws. If you'd studied atheism, you would know that.
Note that the laws are simply consistent ways in which we've observed reality to function. It's not that reality has to follow the rules. It's that the laws were built by observing what reality does.
@Antifides "I am not making any claims regarding the origins of the laws." Where do you believe they came from? Do you believe they were just there or they came about somehow with the expansion of the universe?
@JLifter By the way, thanks for telling us what we do and don't believe. We really appreciate it. It's not like I, as an agnostic, strong atheist, antitheist, rationalist, epistemological solipsist, naturalist, humanist, skeptic have spent any time learning what labels correctly apply to me.
@Antifides Lets use another example. Lets say: I don't believe in aliens. You then say: I believe in aliens. Since neither of us has proof we both have faith in our belief based on the evidence that has been presented to us. I believe that I'm right and you believe that you are right. If either of us says we know we are right then we are wrong.
Until either one of us has irrefutable proof we both have faith in our belief
@Antifides You don't seem to understand the nature of free will. God has given us a choice. We can literally choose to go to Heaven or not. He doesn't choose for you to go to Hell, you do. He says this is what you need to do to go to Heaven, do this and you will go. Since you seem to know better that God do you believe that He should just allow everyone into Heaven? Don't believe or accept Him and willfully continue to sin; yep that person deserves Heaven.
@JLifter No sorry, you don't seem to understand the nature of omnipotence (which is that it's logically impossible, but moving on). If God doesn't want me to go to hell, he just doesn't send me there. Problem solved. If he wants to give me free will in the matter, then when I show up, he can ask me if I'd rather go to hell.
Say what you want about morals or Jesus's teachings or faith. But isn't the idea of an omnipotent entitiy forcing an innocent man to die a painful, humiliating death to make up for people cheating on their wife or cursing at their dog, or whatever, a bit convoluted and absurd? I gotta admit, when I fully realized this was a major tenet of Christianity when I was a teenager, this pretty much turned me off of religion forever.
@marlboroman1985 God sent Jesus His Son who is ONE with Him to die for our sins. What is written is that God Himself the Creator of all that is humbled Himself as a human man knowing full well that he would be tortured to death. He did this so that through shedding His perfect blood we could be saved. If you choose to accept this free gift you 'will not perish but receive eternal life'. This perfectly just and omnipotent creator died for you and I. Accept the gift or don't ; your choice.
@JLifter I gotta ask you a question, and I'm being sincere. It's really bothered me my whole life.
How can you be so sure of what you preach? My disbelief stems from no religious person ever being capable of giving me a satisfactory answer why. I mean you either just read it somewhere, or you were taught it by your parents. But how can you be so sure what you believe is true? Did you have a kind of undeniable ecstatic vision, or is Christianity just a casual, philosophical choice you like?
I believe that He loves us so much and desires to have a relationship with us that He came down as a man to die for us. His sinless blood is what covers our sin as long as we accept Him. This all makes sense to me and I understand that it may not for everyone. I do believe that a creator would care about what He has created.
I didn't have a vision and it isn't just a casual philosophical choice that I like. I truly believe that it is the truth.
@marlboroman1985 To me the existence of matter, in addition to the fact that we have emotions, thoughts and that we question our existence proves God. Others may disagree and that is fine. Proving God or disproving God entirely isn't possible. I believe that God also wants to have a personal relationship with us. I believe that He is a just God and that we do not deserve to go to Heaven because of our sins (no matter how big or small we perceive them to be).
@marlboroman1985 I was actually quite against Christianity until my late teens. When I first accepted it just felt right, somehow I just knew I needed to accept Him. I always believed in God as far as I can remember because that always seemed logical. I cannot speak for others or say without a doubt that I am right. So far from my studies of other beliefs (including atheism) Christianity stands the strongest. I encourage others to do their own studies and come to their own conclusions.
@JLifter Atheism isn't a belief, so you might want to study a bit harder. Atheism is the only defensible position on the existence of gods. The atheist lacks belief because he lacks reason to believe. Defeat that logic.
@JLifter Atheism isn't a belief, therefore you failed in studying it, or you would know that. The atheist does not believe because he lacks reason to believe. That logic is unassailable.
@Antifides Atheism IS a belief. I did not fail in studying it. Science can only cause people to be agnostic. Agnostic means to be ignorant on the matter, to state that you don't know. Science does not answer the question of the existence of the Universe. So therefore you have to make a leap of faith to either believe there is a God or there isn't. There is no absolute proof of the existence or non existence of God. Therefore to make a choice on that matter is a BELIEF.
@JLifter LMAO. Atheism isn't making a choice on the existence or nonexistence of God. You were born an atheist. You didn't believe in God. That's an atheist. The very basic thing you should learn when "studying" atheism is what the freaking word means.
@itarethetroll He says that all the people in the four corners will know. His word has got around.and continues to.my evidence is my Bible,my heart, my faith.I feel the wind and i cannot see it,but its there.I see a building and i was not there when it was built but how else did it get there.I do not have to see to believe. And if i was locked up for my beliefs then that would be a blessing to me.I know God will make me strong if that were to come.Blessed are those who believe and have not seen.
@lovinggodsword850308 Answer the question. Do you think those people your religion claims are being tortured deserve it? The bible is no evidence. It's just a book. A book full of ridiculous fairy tales and contradictions so that only a complete idiot could ever believe it. But I don't believe you believe it. You've never read the bible. I want you to actually read the entire thing. You'll lose a lot of faith in your religion if you do. I can observe the wind and buildings. God is undetectable.
@itarethetroll Im sorry i cannot answer that.Im not the judge,God our Father is.Only He can say who deserves to live and who deserves to die..Do not try to make me question my Father. Its not just a book. Its my future, its your future.if i were to answer it,i would be upset at myself,bc i am a sinner, but instead i have faith, and hope and pray God shows us all mercy, for we are all sinners.Maybe Fairy Tales are not such a bad thing,bc sometimes we dream to live in them.I want them to come true.
@itarethetroll No i have never read the whole Bible.I do know that God does not play. But He would not punish us if He did not loves us & did not think of us as His children. From young to old.I punish my kids bc I love them & want them to know right from wrong.my faith will remain strong, the more of the Bible I read, the more I fear my Father & makes my belief & faith stronger in Him & Jesus Christ His Son,Our Lord and Savior.Keep ur comments,ur wasting ur time with me.
@lovinggodsword850308 Exactly. You "believe" out of fear. Your living in an imaginary North Korea. Would you punish your kids by eternal torture? Would you lock them up in a basement and hire people to torture them while keeping them alive as long as possible? Why don't you read the Bible? If I thought a book was the word of god, I would read it every day.
@itarethetroll No I dont believe out of fear.I believe and know what could happen if I didnt.I fear Him bc He could put me to eternal death.Just like growing up I feared my dad bc he spanked me when I was bad.But our Father is forgiving, and Jesus Christ is how we are forgiven.I know the bible is the word of God.See this is how satan grabs people.Have u not heard of the parable of the sower? If u read the Bible as u calimed u have then that should be very familiar.im not goin to be snatched away.
