  • "Captain, it's a single enemy fighter, and it's damaged!"

"Wildstar, use the Wave motion gun."

"Captain, it's the entire Gammalon Fleet! Do you want to use the Wave Motion Gun?"

"No, send out the Black Tiger Squadron. We'll fight them ship to ship."

  • The original "Quest for Iscandar" series is now being remade in Japan under the title SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO: 2199! Read all about it at starblazers . com — the official STAR BLAZERS website!

  • I used to be obsessed with this cartoon when I was 10. Easily the best storytelling cartoon of all time.

  • Interstella 7777 I keep thinking that...And DAFT PUNK

  • Every day after school religiously.

  • Thumbs up if you used to watch this in your underwear with a big ass bowl of cereal when you were a kid!

  • I laughed after i heard the theme song because i actually remembered the lyrics 30 years later.

THE BEST space cartoon ever made, hands down. Watched it everyday before school. Glad to see it found a home and still entertains after all this time. Thank you for keeping these alive!!

  • @MESH0WFAN The LIVE action version is very good too!

  • I used to get up early to watch this show, which came on right before Speed Racer.

  • love this show something from my childhood.

  • This set the standard for anime as it is today. I love this shit. I ran home from school also just to make it in time to watch what would happen next.

  • Hahaha this is fantastic. I couldn't to get home from school to watch this Thanks for posting!

  • I really love this anime series. it was a really good series.I am glad I found this on youtube.

  • one of the best cartoons ever made

  • I'm 40 years old & this JUST popped into my head during dinner tonight. I cannot believe others were so into this like I was was. AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • @bigdaddy1903 You gotta see the LIVE ACTION version!

  • @draxx77 Live action version... Really????

  • @bigdaddy1903 YES! I have a copy, VERY hard to find in the US. But youtube has some clips.

  • the concept of this show sure beat He-Man.. I only watched a couple episodes because it wasn't really mainstream which made it hard to find on the local channels. if it was on I dropped everything to watch it.

  • man, when i was like 8 yrs old. this was my most favorite show. all i got to say is that YouTube is incredible. its funny, while i was watching this i started to remember the episode. when i was that red message capsule that they found on Mars, something clicked and i was like "hey i remember that" HA!!

  • when i was a kid, this show blew my mind. so glad i found it again!!!

  • watched this all the time when i was a kid.

  • What is a MegaMeter?

  • @Fymious it's like a really, really big meter.

  • @Fymious 1 Million meters, which roughly equals 627.4 miles.

  • @CapyGuy Thanks for the info!

  • The art work reminds me of "speedracer"

  • i think its smarter to post the entire episode on YouTube and make money off of ads rather than post a small clip or a trailer or something that forces the person to buy the DVD.

    awesome job manga entertainment.

  • wow, its like im 10 again. i used to waste so much paper drawing that flying battleship.

  • Just a question, but... why are these rated TV-14?! I can understand rating the Live-Action Adaptation TV-14/PG-13, but not this!

  • I always called it "R starblazers" when i was a little kid

  • @theslothII me too lol

  • Is this copying robotech just saying

  • @TheFatpanda509 No, Robotech came out years after this.

  • @TheFatpanda509 Star Blazers -- Space Battleship Yamato -- was on the air several years before Robotech.

  • @TheFatpanda509 It's the other way around; this series spawned fans who became animators and created MACROSS (aka Robotech). The original STAR BLAZERS series was produced in Japan in 1974, the original ROBOTECH saga (Macross) was produced in 1982.

  • Yay they finally have it

  • I think the general at the Battle of the Bulge said it better with "Nuts" rather then "Idiots."

  • @schizoidboy Captain Avatar was saying the same thing, in Japanese "Bakame-da", meaning, "You're nuts/stupid/idiots/morons", etc. — the STAR BLAZERS version is just one translation of the Japanese phrase (which is probably closer to what McAuliffe said.)

  • Wow, that took me back, I haven't seen a Star Blazers episode in 30 years!

  • Watching this old school anime reminds me so much of all the Star Blazer Models I had in my room back in the early 80s and I even had all the ships from the Comet Empire.
