  • wow... just wow

  • thanx to you fur is pretty easy now, but now im stuck again. how did you make the nose and the eyes on your animals? they look so realistic its crazy. maybe you could make another tutorial?

  • Hey this is a great video! I really enjoyed your instructions. Thank you!! Also, I appreciate it when people don't put music on the videos for stuff you need to concentrate on watching. :P

  • hey wouldnt you be able to click print screen then save it?

  • i have corel painter essentials 4 =3

  • What I would LOVE to know is how you managed to mod your brush selector to 1 single column that you have docked on the RHS of the monitor,,, That is a Masterpiece in itself!!! Can't do it with custom palettes and not aware of any settings that'll let you do that with the Brush selector palette... Please up a tut on that aspect... really useful and a total space saver.. Would love to be able to do this in X 0r 11 with custom palettes but they seem to have a minimum width assigned.

  • well, i know where to get corel 11 and corel x for free. At torrent (dot) com

  • Thanks for sharing,thanks a lot! <3

  • My brother would like to build the fur if it was lego.

  • You're AMAZING. But you already knew that, right? ;]

  • you can also use that for grass, right? cuz thats is great for grass too

  • OMG so helpful

  • I wish there was a free download, but I don't think there is. :(

anyway, this video is really helpful, thanks for sharing.

  • i cant find the download...its all like free trials and then u have to pay for it...is there a free download?

  • @annaroxx14

I haven't been on the site in a while, but I down loaded a free 30 day trial of the Corel Drawing Essentials

  • @109367 so did it last longer than 30 days?

  • @annaroxx14 You can still USE it after 30 days but you can't save your work and many of the features are no longer available

  • dang man youre really good at photoshop

  • great, simple tutorial. Appreciated mate, keep up the good work

  • omg i was wanting to know how to make fur tytytytytytytytytytytytytyty i will msg u when i get it down on how to use the fur style

  • Amazing, thanks mate! I normally use PS but this seems like a really AWESOME way of painting, the way i like it, oilpaint, right?

  • Where do you find the oil brush? Is this photoshop?

  • @Icoria5

The title clearly says Corel Painter X so no this is not PS

  • WOW!! u r amazing!! & i really like ur tutorial , very well explained thank you! I'm new in corel painter & kinda lost but trying to get whatever i can from the best :)

  • i love you lmao

  • I put on Kiss the Rain by Yiruma, because I figured it wasn't too distracting, right before the text where it said 'practice makes perfect', and it made me feel all deep and meaningful ^_^

  • and aslo i dont get it am i useing more than 1 color for this i see you using lots of color

  • wat brush do i use smeary round i am confuse

  • Did you paint those drawings at the end?! They are freakin' epicly amazing!!!

  • OMG!!!! This is so sososososo chool! I love that !

  • thanks it is very usefull.

  • your just so amazing!

  • Wow, this tutorial is awesome! I have corel 4 so i don't have just a basic oil tool and the one i had didn't work well, it kept putting white pixels in the dark colors. I was able to do it properly with colors like the ones you used, but i can't seem to do it right when i try to make the colors inverted. i'm trying to do a drawing of a "black" wolf (the black/brown variety of the grey wolf), it has a dark shadow, a lighter grey brown mid coat and then black tips. any suggestions?

  • That's beautiful! :)

I fail at fur... but this helps a LOT thank you! :D

  • Would you recomend gimp?

  • @foofie8285

Never used it myself, though I know a very good artist that uses Open Canvas

  • @foofie8285 If u want to paint with Gimp, u should get Gimp Paint Studio for it and also the mixbrush plugin.

You might want also try out other freeware drawing programs like: Krita, MyPaint, and Pixia (or Phierha) and maybe Inkcape

  • Oh my god! This is the most impressive thing I ever seen, but I don't know were the oilpensel is? ;s

  • What brushes did you use in this tutorial? The oil brush or something else?

  • @ZachCraft

    um what?

  • nice tutorial man :)

  • did u used mouse to do this???

  • muy bueno!! xD impresive... all draw start with a simple base and tecnique, this is true (my english sucks but I really like this video xD) practica y pasciencia!!

  • @marianocli008

Muchas gracias! Sus ingleis no es malo, mi esanol es muy malo hahaha!!!

