thanx to you fur is pretty easy now, but now im stuck again. how did you make the nose and the eyes on your animals? they look so realistic its crazy. maybe you could make another tutorial?
Hey this is a great video! I really enjoyed your instructions. Thank you!! Also, I appreciate it when people don't put music on the videos for stuff you need to concentrate on watching. :P
What I would LOVE to know is how you managed to mod your brush selector to 1 single column that you have docked on the RHS of the monitor,,, That is a Masterpiece in itself!!! Can't do it with custom palettes and not aware of any settings that'll let you do that with the Brush selector palette... Please up a tut on that aspect... really useful and a total space saver.. Would love to be able to do this in X 0r 11 with custom palettes but they seem to have a minimum width assigned.
WOW!! u r amazing!! & i really like ur tutorial , very well explained thank you! I'm new in corel painter & kinda lost but trying to get whatever i can from the best :)
I put on Kiss the Rain by Yiruma, because I figured it wasn't too distracting, right before the text where it said 'practice makes perfect', and it made me feel all deep and meaningful ^_^
Wow, this tutorial is awesome! I have corel 4 so i don't have just a basic oil tool and the one i had didn't work well, it kept putting white pixels in the dark colors. I was able to do it properly with colors like the ones you used, but i can't seem to do it right when i try to make the colors inverted. i'm trying to do a drawing of a "black" wolf (the black/brown variety of the grey wolf), it has a dark shadow, a lighter grey brown mid coat and then black tips. any suggestions?
muy bueno!! xD impresive... all draw start with a simple base and tecnique, this is true (my english sucks but I really like this video xD) practica y pasciencia!!
wow, those pictures do look real... Im confused how you made the fur look so realistic, Im also new and have started working on a wolf. but my hair looks like **** ;o). Could you pm me your settings for the fur brush? thank you.
Thank you, but a "tier" is just another word for a row :) not another layer but you can do them in multiple layers, you'll just have a crap load of layers. I don't really use this technique anymore, I custom created a brush for fur and hair.
go for it, I use it everyday, my DA account is WickerWolfArt, but if you look up PS KABLES WARRIOR you should find a pic of a horse I did and that should get yout to my account and check out my stuff.
I actually don't use this technique anymore, I'm prob not even gonna upload any more vids of me painting, it helped a lot of people, and if it didn't help you that's fine.
I've never used PS, but from what I've seen it seems to have much more features than any Corel product. Corel is cheaper but you get what you pay for.
well you have layers right? There should be a tool on the upper right tool box that looks like an arrow with a + under it, that will move the layers. If you want to strip the image off the canvas and make it a seperate layer just select all and then click on the image once with your pointer + tool.
Never :O!? Skype :S? Any whos, I love your work, it's great. I too hope one day you can make up your own drawings, and I'm sure i won't take you long ;)
Agh, I love this tutorial. I have Adobe Photoshop, so I really can't do this since I don't have that kind of brush. But the technique will most definitely be applied in my next speed paint. =]
I've done 2 tutorials for her now, and she hasn't drawn a thing :( But this video has gotten a lot more views (per month) than my other videos and has been faved 12 times, so I'm hoping that it is helping a lot of people.
When I opened all that crap I was just messin around, I actually edited that part out. I zoomed in to show you the hairy texture the oil brush had made. For my specific brush I use the selection "oils: Flat Oils 40."
I found one that is the closest I am going to get and it really doesn't look like fur at all. It might a little after I follow the video because I was trying to do it from memory.
Yeah but you popped open a whole list of stuff then clicked on the third or fourth one then said yay now it's a furry texture. I don't have the furry texture thing.
wow... just wow

Never used it myself, though I know a very good artist that uses Open Canvas

@foofie8285 If u want to paint with Gimp, u should get Gimp Paint Studio for it and also the mixbrush plugin.
You might want also try out other freeware drawing programs like: Krita, MyPaint, and Pixia (or Phierha) and maybe Inkcape

wolffreak4life 2 years ago
When I opened all that crap I was just messin around, I actually edited that part out. I zoomed in to show you the hairy texture the oil brush had made. For my specific brush I use the selection "oils: Flat Oils 40."
109367 2 years ago
Ok i'm pretty sure I don't have that. I'll just use whatever is closest to it.
wolffreak4life 2 years ago
Yeah I don't even know what those numbers mean, Just test several brushes until you find the right one.