@lovinggodsword850308 If god can forgive, then why doesn't he just forgive instead of making a blood scapegoat sacrifice? "I know the bible is the word of God"
HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT? WHAT PROOF DO YOU HAVE? Also, claiming "satan" is grabbing me away is just laughable. That's one of the most ridiculous myths people believe. lol.
@itarethetroll Ridiculous to u.satan can sift u away as wheat, and ur laughter will come to an end on judgement day.I dont need proof to believe or evidence,ok,i have said this and im repeating myself,ur just not listening because ur not letting God have a place in u.I dont have time for this.I hope u find the truth one day,i honestly do,And if u understood the Bible, then u would know the truth,u say y cant He forgive,Well listen to what ur sayin about Him,Ask Him in Jesus' name and mean it.
Then your belief is meaningless. You hold it for no good reason. I'm not letting God have a place for me? What about people who lived in places where Christianity was unheard of? They're burning in hell because your imaginary friend didn't feel like having a place for them? durp durp. But you're right, this is a waste of time, because you haven't read the bible, you don't know anything about your own religion, and you don't think.
@itarethetroll No i said ur not letting God have a place in u,i didnt say for u.ur not listening to me.and no,those people are not burning becasue they have not heard God word so they will be ok.He would not punish if they had not heard of them. And u do not know me so how can u tell me what I know and what I dont. And I will be learning about the truth til the day I die.u keep sayin religion, its truth, faith, and if i dont keep mine and have God and Jesus in my heart then I have no purpose,no life.
@lovinggodsword850308 That isn't proof. What about the Quran, the Vedas, or the Upanishads? They are just books. Being written in a book does not make something true. Before using the New Testament as evidence you have to have evidence taht the New Testament is true. Of course several claims in the New Testament are proven to be ridiculous nonsense, so we know that's impossible.
@itarethetroll You know, when Jesus Christ was here, actually standing on the earth,no one believed who He was then and He was here in person,NO ONE will convince me different,u have ur beliefs and I will bother u with mine no more,ok,if u need evidence, then thats u,i need no sign, and know those who want a sign, its says in the Bible, none will be given.
@lovinggodsword850308 So, your god will only give salvation to people who want to commit intellectual suicide and believe something for no reason? Lol. Ok. I'll leave you alone now.
@itarethetroll God gives salvation to those that CHOOSE to receive His free gift. Intellectual suicide is a subjective opinion when it comes to theology or philosophy. Deism, theism, Christianity, other beliefs and even atheism are all in themselves faiths.
If you only go by science and believe what science states about the universe and evolution you can only be agnostic. Anything beyond that going towards belief in God or non belief is a faith.
He said "Read your Bible daily and obey it.". So that means that I should stone my children to death if they are unruly, gluttons and drunkards (Deuteronomy 21: 18-21). I can HAVE slaves and I can beat them as long as I don't kill them immediately. If they last a day or two after the beating and then die everything is fine (Exodus 21: 20-21). If i stumble upon any non-believers then I should kill them on the spot (Deuteronomy 13: 6-10). I am going to be pretty busy.
@CynicalSkeptic1 Of course not. When Jesus came, rules changed, out with the old and in with the new,but God wants us to love Him above all, even our own kids and parents,of course He does not want us beating anyone or stoning our kids or kill non believers,we are suppose to confess Christ to everyone
@lovinggodsword850308 The problem is that just because God 'changed the rules' doesn't mean that he didn't want the violence to take place initially. He did want beatings, stonings, and to kill non-believers. Just because he may have changed his way of thinking doesn't mean that he wasn't a violent and malevolent God before the New Testament. He still did all the atrocities in the Bible. Those didn't just magically disappear because most people stopped following the Old Testament.
@lovinggodsword850308 You said "God did not approve of any of that." Excuse me, but he commanded many of these things to take place!! Just because the New Testament doesn't have so many of the heinous acts of the Old Testament, it is still YOUR God who did these awful things. Just because people don't follow the Old Testament now doesn't change the fact of the things he supposedly did in that time.
@lovinggodsword850308 Also, Christians used to execute people for being witches. They changed that law and now they don't execute witches. Does that mean that those evil executions never took place? Of course not! Executing supposed witches was just as evil then as it is now. It is just times have changed and now we don't do it. That certainly doesn't mean that executing witches was 'just fine' in that day and age. Time passing doesn't mean that evil deeds are no longer evil.
@CynicalSkeptic1 I just said to u God made laws to ameliorate the PRACTICES of that time. The world was not suppose to go that way of course.Look,God is merciful and loving.Without Him my life would be meaningless.Believe what u want about Him,bc u seem to have it sown in ur heart how u feel, and Im truly sorry for that.I hope one day u change ur mind.Jesus Christ can change that if u ask for forgivness, and take Him into ur heart, and God will dwell there and u will be full of light & happy forever
@lovinggodsword850308 Again, I have to disagree with you. The God of the Bible is certainly NOT merciful and loving. If anything, he was vein and malevolent (and petty in many instances). I used to be a Christian for twenty years so I have seen both sides of the fence, so to speak.
You said you hope one day that I will change my mind and take Jesus into my heart. I just hope one day that you open your mind to see all perspectives. Good luck with your religion. =)
@ndog37 'It's so depressing that people who live in the year two thousand and ten are still ignorant and uneducated enough to believe in evolution.' You're an idiot.
It's so depressing that people who live in the year two thousand and eleven are still ignorant and uneducated enough to believe in God.
Whenever I get handed these fake bills, they pretty much end up in the nearest trash can. People like this are what drives most away from organized religion.
wow christians in USA go to such extreme lengths to preach ... i thought this will be a funny video ;/ i guess religion really is dying (thank god) xD
@theamzer Nah. That's just Ray Comfort. My parents are Christian and they are actually smart, honest, and rational. Not everyone in the US is like Ray and Kirk. These guys do a pretty good job deconverting people though, I gotta admit. They're the outliers, not the statistical average.
@Mplsfitter539 How are there "people" in hell? What is a person? Where is "Hell"? How could a person travel to Hell? How can something that is not made of matter burn? What "very hot flame" can exist without a physical substance to consume? How could a person love their child, yet set up a system where there is the possibility of that child being mercilessly tortured for a period of time which is longer than the length of time they were alive? Does that really sound like love to you?
@ProfessorPEARL its spirtual in a way u could say.God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.Did He ask us for any money or when Jesus rose that third day did He say u owe me big time? No,Jesus took that punishment so we didn't have to.you have a choice in everything u do.u hear that smoking is bad for u,and yet people still smoke.y?cause they choose to.How do u really know God is real? well take the wind for ex. u cant see it,but u still feel it blowing.all he wants is ur love & faith
@lovinggodsword850308 I don't hate you. I would never wish you harm if you've not harmed me or another. Please tell me what I did to you for you to believe what you must believe about me. When did I do you harm? Honest questions.