  • GREAT 5*****

  • did u really draw the wolves at the end?! if you did WOW!!!!!

  • Youre awsome Tysm for sharing I been trying to paint my cat and was really sucking at it now I can practice =)

  • I mean ALL the stuff at the end looked real!!!!

  • WOW!! that husky at the end looked real!!!!!!!

  • i havent heard a tutorial with left blank two music would be nice

  • what is the newist corel painter called

  • i think its the 11th one

  • Waaaw, good job, it's simple, but looks so good. I use corel now, but i start with photoshop, so, it was a big jump to have best drawnings...

  • i like the art!! It's AMAZING and It's soooooo cute too!! x)

  • this gives me hopes to one day learn XD

  • Beautifully done, thank you for taking the time to show how you work.

  • very very very excellent work and tut. (high fives)

  • That was excellent! Amazing paintings at the end.

Is there some sort of comprehensive tutorial for painter x or does one have to just search out individual videos like yours? Thanks.

  • wow, those pictures do look real... Im confused how you made the fur look so realistic, Im also new and have started working on a wolf. but my hair looks like **** ;o). Could you pm me your settings for the fur brush? thank you.

  • *gasps* you DREW this! Oh my word! *favs*

  • great work!!

    Im new to painter,,,,

is a tier and a layer the same thing or is a tier within a layer?

your images look like photographs.... super good!

  • Thank you, but a "tier" is just another word for a row :) not another layer but you can do them in multiple layers, you'll just have a crap load of layers. I don't really use this technique anymore, I custom created a brush for fur and hair.

  • Re: wats up!

    WAAAAZZZZZZUUUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I use Photoshop Elements 7. Idk wut brush 2 use 4 that! :(

  • What is the size of the canvas?

  • don't remember, but when I paint I use a standard 1024x749

  • 10001st view :)

  • this is great thank you so much

  • go for it, I use it everyday, my DA account is WickerWolfArt, but if you look up PS KABLES WARRIOR you should find a pic of a horse I did and that should get yout to my account and check out my stuff.

  • That wasn't incredibly helpful... painting fur out of context isn't an efficient way to demonstrate technique.

  • I actually don't use this technique anymore, I'm prob not even gonna upload any more vids of me painting, it helped a lot of people, and if it didn't help you that's fine.

  • thats awesome. Very helpful. Thanks for showing this.

  • Thank you so much for the tutorial

  • how much does this program cost?

  • mine was $93 from office depot, the site has it advertised for like alomst $200

  • wow o.o pppppprrrroooo XD

  • You are so great!

Most ppl use ps, but as you I use Corel and you really helped me with this, I'm looking forward to draw more realistic fur ^___^ Thank you so much!

And the way you draw.. it's fukken photorealistic, literally takes my breath away. How much time do you put in such a masterpiece of art?

  • I found a better brush that works alot faster and looks like fur, its one of the very last oil brushes, like "variable round" or something.

  • As an artist, what app would you point me for digital painting?!?!

    Photoshop or Painter?!?!

  • I've never used PS, but from what I've seen it seems to have much more features than any Corel product. Corel is cheaper but you get what you pay for.

  • Corel Painter hands down :)

It gives you lot more access to mediums that you're already used...

get a wacom tablet and you're good to go :)

  • Do you enjoy your tablet? I've never had one and people talk about them all the time, don't see what the big deal is :P

  • What brush/tool are you using, in this video? Acrylic? Custom?

  • Oils, but now I use the wet impasto brush, then go over it again with a bristle brush blender of thin distorto tool.

  • WOW!!! Big big leap between the example and your masterpieces. The help is a great start though and the paintings beautiful.

  • Thank you so much! I really appreciate the help..

  • I have a question. I'm new to Painter x and I was wonder if there was a way to shift your entire image on the canvas. I have a mac by the way.

  • well you have layers right? There should be a tool on the upper right tool box that looks like an arrow with a + under it, that will move the layers. If you want to strip the image off the canvas and make it a seperate layer just select all and then click on the image once with your pointer + tool.

  • is coral painter x free?

  • Mine was $93 but you can download a free 15 day trial on the official Corel site.

  • thanks!

  • Thank you so much for making this. I know you're not using it anymore, but it's really helpful for me. ^^

  • you're quite welcome!

