  • This was a well done video.

  • @leepattersonsound Thanks, Lee. I actually wish that I had spent more time figuring it out and practicing it a few times before shooting the video, though. I did it in too much of a rush!

  • Super!!!...you' re good!

  • @stratogui1 Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

  • Is your guitar standar tuned?

  • @endre1996 Yep, they both are.

  • How do you do that picking/pinching with your hand on the Dot? It sounds great. Do you know what I mean?

  • @MrPeteEa finger picking..?

  • @predben Yeah probably. I know how to do it with the thumb, but which string do I pluck with my fingers? The bottom three? Thanks

  • @MrPeteEa It's what you do at 0:35 and onwards.

  • @MrPeteEa It's just a little hammer on & pull off at the 4th and 5th frets of the B string. I pluck the string once with my right and then let the left do the rest. I hope that helps.

  • Very light, lithe and lively! A great "take" on this piece, thanx for posting!

  • @harryheadscom I just noticed your comment, thanks! Harry Nilsson is my favorite songwriter, maybe I'll record a couple of his songs that I do and post them someday...

  • WOW WHAT ARE YOUR SETTINGS

  • @MrMattDillon

Volume and Tone are all the way up on the guitars. The amp only has one knob (volume) set at about half. I believe that the best tone comes from keeping things as simple as possible. Unfortunately, the recording quality sucks.

  • Really, really good dude!

  • @DavidRayT Thank you very, very much!

  • really clever

  • @gwjib04 Thanks!

  • like your face :)))))))))

  • @tishigtuoi Thanks, I've had it all my life.

  • like your face :))

  • Just checking up on you Kevy, hows life in semi-famousville?

  • very nice, loved it. nice cool jazzy tune. keep up the good work. peace, ron.

  • @ronroberson Somehow, I think this comment got past me. Thanks for the kind words!

  • Wow thats embarrassing... I put ass instead of as, WOW :/

  • @MoonGaurd Haha, from now on, your name is "ass hawkmo!"

  • HAHAHAHAHA! I don't know if Facebook will approve of that, but I sure do!

  • @MoonGaurd Don't feel bad, I just noticed that I made an embarrassing typo on my facebook page tonight as well. Oops!

  • I know I saw that.. "tube" hahahaha

  • Hey its me Moongaurd.. Or David Hawkmo from facebook (My last name is Christoff but I put it ass hawkmo because I have a mohawk) Just wanted to tell you that I am trying to send this video to as many people as I can.

  • This is great, you deserve more views on all your vids;)

  • Thank you very much. I don't do anything to promote my videos, I just let people find them on their own but I always appreciate comments like yours. :-)

  • Very nice and groovy performance hehe. Can you please tell me which chords you used?

  • @mastercallec

Thank you very much. The chords are:

    Am - E - Am x2

    C - G - Am - E

    Am - E - Am

It's a great little progression to jam on, have fun!

  • It doesn't sound like the open ones. Where on the guitar do you take the chords?

  • @mastercallec

Am is barred at the 5th fret across the G,B and E strings with the D string at the 7th fret and my thumb holding down the A note on the low E.

E is played as if you were barring an open C chord at the 4th fret, with an open E string and no A string.

C and G are both barre chords using my thumb to hold down the low notes.

    I hope this helps.

  • Ok thx.

  • sweeet playing and youre funny lol

  • Thanks, I try not to be boring.

  • well you did it lol and you made this song even better man! you Epiphone sounds really good! hope to buy one someday =)

  • i love this

  • I love that you love this.

  • Furry Liz never sounded better.

  • Thank you very much! It took me a second to figure out what you were talking about, haha!

  • I have that epiphone dot too and it is fantabulous.

  • They are great guitars for the price.

  • Magical.

  • Thank you very much but there is no magic, it's just an illusion.

  • nice job once it starts swinging... if you have time check out my vid of fur elise i also add a bit of swing (but on piano)

  • It's a shame that this work of art goes mildly unnoticed...I mean really...you could get a record label for this!

  • Very well done. The Dockers. Damn I need some of those, I always knew there was one thing missing from my current set-up.

  • Thanks. I find that wearing the right pants can improve one's tone significantly.

  • I can't stop listening to this. Awesome arrangment. When the hell are you going to record a polished version "First Day"!?

  • Genius....

  • Be careful, you wouldn't want that to go to my head.

  • oh no i wouldn't......it will screw you if it does :)

  • Damn Kevy,AGAIN you take my breath away, keep it up.

  • Thanks. It's good to hear from you again!

  • Yea,same here,i got alot of your songs as my ring tones, and even though I have not shown it,or even talked to you in a while, I am still one of your all time biggest fans, and always will be....

  • Wait, you can do that? I never would have imagined that my songs would become ring tones! Very cool, thanks!

  • Yep,i currently have The Internet is Ruining My Life as a ringtone, and by the way,you should make a video dedicated to your big fans (Like me) ,and youtube, big youtube stars like yourself would get alot more popularity doing that, just a suggestion.