@ProfessorPEARL No im not saying u have harmed me,or that u hated me, why do u ask that.i was lookin at the comment i replied to from u because it had got my attention and u asked a bunch of questions i was just answering what i believe the Lord wanted me to say thats all,im sry if u thought different.really, i didnt mean to offend if I did im really sorry.
@lovinggodsword850308 I ask because to be a Christian (footstep follower of Christ) you must believe it is my place to be the slave of others. You must believe it justice, that it is right, holy and righteous for I & my children to be murdered, drowned, starved. To be a Christian you must believe that I live a pitiful existence, lost, filled with misery, & that I need to be saved from myself. I will never believe that love could set up a system where these things COULD ever happen.
@ProfessorPEARL 2 me thats a wonderful thing, someone loved me some much He sent His only Son to save us sinners from death.i know i have a debt i could never repay. thank u God for Jesus Christ, now that sounds like love to me!!!!!
@tftmc u are right u cant force beliefs on anyone, however u can try to educate them about what u know ,and believeing whats said is up to that person.some people seem so offended thinking they r being forced that they deny the word out of spite.or because they want to hate something so much because their life is meaningless, and they r miserable.i know life is short,i would rather know the truth before i died so when the time comes to go thru those gates,im not told to turn around
@lovinggodsword850308 The Bible says that unbelievers should be "put to death", isn't that an attempt to force people to believe? Education involves research, but how does one research a claim which has no proof, evidence or reasonable logic? One does not choose belief, but one can ignore evidence. I want evidence, no one will provide it, why? Those who want to know something ask questions. Those who believe they have the answers do not ask questions, nor do they accept new information.
@ProfessorPEARL Do u really want evidence? Then read your Bible. Do u really want answers? Then read your Bible. The Bible was written on witnessed accounts of it all.God is loving and merciful. He askes you to believe that His Son Jesus Christ came and died for us all.He loves us that much.No one is forcing u to believe anything. The events in the Bible happened.Jesus died for us and eternal life is a gift. The Bible says for Christians to confess Christ to everyone.
Remember, its you who claims to believe child rape is righteousness, it's you who claims slavery is moral, it's you who claims a perfect human doesn't have the ability to remember being asked a question multiple times... The bible says many more things than what a preacher would "quote" to you.
@ProfessorPEARL Its a sad thing when people like urself try to turn God's word around.Lev.25:44 Foreign slaves could be bought, sold, inherieted like oither property. This does not mean God approves of slavery. He made laws to ameliorate the practices of that time.Num31:18,35 Of that time Women of God are to be VIRGINS and pure.Of course God does not agree with rape.where do u see God agrees with that?John13:33,36,37know that the disciples were slow to comprehend, and were as "little children"
@lovinggodsword850308 Turning "god's" word around involves reading it in black and white? So we should interpret the evil away? And, no, it 's your god's rules. If it did not approve it would have made rules against it, "just as the nations do."
"But all the WOMEN CHILDREN, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves" Not for god, for the men to have sex with. Were they willing participants having their mother, father, brothers aunts, uncles, and cousins killed?
@lovinggodsword850308 Perfect means what? Does pi = 3.142? If I claim to be perfect, all knowing, or some such nonsense, but I tell you, "pi = 3.142", & later you find that it actually has a value closer to 3.141, am I all knowing? Slavery is & has always been wrong. People did not start having feelings after arriving in America. People did not just start knowing that they didn't want to be slaves after the founding of America. Your "omniscient" god was & is wrong, go tell it.
@ProfessorPEARL they didnt understand at first.john 16:5 none of you asks Me,"Where are you going?":Peter had asked this very question (13:36) and Thomas suggested it (14:5)However things are different now.The disciples had learned about denials, suffering and death. To go with Jesus involved more serious consequences.Jesus came and so did a new order. That is why we are ALLforgiven if we repent and believe.my God and my Savior love us all more than we love ourselves or anyone else.have a good day
@lovinggodsword850308 Jesus was asked on more than one occasion the very question which he complains about not being asked. Either he forgot that he was asked, or the writer forgot the story they were writing. Sort of blows a big hole in that whole "perfect son of god" thing...
What sort of loving being would create a place of eternal torment for those it would claim to love? You are warped in your thinking if you truly believe love means creating a place to torture your children when "bad".
@lovinggodsword850308 And lets just drive the point home. You believe the bible is the word of god. Your book states the descendants of Ham are supposed to be slaves to the other descendants of Noah. You believe all of African descent should be slaves. You believe the U.S. Constitution is in error. You are anti-America, & pro-slavery. I'm sure plenty of Jews heard, "have a nice day" from their Nazi captors, so please save it for your children whom you would torture for eternity.
@ProfessorPEARL drive this home,i believe in God,He is a loving God.Dont sit here and claim im for slavery and rape and all this stuff u keep sayin.im not.america has been run into the ground,i hate bein a sinner, and my beliefs are not wrong.convince whoever u want, whatever u want.u will not make me feel bad for believeing in God.I do.And I believe in Jesus CHrist.Ill shout it to the world.ok,and ill pray for u even though u say these things to me.Have a nice day.
@itarethetroll when i say ill pray for u,i am not bein pretentious.there is nothing wrong with letting someone know u will pray for them,i dont say it all showy as u think,i say it in honest, and i mean what i pray.I hope i get prayers as well to be honest. But when u read my comment that is just how u took it.When i say ill pray for u,I pray for people to turn toward God and have faith and to believe on Him and His Son Jesus Christ. It is not filth,im sorry u feel that way,and sry u took it wrong
@lovinggodsword850308 When you realize you can't persuade intelligent people of your religion because there is no reason or evidence for believing in your stupid cult, you say "I'll pray for you", implying that we "just don't get it", and you don't present any arguments or reasons for the truth of your religion. That's very insulting. If you weren't a pretentious retard you'd just accept that we have no reason to believe your religion is true.
@itarethetroll u dont persuade someone to have faith. You either have faith or u dont,u can either believe or not.Its a choice.u may not believe what I do.when i say ill pray for u,i pray that u will accept God's word.i dont have to present any argument to explain myself or what i believe.I know who is right and true.It Jesus Christ, and only through Him can u get to God.its not a happy idea for me or ANYONE to be in a lake of fire for eternity.how is that insulting?my feelings are honest :)
@lovinggodsword850308 You say its a loving god, in the same way dumb-asses say "life was better in the 40's". Your view of the world is insanely narrow. Other human beings are on this planet. Your god states plainly that their existence is no concern to it, but you claim that to be the words of a loving creator? You can read the very words from the book & twist, 'kill all the males & women who have known a man by lying with them, & take the women children for yourselves' into, love everyone.
