  • This is a Beethoevian Allegro with Juilliard-style performance history and, despite it all, wonderful instrumental resources.

  • kinda funny how it's titled clarinet trio when there isn't a clarinet in sight...

  • This is originally a clarinet trio. In this performance the clarinet part is being played by the viola.

  • bravo!!! great!

  • Great job! Your performance was full of emotion and sound innotation....bravo!

  • Sounds great even with a viola! This is my favorite piece.

  • I like the "even with a viola".

Brahms wrote his chamber music for clarinet because he was friend with a great clarinet player, but, as the sonata, I think it all really works amzingly with the viola.

The only thing is the writting is unconfortable: lot of arpeggios, fifths in the melody and so on...

  • I like the sonatas on viola as well, but I prefer the clarinet.

  • :-) Matter of taste.

I am very biaised as I am a viola player myself, hehehe.

  • It IS very knotty and elliptical music. That's what I love about it. I prefer it to his (more popular) Clarinet Quintet.

  • interesting sound with the viola... i like the original better though.

    nice performance.
