Secondly, I am quite sure the point was at a certain point you should begin paying more in taxes. The highest is what 35 percent... why not push that back up to 40 percent. @Hoschi0913 - A flat tax for all that would pay for a bare-bones gov't would be $10,000 per person or so, and would cause widespread poverty even among those working. Look into Paul Ryan's American roadmap's tax provisions. Those making under $100,000 per year pay 10% and everything over 100,000 per year is taxed at 25%. That tax structure would be far better than a 'flat tax.' Other than that, I absolutely agree with your internal economic policy.

When we have no peacemaking force around the world, it doesn't hold the most powerful nations in the world accountable for their actions. If anything, we should be far more active in the UN. I believe that the UN is worth tenfold the money that we put into it. We should just assert our power much more forcefully. A percentage, by definition, is not a flat tax, sir.

@Hoschi0913 - 'Flat tax' is one determined by number of dollars. Like my example of 10,000. A flat rate tax is different, in tax code wording is extremely important.

As for the UN, we have benefited from economic, political, and social alliances forged there. To withdraw would bring us back to the isolationist attitudes of Roosevelt. The UN is where a lot of details regarding trade like tariffs are hammered out. Otherwise, you wouldn't be on your japanese computer talking to me.

@Hoschi0913 - when you insert the word rate, it means percentage. The UN is where economic talks between countries are negotiated, not where they're enforced. I'll give you an example. Say the US wants to place a 25% tariff on all Japanese cars. Japan would first attempt to minimize this tariff, or could threaten a 50% tariff on something we export to them, like Big Rigs. They would use their position to negotiate a deal that's better for both parties.