@ProfessorPEARL i am not going back to this point again,i have said my peace u have too, lets leave it at this,no one can change my heart about God.u dont have to justify urself anymore with me.so lets just leave ur point where u think ur right.good day( and i dont say that being sarcastic)
@Mplsfitter539 actually gandi was cool. may he still burn when i get there. you do realize that is scare tactics and a form of brain washing and control. it works on the weak minded and people who just dont know any better in life. professorPEARL is right. we know how pain works and how the body functions. in no form have we found a soul connected to this. pain is the common denominator between this and the supposed next and we have proved their is no soul in the process. what is your support?
In America they arrest you for anything. American police, fbi, army, cia, etc are all the most useless freeloading idiots that ever existed in history.
that jesus gives some good hand jobs though. the zebra just cant it with hooves. but it makes up for it with the blow-jobs. Having a beard around my crotch feels itchy.
I saw this and ordered some of these. Must not have been paying attention -- funny, I received 100 bundles of 100 million dollar bills, each. 10 billion dollars! I have alot to pass out. I just tell people that I ordered these Bible tracts and they are great, they have a message on the back. Brings a smile.
This ridiculous...what is the point? Unlike you, they are loved by others, and people give them gifts all the time, you wouldn't know anything about that ;)
wow....im not suprised they took it...every one nos there is no such thing as a million dollar bill and just because travolta is scientologist dosnt mean hes lost he used to be catholic so most likley hes saved from back as child being catholic hes not a bad person for having a diffrent religion i mean im baptist and i still wonder if scientology is real cuz ive research it and those helings do work
this is ridiculous. Not only grace and mercy, but justice and punishment.

this type of argument is flawed (your a sinner god is pathway to heaven) it's fooling a mechanism we all have in our brains EVADE PUNISHMENT. however in religion it's infinite punishment. and if you say your going to a hell and people are convinced then you trigger a reaction to avoid punishment. if you make the punishment infinite then people will do any amount of finite things.

You could see things happening on a brain scan but you couldn't physically see or touch your thoughts.
You can see the effect but not the cause right?
The point I'm making is that although you cannot see God or touch God you can see His effect.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter Everything is observed by it's effect. I see this ball in front of me because light bounces off it and gets translated into an image by my eye and brain. I don't see the ball; I see the effect the ball has on what I perceive as reality. This is all very irrelevant, though.
When you show me an effect that could only be God-created, then I will believe you that God created it.

Oxford Dictionaries definitions of Atheist and Agnostic
Atheist: a person who does not believe in the existence of God or gods:
(Easily re-worded to 'a person who believes that God or gods do not exist)
Agnostic: a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter Okay, here's what you're missing. Here's how an atheist (with no qualifiers) answers these questions:
"Do you believe there are gods?"
"No."
"Do you believe there are not gods?"
"No."
You cannot reword the LACK of something to be the thing it is a lack of. If you are not holding an apple, that doesn't mean you are holding an anti-apple.
And, by the way, an agnostic is just someone who lacks knowledge of existence of gods. I'm an agnostic atheist.

"The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell. That's not God's will."
I see, so there are things that happen against your omnipotent god's will and he does nothing to prevent it.
Antifides 11 months ago
@Antifides He sent His Son (which is also God as they are ONE being) to die for you. That is what He did, God came as a man and was physically tortured to death for you. It is then your choice to accept this.
This is what He has done to prevent it. If that is nothing then I don't know what something is.

Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter Yes, that is nothing. He wants me to not go to hell, but instead of preventing me from going to hell, he expects me to accept a ridiculous fairy tale for which there is not one whit of evidence, and then he'll prevent me from going to hell. An omnipotent God, if he wanted me to not go to hell, would simply not send me to hell. That's how all-powerful works. He can do whatever he wants, yet he wants me to not go to hell, yet I'll still go to hell. And he does nothing to prevent it.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides So dieing for all mankind is nothing? Okay.
There is evidence, just because some atheist tells you there isn't doesn't mean it's true. But believe whatever your atheist books tell you to believe. Don't bother reading anything from a Christians perspective because you may learn something new. You like others act as if we deserve to go to Heaven, we don't. Why do we deserve to go? God has given us free will to decide. It's your choice.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter I don't read atheist books. I know there's no evidence and no sustainable argument for gods, because no Christian has ever supplied any. Some of them actually try, and I point out why it's flawed. Others, like you, just claim that the evidence and logic exists, yet somehow can't seem to provide it.
Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter If God didn't want me to go to hell, he wouldn't send me there. No loopholes in his own laws required. He would just say, okay, no hell for you, and it would be so. He's omnipotent, remember? The only thing that can stop him, is him, his choice. He chose for me to go to hell. Therefore, he is responsible, and no one else. Of course, I don't believe in him, but that's the only thing that makes sense if you do believe.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides As I already said the existence of matter, emotions, thought and questioning ones existence is evidence of God. Agree with me or not that is your choice.
We were not 'born atheist' as you claim. We were born without yet knowing. We did not have a belief yet because we were too young and didn't have the information or the thought to make that choice.
No you cannot provide irrefutable evidence that God exists but neither can you provide any that He doesn't.
JLifter 10 months ago
@Antifides An atheist is someone who has willfully made the choice not to believe in God. I can already see that you willfully decide to ignore the evidence and logic for the existence of God. You write it off because you want to believe that God does not exist. You may point out that it is flawed but that doesn't mean that you are correct. It only means that you have a subjective opinion on that logic or evidence.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter An atheist is a person who doesn't believe in gods, full stop. You're born an atheist, no willful decision made. No, I write it off because I can see there is no evidence. You don't get to tell me how I arrived at my conclusion. Just because I don't buy into your delusion does not mean that I'm ignoring the evidence. It means I've looked for evidence, and noticed a distinct lack thereof.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides There is a difference between not knowing if there is a God and believing that God does not exist. Since you cannot without irrefutable proof say God does not exist you therefore have to make a leap of faith one way or the other.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter There is a difference between lacking belief that gods exist, and believing that gods don't exist. Perhaps you should learn the distinction. They're both atheists, because they both lack belief in gods, but the second one is called a strong atheist. They don't believe in gods and further believe that gods don't exist. The claim that God, or gods, do not exist is not inherent to atheism. What you "studied" was a religious strawman of what atheists are. You're wrong.
Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter I don't know how many times I have to repeat this before it sinks in. No matter how much you religious folk want to redefine atheism as a belief system or a faith, it's not. Atheists are simply unconvinced by your claim that there is a magical being in the sky. They do not necessarily claim that there is not a magical being in the sky. When you can provide evidence for your claim that there is a magical being in the sky, let us know, and we'll all convert.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides So what you're saying is that you should be given a second chance when you die to believe and follow him? It's too late by then my friend you were given that chance already. Omnipotence is logically impossible because no human has it? Okay.
I've looked for evidence for there being no God and have also found none. So therefore I do not buy into your delusion. Bad argument because neither one of us can say the other is deluded without irrefutable proof.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter "Omnipotence is logically impossible because no human has it? Okay."
