I had one of these given to me today. It is in much need of repair. The bellows are totally gone. I am planning on rebuilding it starting with the bellows and resevoir.
Very nice organ indeed. Mine is called "The AEolian Organ" & Music Company, New York. The stops are divided on each side of the player unit. I think mine has 6 or 7 rank of reeds. What I am trying to figure out is if the keyboard plays independent of the player mechanism. I hope I have not bit off more than I can chew....
@ChucklesKeys Send me a photo of your instrument to smccaskill@kc.rr.com and I would be happy to help you identify which model you have. Player reed organs are extremely complex. Have you rebuilt any reed organs or player pianos? Those skills are transferable and very helpful. Best Regards, Stuart
I have for sale an Aeolian 48-rank residential player pipe organ with over 200+ Duo-Art rolls. Completely restored/releathered, with digital relays and digital tape player added. Roll player works perfectly. 200+ Duo-Art rolls. Located in Pasadena, CA. Originally installed 1931; has never been moved.
I have to have it completely removed by August 31, 2010. Price: $75,000 or best offer.
More details can be found on my listing on ebay or on my website, VintageKeysAndPercussion.
@DuoArtDanOz Its a neat little piece of music that shows off well on this particular organ. Once I am able to do a ground up restoration on it, things will be smoother. I don't have a lot of stop selection right now because the mutes are leaking and I can't shut off reed sets the way I need to. Its pretty much full throttle. Thanks again for looking!
Many thanks.
