FINALLY FOUND IT! i kid you not, i've spent around 2 years looking, on and off. i had no idea what the title was. just remembered bits and pieces. thank you so much for posting!
This cartoon absolutely has tons of "soul" . It is very tragic ~huge sigh~ that nowadays, most all cartoon creators DO NOT HAVE A CLUE of how to make a cartoon like this real gem. And, even at my old age (58), there is something about the arrangement of the opening and closing music "To Spring" (by Edvard Grieg) that always makes me emotional. Any one else feel that way about the music? Just wondering. Have a good one everybody!
Haha, I'm working on figuring out the music for this and on this video the key is a half step lower and the video is 30 seconds longer than a different recording I found.
I watched this so much as a kid, im only 19 now and its made in 1936, so its not really in my time but my parents might have watched it as kids and showed it too me, it just poped in my head 1 day and i goodled "its time for spring i say" hahaha thanks for posting this :)
I love this cartoon! I used to watch it when I was a kid but in spanish. Do you by any chance have a link to watch it in spanish? Thanks for posting it! I told my boys about it and now they're able to watch it too.
I used to have this on VHS along with Christmas Comes but Once A Year(1936), Jack Frost(1934), and Mickeys Christmas Carol(1983)
I cant believe I found these vids and that other people remember them just as I do. I used to watch these videos all year. Brings back so many memories :)
I had this on VCR and I loved it when I was a kid. I can only remember the pictures because I was too young to remember sounds. Awesome that someone posted this!
which melodies of his are in this.. is it the industrial sounding part at 2:57 cause I've been trying to find that tune for the longest time its also in the final trading scene of trading places
this was 1936? wow omg i thought i was the only person who remebered this lol. whenever anyone says its almost time for spring all i think of is this stupid song with the little guy saying time for spring, time for spring i say! lol
@RetroGirl85 this was a family favorite at my house. anytime we'd have a warm spell followed by a cold snap we'd all be walking around the house singing time for spring i say, with my dad singing bloooOOOOoooow. Glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks of this. but who knew this was 75 years old?
Love this short; they sure don't make cartoons like this anymore. *Sigh* Today's cartoons just don't cut it with me; give me the classic Walt Disney animation or Bugs Bunny anyday.....FIVE stars!
Fave cartoon ever!

These were shown in theaters before the main movie back in the day. They took
an incredible amount of hard work to make, because before computers real
artists had to draw & paint each plate to assemble into an animated cartoon.
AMAZING! This illustrates that life is a BATTLE, just like the battle we are in
now against evil that would make the planet into a prison and turn America
into a 3rd world slave state. WAKE UP, FOLKS!
Time to FIGHT for our nation & freedom from bankster- hijackers.
