There is no unequivocal evidence that circumcision reduces the risk of HIV contraction. For every study that reaches this conclusion there is another which contradicts it entirely. Secondly there are studies which show potential benifits to female circumcision in reducing a woman's risk of contracting the virus. Why are we not also launching campaigns to circumcise girls?
