    White= DVI

    they are both for monitors.

the blue one , VGA, is for most monitors

  • The white outlet on the back is for higher-quality graphics. Your computer will usually warn you when such an outlet is available.

It has power to it, because the fan works........but when I connect the VGA the monitor cannot detect it at all. I look at display settings and only the onboard nvidia graphics are displayed.

    Is my graphics card fried?

Can my motherboard even support an upgraded graphics card?

    Not sure!

waiting to be embarrassed by a simple solution that works!!

  • @Riddlerx333x: try installing the driver for your graphics card.

  • anyone know where i can buy a cheap, fair quality dvi enabled graphics card for a half size pc like a dell inspiron 530S

    (note: i live in england)

  • The white plug in is for older monitors. There are adapters for the new ones. If you have a GeForce 8800 it has the white outlets.

  • the white plug is for newer flat panel monitors with DVI connector (Best Picture) and the blue plug is for old and new monitors with AVG connector. If you have a choice, always use white plug!

  • does anyone know where to buy a graphics card

  • CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?

i isntalled my 4890 but everything on the screen tears and like has a drag effect that things and graphics do not follow everything gets like lines over htem .. anything moving gets that !

i ahve tried 2 different lcd screens , installed new drivers many times even uninstalled and installed......why am i experiencing this bad effect? i tried all resolutions and i tried all hz. plz! i payed alot.

  • I can think of a few reasons for this -

    1) The card you have is incompatable with your current system configuration.

    2) The card is not inserted correctly.

    3) The card is damaged.

  • It might be that you had integrated graphics go into bios disable them and it should work or you might have wrong mobo

  • "i don't know what this is for, but whatever..." =P

  • o gee.... my pc wont start... i guess i have done something wrong

  • thanks alot dude

  • wow thanks! never knew that it was soo easy!

  • Wow that "yellow thing" is a DVI port and nowadays most widescreen LCD monitors use it.

  • THX for the info

  • My pci geforce fx5200 (yeah its crap but better than whats in my comp now) card doesn't have the blue thing, all it has is a dvi slot but my monitor hooks up to my intergrated card, which does have the blue thing of course. Any suggestions??

  • You probably have a graphics card built into the hard drive. You need to disable it.

    Check google on how.

  • its built into the mobo not the hard drive

  • do most modern computers have several power connectors, coming off the PSU?

    (eg: 6pin 8pin)

  • thats it? so simple???

  • this may sound stupid but a website told me to uninstall the previous card's drivers, do you really have to do that?

  • i mean when replacing one

  • Very much a yes on that one, driver conflicts can lead to system lock ups and crashes.

  • my motherboard has a Single PCI-E MB is that the same thing

  • you failed to mention that the black svideo type plug is used to TV out or some adapter that comes with your new video card - in the box.

Also why dont you do into more detail eg. Disabling your built in or on board video card in the BIOS first before putting that on in , and show how to install the drivers.

I give this video a 2-10 because its sucks and DVI has been out since 2001 so you should know what it is used for LOL!

  • Dude cut some slack ... some people have a life and have better things to do but search BIOS, DVI etc.

  • wow that white thing is a DVI and the is better then VGA dumb ass DVI is for 1080P

  • Maybe its just me but I don't think performance was at the top of the list for this one. lol

  • its not that bad though plays DX 9 games great

  • hmmm also a bit of performance difference to, well a lot actually.

  • that graphics card is shit, should of gotten a Radeon 4870x2

  • how much u put into tht computer

  • thx a lot man this video helped me out a lot

  • thanks very much :P

  • Thanks man u helped me a lot (CcMattycC

  • Fuck you thats a very nice video card bitch

    compatible with DX 10

  • Im getting a geforce 8500gt For X-mas XD

  • Lol, what a shitty card you get..

  • erally, that card so soo outdated... not much performence

  • The white is what most new monitors come on now, you can get VGA/DVI adapters, if you still use a VGA monitor like mine, and still be able to use your card.

  • Hey, I just got a hd 4850 and I need a new power supply, but first I need to know if it will fit inside my case and my old card(8600gt) which I can't remove, has a little cable connecting it to motherboard... this may sound noob but how do I remove it? the little white one, thx :)

  • Blue: VGA, the standard monitor plug.

    White: DVI, HD monitor plug.

    :)

  • blue=vga , white=dvi , black=svideo

    thanks

  • hey dude....I'm gonna have a guy install the card for free...but...would my computer's power supply be sufficient enough for a Galaxy Zeus 5500 AGP Video Card? My power supply is 250 watts...thanks in return

  • it should work if you don't have your computer packed with alot of hardware

  • hi i got a laptop and i want to know can i takeout the processor of the laptop and the CPU of the laptop?

  • srry ment graphics card

  • I've got a aTi card ...

I want to change my graphics card with a mighty one,

    well,

can i install a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX in my computer ? (please look at it's size =D) ..

cause if you look at the back of my comp, you can see my graphics card at the top of all slots.

  • You should state your rig first so that people will know if your rig is suitable.

  • well Ima make my own computer now

the rig would be CoolerMaster HAF 932

  • Your rig -.- not your case only .

  • RIGHT ON DUDE!! :D

  • very cool, i got a static wrist band soon so when it arives i'm gonna try to install my graphics card :)

  • Right on dude! :)

  • yeah i apparently got the wrong card :(

  • I'm sorry :(

  • ty nice vid

  • does it make a difference on what screwdriver you use and also can you keep the old graphix card prinstalled or do u have to et rid of it

  • Some of them need power supplies others do not. Look for the square connector that comes out of the power supply. You need to connect that to a similar looking one connected to the graphics card.

  • Two words: Cable management!

  • video was great and useful, but they told me that changing the grafics card could effect in some way the computers performance, is that true?

  • yes, if the graphics card is better than the on you have, your computer will run games and applications that utilize the graphics card a little quicker. The quality of the graphics can be better depending on the game.

  • Great video, too much camera blur tho.

  • Yah, I got a terrible camera at the moment.

  • chyea well give me that and your card :P i wouldnt mind

  • yes the white port is a DVI port and it provides a better picture image also it is a faster cable almost like HDMI so you could get better refresh rates than VGA the blue port. Higher refresh rates give you less screen tear, ghosting, and image blur.

  • hey, thanks for the info.

  • my dad's pc has dat, not mine though

  • what case do u have?

  • Xion Mid-Tower Computer ATX Case: a cheap case that cost $60

  • even though that case is cheap that case looks really cool :)

  • can you teach us how to install a graphics card on a lap top?

  • It depends on the laptop, some can be upgraded but most cannot. I don't have a laptop that can be upgraded though.

  • The white port thingi is a DVI port. I believe it provides a better picture........ Don't hold me to that though. I'm not an expert on ports :P

  • thanks for the info. I should have looked it up lol. I know I've never used it though.

  • Nice video. I will use this video in the future =]