I don't recall giving a reason it was logically impossible. I certainly didn't mention humans.
It becomes increasingly clear why you accept this nonsense. You don't think logically.
I've already addressed the issue of providing evidence against the existence of imperceptible entities.
I can call you deluded because you don't have evidence for your position, while the position of non-belief requires none.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides I assumed you thought it was logically impossible because you do not have it as a human being.
I suppose my mind isn't as closed off as yours is. Apparently you think your logic is superior to mine which is quite typical of an atheist such as yourself. Anyone who chooses to believe in something that is supernatural or superior to us is deluded. Great logic.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter I just gave an example of you being illogical. So, I think that makes me capable of stating that you are illogical.
By assuming meaning that I didn't state, you strawmanned my position. The strawman argument is a logical fallacy. Therefore, you are illogical. Furthermore, if you were logical, you could have formed that logical construct on your own and not needed me to explain it to you.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides You realize if you are completely wrong on the matter of God (and I believe you are) then your supposed logic is a joke.
JLifter 10 months ago
@Antifides You can not call me deluded unless you know for a fact that I am wrong. The position of non belief requires no evidence? It does if you are attempting to call someone deluded for not agreeing with you.
Hey glad you showed me these extra definitions which are quite unnecessary. You either believe, don't believe or sit on the fence. Even claiming to know is a belief if you are wrong.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter There is no sit on the fence option. Belief or not is a true dichotomy. If you try to "sit on the fence" then you just fall off, onto the "don't believe" side. The problem is there are FOUR positions of belief one can hold on any given subject. One can believe it. One can not believe it. One can believe that it is not. One can not believe that it is not.
The default, of course, is not believing either way. Which, as I've informed you, is atheism.
Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter I can call someone deluded for claiming something as true without being able to support that position. If you think you're Napoleon, and I don't believe you, and you can't support your claim that you are Napoleon, then I can call you deluded without supporting any contradictory belief. I will probably believe that you are not Napoleon, but I don't have to.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides There of course is no evidence of me being Napoleon so of course it would be deluded.
There is plenty of evidence for a creator so therefore you are wrong. I could give countless amounts of evidence to which you would turn away and refuse to believe it.
JLifter 10 months ago
@Antifides I have plenty of evidence that God exists. Of course you don't see it as evidence but that's your choice.
Can you prove that you have thoughts and emotions? Do you believe that we are clumps of living matter (genes) that have somehow come together as one conscious? Can you personally prove evolution or the big bang? Or do you have faith that someone else has proven it? Do you believe that air exists? Why?
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter Of course I don't see it as evidence, because you won't show it to me. Claiming that evidence exists is just as useless as claiming God exists. Show me evidence of God, or don't bother to claim he exists, because claims made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence, to paraphrase Hitchens.
Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter Yes, my mind is the one thing that I know with absolute certainty exists.
Yes to conscious living matter.
I have seen evidence for both the Big Bang and evolution.
Further, if you've seen science consistently get things right, that's evidence supporting it getting other things right. Therefore, it's not a faith-based position, even if you simply accept that a specific scientific claim is right because it's a scientific claim. It's evidence-based.
Yes, air is demonstrable.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides You know that your mind exists but how can you prove to me that it does?
Yes to conscious living matter that came about from what?
Actually over the many years science has constantly gotten things wrong. They are continually correcting old theories and supposed rock hard evidences.
You see the effect air makes just like I see the effect God has made.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter Okay, I can show you the effect of air. Now show me the effect of God.
I answered this question: "Do you believe that we are clumps of living matter (genes) that have somehow come together as one conscious?" Yes.
Science can be trusted because it corrects itself.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides The effect of God is all that is and ever will be. Like I said you choose not to believe that evidence. The evidence of matter, of thought, of emotions, questioning our existence, striving to educate ourselves, curiosity, love for another person, DNA, how every living thing needs something else to survive. I could go on and on but you will dismiss this evidence because you don't want to believe.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter I will dismiss that evidence because it's not evidence. I'm glad you've realized that I would rather believe that I will simply ceasing to exist at the end of my life instead of existing longer and having my every fantasy fulfilled. You're absolutely right, that MUST be the reason that I don't accept the "evidence" of God.
In order for any of that to be evidence of God, you must establish that God is responsible for it. I can just as easily claim that DNA is evidence of fairies.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides I am not saying that you would have your every fantasy fulfilled. Likely your fantasies would be for the most part worldly desires. What I meant was you don't want to believe because you don't want to answer to anything higher than you when you die (but thanks for putting words into my mouth).
Again you compare the existence of God to a fairy tale. Leprechauns and fairies are things children believe, adults believe in God.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter I will continue to compare the notion of God to any and all other supernatural entities or stories until you can give me a significant distinguishing factor between them. Specifically, you would have to demonstrate truth value behind the god claim.
The point is, heaven is supposed to be awesome. Why would I choose eternal torture over that? No one would, therefore your claim that I, or anyone else, deny God because I don't want to believe in him is ridiculous in the extreme.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides Submit to me the evidence that your thoughts exist.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter The fact that I'm talking to you is evidence that my thoughts exist. I am communicating to you my thoughts in text form.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides I dismiss your evidence because it is not evidence. You seem to want to see a physical representation of God to show proof. So show me your thoughts. Text is not something physical nor is it irrefutable proof that you have thoughts.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter Oh? If my ability to communicate with you isn't evidence of my ability to think, why not?
Text is physical. So are my thoughts. If you want to see them, we'll have to get together and get me a brain scan. You're paying.
Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter This, by the way, is why I can state that you're illogical. If you were logical you would realize "matter proves God" is an illogical statement. Matter is evidence of matter. It is not evidence of God, or fairies, or the Cookie Monster. I can just as easily, and just as accurately, claim that it is evidence of the Cookie Monster as you can that it is evidence of God. The notable word there is "CLAIM," you're supporting your claim with another claim, not evidence.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides You cannot state that I am illogical if I am correct. Prove to me that I am wrong.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter I can state again that you're illogical based on this statement. You see, you can be both illogical and correct. If you decide that someone was the murderer because he likes sushi, that's illogical. He could still be the murderer. Even if he is, you were still illogical.
You are not supporting your claim with logic. Therefore, you are being illogical.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides I am supporting my claim with logic. You choose not to see the logic or just can't see it. You just side tracked my question. You didn't prove me wrong.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter No, I didn't sidetrack the question. You don't have to be wrong in order for you to be illogical. In order to be logical, you have to provide evidence for your claim. I do not have to provide evidence that it's false.
Otherwise, I could make any claim I want, such as "I'm a three-eyed rabbit from Mars" or "DNA proves fairies" and you'd be forced to believe that, because you have no evidence against that.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides Again with the fairies and other fantasies. If you want to continue to compare God with these things I have no reason to continue this conversation.
Continue your belief as you see fit. I don't have time for a debate that is obviously going nowhere.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter Yes, other fantasies, like God. You don't seem to grasp that key component. Your god is no more established than any other story about magical creatures.
