Hands down, best guitarist to ever play. Considering his time in the light...he's still way way way above Van Halen, Hendrix, Vaughn, Malmsteen, Satriani and those in his time such as Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed. If ur still not sure, just listen to him play "Guitar Wizard" live on the Odd Couple show...or any of his other instrumentals. He's untouchable to this day
All I can say is youtube "guitar wizard" Roy Clark on the Odd Couple show. Simply amazing. Shows who really is the standard for pure guitar playing. Then Look up Joe Pass and Roy Clark. I love youtube and the people who put their treasures out for everyone to see.
He was born April 15, 1933. If this clip was filmed in the mid-1960s, Roy would have been in his early 30s. Hard to believe that he's 78 and, hopefully, still picking and grinning somewhere!
This was filmed in Toronto on a TV show called Star Route in the middle 60's. The host was Canadian movie actor Rod Cameron. Glen Campbell was a regular on the show.

No wonder Roy got the reputation that he did! The faces and the mugging are just as fun as the lightnin' pickin!