  • That's a good idea but I don't even consider myself a small youtube star. One thing is for sure though; if I ever did get super popular, I would definitely remember the people like you who were there early one.

  • Speechless. Wow.

  • I don't know what to say either! Thanks!

  • ironically, i have both of those guitars that you are playing. And I love them both. great guitars.

  • They are great guitars. I just traded the Dot for another Dot that is red because I also have an Epiphone Casino in Natural and they looked too much alike! I would recommend either guitar to anybody though.

  • that was AWESOME! respect, dude! : D to you and your .. 27 guitars. ;)

  • Thank you. I think I might have to buy a few more guitars though....

  • very good! *****

  • Thanks, and thank you for the other nice comments!

  • How many guitars do you have??

  • About 27 give or take a few. I'm too tired to count them right now but I know it's around that number.

  • Maybe get the "Rock Band" drum controller? Resulting sound might suck, but just say its part of your musical interpretation, artistic license- blah, blah, blah... ;)

  • Thanks. I have since gotten an electronic drum kit that has been working out nicely. No complaints from the neighbors yet....

  • dude i love it its like youve mixed old with new but keep everything in-between it marvelous i would love to get the tabs to that i play the guitar and the bass. ive never heard anything like it its beautiful man.

  • Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it. If I had tabs, I've send them to you but I don't use them. I figured the main song out by ear and then improvised the solo. If you have any specific questions, I'll be glad to answer them.

  • very nice dude, very nice indeed.

is that an epiphone special dot?

nice pro jet too,im getting one saturday, cant decide on which color though(they only have the silver and gold)

speaking of which, are those the stock mini-humbuckers or are those a different brand?

  • Thank you. The Epiphone is a standard DOT. The Pro Jet is a great guitar but I wasn't too crazy about the neck pickup (a little too muddy for me) so I replaced it with a silver P-90 that I found on ebay for $20. That's the pickup that I am using, not bad for $20! I do like the mini humbucker in the bridge though.

  • $20,wow...i might have to look for myself.i absolutely love the tone that your getting out of it.i love the facial expressions too,it gives the music alittle bit more life haha :P.are you still looking to be "famous" too?i might know somebody that could hook you up :).

  • I wish I could remember the name. It was a name that I had never heard before and when I tried to research it, I found nothing. It made me think that it was going to sound like crap because it was so cheap but I really like it!

I would like to be famous OR rich but I haven't decided which one yet. Both sounds like too much work to me.

  • Well I've been looking at some different ones, wondering which one you'd personally recommend.I've been looking at the Gibson p-90,Gibson p-94,and the Seymour Duncan Phat Cat....any suggestions?

I bet they would be a lot of work, and in the end i personally think they wouldnt be worth it.

  • The only ones of those I've tried are the Gibson P-90's, I have an SG with them and I love it! I've heard that Lollar and Fralin P-90's are even better but they are quite pricey. Good luck and let me know what you do!

  • exellent!! 5*****

  • Thank you very much.

  • dude how many guitars do you have?!

  • 21 Electrics, 3 acoustics, 2 basses and 2 banjos.

  • well you deserve it, this video is awesome. I was looking for epiphone dot videos because i want of those, so i 'll really appreciate your opinion about it, specially coming from a guy with 21 electric guitars, ha.

P.S. You should buy an uke...just kidding

  • im jealous of your collection :D

  • would just work super in a bluez cafe

  • Awesome! Wasn't expecting that at all!

  • Neither was I, thanks! I hope you get a chance to check out some of my other unexpected videos.

  • GENIAL

  • Gracias.

  • hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahha

    funny, cool sounds , great skill... perfect !! 5stars for u :)

  • Thanks, I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Be sure to check out some of my other videos if you like this one. ;-)

  • Awesome, if you do happen to get a CD or something of that sorts, please let me know!

  • Thanks! it should be about 4 months so keep your eyes open and drop me a line once in a while.

  • Is there anywhere I could download this version?

  • Sorry, no. I did the video in such a rush that if I did release an audio-only version, I would definitely want to record it again. I'm working on a CD so who knows, maybe I'll put it on there. (good idea!)

  • Amazing job, best ive ever seen!!

  • Thank you very much, closeupeyes. That is a huge compliment!

  • how does ur yellow guitar turn white at 0:33

  • Magic! Keep watching and you'll see it then turn black at 0:41!

  • that was cool , and u have so many guitars =D

  • Thanks. You can never have too many (or even enough) guitars!

  • Hey I don't know how you'd show me this but I really want to know what you are throwing together at 1:10 - 1:15. a video response would be huge! but i don't expect you to go through that kind of time. any help?

    ps. song rocked!

  • Hmmm, I'm not even sure what I did there, haha! If I get some time, I'd be glad to go over it with you. Remind me in a week or so and I'll see what I can do. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  • actually hw the epiphone dot guitar going?

im play difference music, like blues, pop rock~

is dat nice?i mean hw was the songs of the guitar?

