He was beat up for revenge. The victim in the video was reported to be part of a 20 man crew that assaulted two of the assailants in the video.

@Mrjulicaro I agree with your anger, but you're speculating as to the offenders motive for attacking the victim, which is causing false rumors. This wasn't racially motivated, That doesn't excuse them for what they did, but don't twist the story around and make it worse.

@Mrjulicaro The investigation report said... "McCarthy said the attack was not racially motivated, but was in retaliation for an earlier incident, in which 20 people attacked two teens."
A couple of the alleged offenders were also of Asian descent. You can find this on CBS Chicago.