  • Do you take requests?

  • Just so everyone knows, I no longer use this technique, it takes too long. I now use the IMPASTO brush :)

  • Very nice tutorial!! Great work. I'm looking forward to more from you. :)

  • I would love to see more of your tutorials. You are amazing!!

    Thank you for sharing

  • I would kill to be able to draw like that. My images are like 2D with no texture. Awesome job! <3

  • wow the husky looks so real its like i can touch its fur or u took a pic of a husky u do so much cool drawings

  • thank you, thats what I was going for :)

  • my favourite part was when u zoomed on the husky's ear fur xD

  • His ear hair is faaabulous!! (in my best gay guy voice)

  • Never :O!? Skype :S? Any whos, I love your work, it's great. I too hope one day you can make up your own drawings, and I'm sure i won't take you long ;)

  • Is there a way to do that in photoshop?

  • Oh I'm sure there is, from what I've heard both programs are quite similar.

  • Thank you.

  • It wouldn't be possible to somehow talk with you a bit about this program over MSN would it?

  • I've never used msn ???

  • Great Husky, I just wanna run my fingers through it's fur, lol

  • Thanx!

  • i can draw birds reallly nicely on paper, but if you want it on ms paint, ur asking too much. help?

  • Oh this is not ms paint, but in Corel I use the distortion tool to stretch things into an eliptical shape, it works pretty good for feathers.

  • i noe its not on paint lol. thanks for the tip though.maybe i will do good. :3

  • the wolf and husky at the end well was AMAZING!!!!

  • Thank you!!!

  • Oh wow! Amazing! Thank you so much for posting this! Do you have Deviantart?

  • Ur welcome, and no I don't have a DiviantArt account, but I do have a Flickr account, I am WickerDogArt there.

  • Thanks. I hope you'll have more Painter tutorials.

  • Ur welcome, what other kinds of tutorials do u need, I can make another one :)

  • Woah This Really Helps

    Nice Video

And Thanks For Hints On Painter xP

  • Thanx, fur can be really hard to paint, especially longer fur.

  • good job! Keep it up!!! ... & yes, your tutorial is quite helpful. Have a nice day! [` ',] \m/

  • THANX!

  • Agh, I love this tutorial. I have Adobe Photoshop, so I really can't do this since I don't have that kind of brush. But the technique will most definitely be applied in my next speed paint. =]

  • Thanx, I'm glad to see it's helping someone. The girl I actually made this for hasn't used it at all, kinda makes me mad.

  • Aw. I'm sure a lot of people have found it useful, even if she didn't. ^^

  • I've done 2 tutorials for her now, and she hasn't drawn a thing :( But this video has gotten a lot more views (per month) than my other videos and has been faved 12 times, so I'm hoping that it is helping a lot of people.

  • The Coral painter is magical. wonderful artist, you are!!!

  • Thanx

  • And the brush you used is it just called an oil brush? Because I have a bunch of brushes with oil in the name.

  • When I opened all that crap I was just messin around, I actually edited that part out. I zoomed in to show you the hairy texture the oil brush had made. For my specific brush I use the selection "oils: Flat Oils 40."

  • Ok i'm pretty sure I don't have that. I'll just use whatever is closest to it.

  • Yeah I don't even know what those numbers mean, Just test several brushes until you find the right one.

  • I found one that is the closest I am going to get and it really doesn't look like fur at all. It might a little after I follow the video because I was trying to do it from memory.

  • Good luck, if the oil brush doesn't work, you can try something else.

  • Ok thanks:)

  • Also is there another way I can do it?

  • I guess, but it won't look as good.

  • Where do you get the organizer thing? Because I am sure I don't have that. And if I don't will it still look a little like fur without it?

  • I just said you have to organize your fur, I didn't do anything fancy, just painted a layer of fur, then painted another in front of it.

  • Yeah but you popped open a whole list of stuff then clicked on the third or fourth one then said yay now it's a furry texture. I don't have the furry texture thing.

  • umm can u try to do a tutorial on how to do ur like horse and zebra eye witht he eyelashes cuz alot of ppl screw that up as well as me

  • youre really good! 8D your pictures looks like photos :)

  • Thanx, I'm hoping it helps the Corel users.