  • The Epiphone DOT works especially well for blues and pop/rock. Actually, it does most things well except metal and country.

  • Could you send tabs for me?

  • Sorry, but I don't use them at all. If you have any questions about playing this, I'd be glad to answer them but no tabs.

  • nice improvisation, i am sure if u do it with caprice 24, that will be a rocker too!!

  • Thanks, I'll have to look that up!

  • Good!

  • Thanks. Are you going to post any videos of you with your DOT? If you do, let me know.

  • i love this song.i want to see all the personalities playing at the same time;))notice the tear

  • Hmm. I still think I should learn this song. Altough I don't think I will ever get the main riff out of my head. UGH!! It's driving me crazy!

  • Totally! If you have any questions about how to play it, just shoot me a message.

  • Ok cool. Thanks.

  • I laughed so hard when I read your list of gear and saw 'Dockers Jeans' on their. Which would you recommend, the Dockers or the Gretsch?

  • I'd take the Gretsch over the Dockers any day, but I could get arrested if I go out in public like that!

  • How do you like your Gretsch Pro Jet?

  • I love it. I just got home from playing out and although I brought an SG tonight, I was talking about my Pro Jet to another guitarist who was there.

  • very impressive!!!

  • Thank you.

  • wow im really envious lol thats awesome

  • Are you envious of my sailboat or my airplane? Oh wait, I don't have either of those but....

    Thanks for the nice comment!

  • Face the face man~! you did a good job here, and that's quite not much as I should say, you went awesomeness-------

  • Thanks! Your comment made me go happy!

  • Love your rendition of the song...

    Great Bass by the way!

    5 Stars

  • Thanks! I would have added drums too but living in an apartment does not make that possible. :(

  • awesome!! I never knew

you could play it with guitar

    that was very good.

  • Actually, I play it on guitar because I CAN'T play it on piano, haha!

    Thank you for watching/listening/commenting.

  • this covers great,

the faces u pull wen u play bass lol:D

  • You should see the faces I make when I'm playing drums, haha!

    Thanks for the comment.

  • is that the face cheech and chong talk about

  • My ggod u are amazing but i rkn u should of had like 4 boxes on the 1 screen so we can see you play all your instruments at the same time but still a madd job

ps those all your guitars at the back or are u at a guitar shop if they are urz i envy you

  • frubbo,

Thank you very much. I wanted to do a split screen like you suggested but I can't figure out how to do that yet. Maybe one of my future videos...

Also, I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but that's about half of my collection that you can see there.

    Take care!

  • chengon je je me mri de risa ja ja

  • I am going to assume that this is a compliment so, thank you! :-)

  • Wow, I loved this version. Great bass line by the way.

  • Thank you very much. I just checked out your channel and saw that you favorited this video so thank you again, I really appreciate it!

  • Dude right on with the Gretsch awesome job brother, very very nice

  • Thanks. I've wanted a Gretsch for over 20 years and when I got this one, I just had to show it off!

  • GREAT JOB I'M A FAN!

    (You should get another guitar.)

  • Thanks! I have gotten more guitars since making this video and I'm building two more! I really do need help...

  • hey i was just going through your videos (as you could probably tell haha). do you think you could make a video on how to make your own guitar? it's something i've been wanting to do for a while but i don't even know where to start

  • I started filming the two that I'm working on but I've been so busy lately that I don't know if I'll ever finish them! If I do, I'll be sure to post the video. It's pretty easy once you know what to look for. I suggest taking a cheap guitar apart just to see how it all works and then buy some good parts (pickups, tuners, neck, body, etc..) to piece together. Let me know if you do decide to build one and I can answer any questions.

  • thank you. i appreciate it

  • Awesome interpretation!!! THIS MUSIC IS AWESOME!

  • Thanks. I hope you get a chance to check out some of my other stuff as well.

  • awsome man.. 5 stars for you. by the way. love your guitars

  • the gretsch sounded really good as did the rest of the song.

  • guitars1776, thanks. I haven't had that guitar for very long but I really like it.

  • you are crazy and awesome... nice 335 :P

    5* + fav

  • RedGuitars94, I don't know about "awesome" but "crazy" seems about right. At least I must be to own so many guitars! Aaarrrghh!!!!!

  • ive seen ur other videos ur a genuise (that mite be spelled wrong)

  • dude thats awsome how did u learn that

  • Thank you. I just picked it out by ear from memory. I wish I had spent more time practicing it before making the video because I did it in one afternoon.

    Glad you like it!

  • Nice playing! Great tone too! What amp are you using? I dig this very much!

    Darryl Chafe

    Newfoundland

  • Thank you very much. I am playing through an Epiphone Valve Jr. 5 watt amp. I got it so that I would have a tube amp that wasn't too loud to play in my apartment but at 5 watts it is still too loud!

  • fantastic idea to play it that way! really interesting! 5*

  • omg u play good

  • and a gretsch electromatic exactly like that. Same great taste in guitars i guess!!

  • I have an epiphone dot exactly the same

  • amazing

  • you know what i take it bac
