My friend just bought one of this. I dunno what the big deal is about with this fake sports car. This car can't drift. This car takes 25 seconds in 0-60 track. This car is TOYOTA ffs! Unless this car came with the girl in the vid, I wouldn't ride it. If it did, I'd ride both.
@hkenso I put it up for sale when I moved to the UK in 2007. I didn't find any buyers before I left and kept it with my old roommate, so when I came back in 2009 it was waiting for me! I've now paid it off and plan to keep it as long as possible, per my dad's advise - I think his words were "Keep it, you're going to love it when you are 50. I wish I still had my little MG"

In Europe and Australia it is known as the MR2 Roadster, in Japan it is known as the MR-S, and in the United States, it is known as the MR2- Spyder. It is the same car but has different names for different markets, do your research before you flame
do your research. You obviously don't know the 1ZZ-FED ECU in the MR2 Spyder 00-05 is set up for 87, not only is it not better in the MR2 Spyder it may make your engine dirtier with carbon deposits as ignition timing is set up for 87. octane is a measure of how much pressure can it take before spontaneous combustion. 87 is just as good if not better in this car.
no. your not. the manual for my 2000 MR2 spyder says 87 octane. if you run premium the ECU isnt set up for it, and you get worse mileage due to ignition timing. when you FI or 2ZZ then yes by all means run premium

An update: Car no longer for sale :) and the best thing about having garaged her for a couple years is that the mileage has been kept low - yay!

Standard my ass. Toyota spyder MR2 1.8liter 16v and 4 cylinders. Toyota Spyder MR-S is one of MR2 which already boost-up.
Another tips: MR2 make a lot of lousy noise on the road. IF you like the car with a lot of noise like Honda, you will like it.

well said.

I think someone else should do their research better. Well, I'm glad that here in Finland gas stations sell only 95 and 98 octane gasoline.
Hint word: "knock sensor"
kastemato123 3 years ago
The users manual says 87. But you need 93 if you put a turbo on it.
a96probegt 3 years ago 2
87! :( You're supposed to run 91+ in these cars :(