It really doesn't matter what I compare him to; would you prefer the Flying Spaghetti Monster? It was specifically invented as a comparison to your god. So too were the celestial teapot, invisible pink unicorn, dragon in my garage, and others. Any argument or evidence for God supports them just as well.
Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter Supporting your claim with what logic? At what point did you produce any logical formula or evidence for God? So far, all I've seen you do is claim that DNA, matter, and a bunch of other things are evidence of God. How are those in any way evidence of God? If you claim they're evidence of God, and think I need to provide evidence against it, then fine. I claim they're evidence of fairies. Now provide evidence against it.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides You really have your definitions messed up so I'll repeat myself and perhaps it will eventually make sense.
Not knowing whether or not there is a God or gods and not stating to know is AGNOSTIC. Believing that there is no God or gods period is ATHEISM. An agnostic claims not to know while an atheist claims to know. Whether you claim to believe there is a God or claim there is no God or gods is a faith.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter You really have your definitions messed up, so I'll tell you what these words mean.
Atheist: One who does not believe in gods.
With the modifier "strong": one who believes gods don't exist.
Agnostic: one who does not know if gods exist.
Agnostic atheist: one who does not know and does not believe that gods exist.
Gnostic: one who claims to know if gods exist.
Gnostic atheist: one who claims to know gods do not exist.
Anything else I can help you understand about our positions?
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides First off using the words 'magical being in the sky' is ignorant. It really shows how much you know on the whole matter.
Atheism is a belief no matter how much you atheist folk don't want to admit it is. Anything that cannot be proven with 100% certainty is a belief. Lets re-word it : You believe that God or gods do not exist. I believe that God exists. Since neither one of us can absolutely prove our belief we both have faith.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter "First off using the words 'magical being in the sky' is ignorant."
No, it's not. It's mocking.
"Anything that cannot be proven with 100% certainty is a belief."
It is 100% certain that the atheist lacks belief.
Let's say I have a cup. In this cup, I will either place a quarter, or I will not. You have three choices. You may believe that there is a quarter in the cup. You may believe there is not a quarter in the cup. Or, you may not believe either one. That's atheism.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides "No, it's not. It's mocking." Yes it is mocking and ignorant.
Belief that there is a supernatural God an all powerful intelligent being that created the universe is a legitimate belief and entirely plausible. Comparing it to fairy tales or other such things is a pathetic attempt at mockery.
Believing that everything just happened without direction of an intelligent being sounds deluded to me.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter No, sorry, it's not ignorant. I would have to actually demonstrate that I lacked knowledge it order for it to be ignorant. That's what ignorant means. Since it was a mocking statement, you can't assess my knowledge on the subject.
A supernatural universe-creating entity is POSSIBLE, not plausible. Leprechauns are just as possible. And exactly how do you assess it as legitimate?
None of the evidence for the formation of the universe bears any hallmarks of intelligence.
Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter And you're again ignoring that an atheist doesn't necessarily believe that everything happened without the direction of an intelligent being.
Even being a strong atheist myself, I allow for the possibility of an intelligence behind the Big Bang. I just wouldn't call it a god.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides Of course you'd rather call the intelligence behind evolution mother nature or a 'driving force' .
Lets also call the expansion of the universe and the laws that govern it a mathematical equation.
What is that? It's an attempt to rename and define God in the way you want Him to be. Just a force of nature or a law that we don't have to answer to. Then we can just do whatever we want it our life without consequence in the end.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter I see, you want to claim the laws for your god. Okay, then show me evidence that the laws came from your god... or ARE your god. We can demonstrate the laws exist, but unless you can demonstrate they originated with your god, they are not evidence for your god. You're just claiming they are.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides I am claiming they did yes. Are you claiming that they were just there?
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter I am not making any claims regarding the origins of the laws. If you'd studied atheism, you would know that.
Note that the laws are simply consistent ways in which we've observed reality to function. It's not that reality has to follow the rules. It's that the laws were built by observing what reality does.
Antifides 10 months ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Antifides "I am not making any claims regarding the origins of the laws." Where do you believe they came from? Do you believe they were just there or they came about somehow with the expansion of the universe?
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter By the way, thanks for telling us what we do and don't believe. We really appreciate it. It's not like I, as an agnostic, strong atheist, antitheist, rationalist, epistemological solipsist, naturalist, humanist, skeptic have spent any time learning what labels correctly apply to me.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides Lets use another example. Lets say: I don't believe in aliens. You then say: I believe in aliens. Since neither of us has proof we both have faith in our belief based on the evidence that has been presented to us. I believe that I'm right and you believe that you are right. If either of us says we know we are right then we are wrong.
Until either one of us has irrefutable proof we both have faith in our belief
JLifter 10 months ago
@Antifides You don't seem to understand the nature of free will. God has given us a choice. We can literally choose to go to Heaven or not. He doesn't choose for you to go to Hell, you do. He says this is what you need to do to go to Heaven, do this and you will go. Since you seem to know better that God do you believe that He should just allow everyone into Heaven? Don't believe or accept Him and willfully continue to sin; yep that person deserves Heaven.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter No sorry, you don't seem to understand the nature of omnipotence (which is that it's logically impossible, but moving on). If God doesn't want me to go to hell, he just doesn't send me there. Problem solved. If he wants to give me free will in the matter, then when I show up, he can ask me if I'd rather go to hell.
Antifides 10 months ago
Say what you want about morals or Jesus's teachings or faith. But isn't the idea of an omnipotent entitiy forcing an innocent man to die a painful, humiliating death to make up for people cheating on their wife or cursing at their dog, or whatever, a bit convoluted and absurd? I gotta admit, when I fully realized this was a major tenet of Christianity when I was a teenager, this pretty much turned me off of religion forever.
marlboroman1985 1 year ago
@marlboroman1985 God sent Jesus His Son who is ONE with Him to die for our sins. What is written is that God Himself the Creator of all that is humbled Himself as a human man knowing full well that he would be tortured to death. He did this so that through shedding His perfect blood we could be saved. If you choose to accept this free gift you 'will not perish but receive eternal life'. This perfectly just and omnipotent creator died for you and I. Accept the gift or don't ; your choice.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter I gotta ask you a question, and I'm being sincere. It's really bothered me my whole life.
How can you be so sure of what you preach? My disbelief stems from no religious person ever being capable of giving me a satisfactory answer why. I mean you either just read it somewhere, or you were taught it by your parents. But how can you be so sure what you believe is true? Did you have a kind of undeniable ecstatic vision, or is Christianity just a casual, philosophical choice you like?
marlboroman1985 10 months ago
I believe that He loves us so much and desires to have a relationship with us that He came down as a man to die for us. His sinless blood is what covers our sin as long as we accept Him. This all makes sense to me and I understand that it may not for everyone. I do believe that a creator would care about what He has created.
