I could hear them from the nosebleeds in the center of the stadium, I could not hear portland fans at all.

If Portland was really louder in Qwest field than the Sounders supporters in Qwest field, I wouldn't have a problem saying so (It's not like I have a personal stake in how loud Sounders fans are). They're not, it would be stupid to expect them to be, and it's kind of stupid to say they are. 1 fraction of 1 section is literally not louder than 30,000 other people in a semi-closed space.