I didn't have a vision and it isn't just a casual philosophical choice that I like. I truly believe that it is the truth.
JLifter 10 months ago
@marlboroman1985 To me the existence of matter, in addition to the fact that we have emotions, thoughts and that we question our existence proves God. Others may disagree and that is fine. Proving God or disproving God entirely isn't possible. I believe that God also wants to have a personal relationship with us. I believe that He is a just God and that we do not deserve to go to Heaven because of our sins (no matter how big or small we perceive them to be).
JLifter 10 months ago
@marlboroman1985 I was actually quite against Christianity until my late teens. When I first accepted it just felt right, somehow I just knew I needed to accept Him. I always believed in God as far as I can remember because that always seemed logical. I cannot speak for others or say without a doubt that I am right. So far from my studies of other beliefs (including atheism) Christianity stands the strongest. I encourage others to do their own studies and come to their own conclusions.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter Atheism isn't a belief, so you might want to study a bit harder. Atheism is the only defensible position on the existence of gods. The atheist lacks belief because he lacks reason to believe. Defeat that logic.
Antifides 10 months ago
@JLifter Atheism isn't a belief, therefore you failed in studying it, or you would know that. The atheist does not believe because he lacks reason to believe. That logic is unassailable.
Antifides 10 months ago
@Antifides Atheism IS a belief. I did not fail in studying it. Science can only cause people to be agnostic. Agnostic means to be ignorant on the matter, to state that you don't know. Science does not answer the question of the existence of the Universe. So therefore you have to make a leap of faith to either believe there is a God or there isn't. There is no absolute proof of the existence or non existence of God. Therefore to make a choice on that matter is a BELIEF.
JLifter 10 months ago
@JLifter LMAO. Atheism isn't making a choice on the existence or nonexistence of God. You were born an atheist. You didn't believe in God. That's an atheist. The very basic thing you should learn when "studying" atheism is what the freaking word means.

lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 Answer the question. Do you think those people your religion claims are being tortured deserve it? The bible is no evidence. It's just a book. A book full of ridiculous fairy tales and contradictions so that only a complete idiot could ever believe it. But I don't believe you believe it. You've never read the bible. I want you to actually read the entire thing. You'll lose a lot of faith in your religion if you do. I can observe the wind and buildings. God is undetectable.
itarethetroll 1 year ago
@itarethetroll Im sorry i cannot answer that.Im not the judge,God our Father is.Only He can say who deserves to live and who deserves to die..Do not try to make me question my Father. Its not just a book. Its my future, its your future.if i were to answer it,i would be upset at myself,bc i am a sinner, but instead i have faith, and hope and pray God shows us all mercy, for we are all sinners.Maybe Fairy Tales are not such a bad thing,bc sometimes we dream to live in them.I want them to come true.
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@itarethetroll No i have never read the whole Bible.I do know that God does not play. But He would not punish us if He did not loves us & did not think of us as His children. From young to old.I punish my kids bc I love them & want them to know right from wrong.my faith will remain strong, the more of the Bible I read, the more I fear my Father & makes my belief & faith stronger in Him & Jesus Christ His Son,Our Lord and Savior.Keep ur comments,ur wasting ur time with me.
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 Exactly. You "believe" out of fear. Your living in an imaginary North Korea. Would you punish your kids by eternal torture? Would you lock them up in a basement and hire people to torture them while keeping them alive as long as possible? Why don't you read the Bible? If I thought a book was the word of god, I would read it every day.
itarethetroll 1 year ago
@itarethetroll No I dont believe out of fear.I believe and know what could happen if I didnt.I fear Him bc He could put me to eternal death.Just like growing up I feared my dad bc he spanked me when I was bad.But our Father is forgiving, and Jesus Christ is how we are forgiven.I know the bible is the word of God.See this is how satan grabs people.Have u not heard of the parable of the sower? If u read the Bible as u calimed u have then that should be very familiar.im not goin to be snatched away.
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 If god can forgive, then why doesn't he just forgive instead of making a blood scapegoat sacrifice? "I know the bible is the word of God"
HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT? WHAT PROOF DO YOU HAVE? Also, claiming "satan" is grabbing me away is just laughable. That's one of the most ridiculous myths people believe. lol.
itarethetroll 1 year ago
@itarethetroll Ridiculous to u.satan can sift u away as wheat, and ur laughter will come to an end on judgement day.I dont need proof to believe or evidence,ok,i have said this and im repeating myself,ur just not listening because ur not letting God have a place in u.I dont have time for this.I hope u find the truth one day,i honestly do,And if u understood the Bible, then u would know the truth,u say y cant He forgive,Well listen to what ur sayin about Him,Ask Him in Jesus' name and mean it.
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 "I don't need proof to believe or evidence"
Then your belief is meaningless. You hold it for no good reason. I'm not letting God have a place for me? What about people who lived in places where Christianity was unheard of? They're burning in hell because your imaginary friend didn't feel like having a place for them? durp durp. But you're right, this is a waste of time, because you haven't read the bible, you don't know anything about your own religion, and you don't think.
itarethetroll 1 year ago
@itarethetroll No i said ur not letting God have a place in u,i didnt say for u.ur not listening to me.and no,those people are not burning becasue they have not heard God word so they will be ok.He would not punish if they had not heard of them. And u do not know me so how can u tell me what I know and what I dont. And I will be learning about the truth til the day I die.u keep sayin religion, its truth, faith, and if i dont keep mine and have God and Jesus in my heart then I have no purpose,no life.
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. You believe all of this nonsense for no reason. You are ridiculously credulous.
itarethetroll 1 year ago
@itarethetroll The new testament is the only proof, but u have made ur decison, what i believe should be no problem to u,so i will say no more
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 That isn't proof. What about the Quran, the Vedas, or the Upanishads? They are just books. Being written in a book does not make something true. Before using the New Testament as evidence you have to have evidence taht the New Testament is true. Of course several claims in the New Testament are proven to be ridiculous nonsense, so we know that's impossible.
itarethetroll 1 year ago
@itarethetroll You know, when Jesus Christ was here, actually standing on the earth,no one believed who He was then and He was here in person,NO ONE will convince me different,u have ur beliefs and I will bother u with mine no more,ok,if u need evidence, then thats u,i need no sign, and know those who want a sign, its says in the Bible, none will be given.
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 So, your god will only give salvation to people who want to commit intellectual suicide and believe something for no reason? Lol. Ok. I'll leave you alone now.
itarethetroll 1 year ago 2
@itarethetroll God gives salvation to those that CHOOSE to receive His free gift. Intellectual suicide is a subjective opinion when it comes to theology or philosophy. Deism, theism, Christianity, other beliefs and even atheism are all in themselves faiths.
If you only go by science and believe what science states about the universe and evolution you can only be agnostic. Anything beyond that going towards belief in God or non belief is a faith.
JLifter 10 months ago
He said "Read your Bible daily and obey it.". So that means that I should stone my children to death if they are unruly, gluttons and drunkards (Deuteronomy 21: 18-21). I can HAVE slaves and I can beat them as long as I don't kill them immediately. If they last a day or two after the beating and then die everything is fine (Exodus 21: 20-21). If i stumble upon any non-believers then I should kill them on the spot (Deuteronomy 13: 6-10). I am going to be pretty busy.
CynicalSkeptic1 1 year ago
@CynicalSkeptic1 Of course not. When Jesus came, rules changed, out with the old and in with the new,but God wants us to love Him above all, even our own kids and parents,of course He does not want us beating anyone or stoning our kids or kill non believers,we are suppose to confess Christ to everyone
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 The problem is that just because God 'changed the rules' doesn't mean that he didn't want the violence to take place initially. He did want beatings, stonings, and to kill non-believers. Just because he may have changed his way of thinking doesn't mean that he wasn't a violent and malevolent God before the New Testament. He still did all the atrocities in the Bible. Those didn't just magically disappear because most people stopped following the Old Testament.
CynicalSkeptic1 1 year ago
@CynicalSkeptic1 God did not approve of any of that.He made laws to ameliorate the practices of that time.
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 You said "God did not approve of any of that." Excuse me, but he commanded many of these things to take place!! Just because the New Testament doesn't have so many of the heinous acts of the Old Testament, it is still YOUR God who did these awful things. Just because people don't follow the Old Testament now doesn't change the fact of the things he supposedly did in that time.
CynicalSkeptic1 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 Also, Christians used to execute people for being witches. They changed that law and now they don't execute witches. Does that mean that those evil executions never took place? Of course not! Executing supposed witches was just as evil then as it is now. It is just times have changed and now we don't do it. That certainly doesn't mean that executing witches was 'just fine' in that day and age. Time passing doesn't mean that evil deeds are no longer evil.
CynicalSkeptic1 1 year ago
@CynicalSkeptic1 I just said to u God made laws to ameliorate the PRACTICES of that time. The world was not suppose to go that way of course.Look,God is merciful and loving.Without Him my life would be meaningless.Believe what u want about Him,bc u seem to have it sown in ur heart how u feel, and Im truly sorry for that.I hope one day u change ur mind.Jesus Christ can change that if u ask for forgivness, and take Him into ur heart, and God will dwell there and u will be full of light & happy forever
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 Again, I have to disagree with you. The God of the Bible is certainly NOT merciful and loving. If anything, he was vein and malevolent (and petty in many instances). I used to be a Christian for twenty years so I have seen both sides of the fence, so to speak.
You said you hope one day that I will change my mind and take Jesus into my heart. I just hope one day that you open your mind to see all perspectives. Good luck with your religion. =)

lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 The Bible says that unbelievers should be "put to death", isn't that an attempt to force people to believe? Education involves research, but how does one research a claim which has no proof, evidence or reasonable logic? One does not choose belief, but one can ignore evidence. I want evidence, no one will provide it, why? Those who want to know something ask questions. Those who believe they have the answers do not ask questions, nor do they accept new information.

John 13:33,36,37; John 14:5; John 16:5
Remember, its you who claims to believe child rape is righteousness, it's you who claims slavery is moral, it's you who claims a perfect human doesn't have the ability to remember being asked a question multiple times... The bible says many more things than what a preacher would "quote" to you.

@ProfessorPEARL Its a sad thing when people like urself try to turn God's word around.Lev.25:44 Foreign slaves could be bought, sold, inherieted like oither property. This does not mean God approves of slavery. He made laws to ameliorate the practices of that time.Num31:18,35 Of that time Women of God are to be VIRGINS and pure.Of course God does not agree with rape.where do u see God agrees with that?John13:33,36,37know that the disciples were slow to comprehend, and were as "little children"
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 Turning "god's" word around involves reading it in black and white? So we should interpret the evil away? And, no, it 's your god's rules. If it did not approve it would have made rules against it, "just as the nations do."
"But all the WOMEN CHILDREN, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves" Not for god, for the men to have sex with. Were they willing participants having their mother, father, brothers aunts, uncles, and cousins killed?

@ProfessorPEARL they didnt understand at first.john 16:5 none of you asks Me,"Where are you going?":Peter had asked this very question (13:36) and Thomas suggested it (14:5)However things are different now.The disciples had learned about denials, suffering and death. To go with Jesus involved more serious consequences.Jesus came and so did a new order. That is why we are ALLforgiven if we repent and believe.my God and my Savior love us all more than we love ourselves or anyone else.have a good day
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 Jesus was asked on more than one occasion the very question which he complains about not being asked. Either he forgot that he was asked, or the writer forgot the story they were writing. Sort of blows a big hole in that whole "perfect son of god" thing...
What sort of loving being would create a place of eternal torment for those it would claim to love? You are warped in your thinking if you truly believe love means creating a place to torture your children when "bad".
ProfessorPEARL 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 And lets just drive the point home. You believe the bible is the word of god. Your book states the descendants of Ham are supposed to be slaves to the other descendants of Noah. You believe all of African descent should be slaves. You believe the U.S. Constitution is in error. You are anti-America, & pro-slavery. I'm sure plenty of Jews heard, "have a nice day" from their Nazi captors, so please save it for your children whom you would torture for eternity.
Fair tidings.

@lovinggodsword850308 When you say "I'll pray for you" you're just being insulting, you pretentious filth.
itarethetroll 1 year ago
@itarethetroll when i say ill pray for u,i am not bein pretentious.there is nothing wrong with letting someone know u will pray for them,i dont say it all showy as u think,i say it in honest, and i mean what i pray.I hope i get prayers as well to be honest. But when u read my comment that is just how u took it.When i say ill pray for u,I pray for people to turn toward God and have faith and to believe on Him and His Son Jesus Christ. It is not filth,im sorry u feel that way,and sry u took it wrong
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago
@lovinggodsword850308 When you realize you can't persuade intelligent people of your religion because there is no reason or evidence for believing in your stupid cult, you say "I'll pray for you", implying that we "just don't get it", and you don't present any arguments or reasons for the truth of your religion. That's very insulting. If you weren't a pretentious retard you'd just accept that we have no reason to believe your religion is true.
itarethetroll 1 year ago
@itarethetroll u dont persuade someone to have faith. You either have faith or u dont,u can either believe or not.Its a choice.u may not believe what I do.when i say ill pray for u,i pray that u will accept God's word.i dont have to present any argument to explain myself or what i believe.I know who is right and true.It Jesus Christ, and only through Him can u get to God.its not a happy idea for me or ANYONE to be in a lake of fire for eternity.how is that insulting?my feelings are honest :)
lovinggodsword850308 1 year ago

I saw this and ordered some of these. Must not have been paying attention -- funny, I received 100 bundles of 100 million dollar bills, each. 10 billion dollars! I have alot to pass out. I just tell people that I ordered these Bible tracts and they are great, they have a message on the back. Brings a smile.
