It is a great piece. The unusual aspect is... the piece is composed guitarist, Stephen Goss, but the guitar gets lost in the mix. It is understood that the violins are important, but the guitar plays a role second to theirs not 99th behind the quietest member of the orchestra. Oh well. I like the piece and the music is great. Just not the mix
Dueling violins the way you all seem to be putting up your posts...no they jammed and sounded great together...play in your OWN STYLE....good thing..-Joni
btw, yes, sokolov's attitude's more like nervous....I mean, I don't blame him, just look at the context: You're playing with one of the best violinists nowadays, also you're in a good/important event, a lot of people's watching you, the piece is not so easy, and well....you're on tv ect ect
What kind of music is that. Blue grass or some kind of a rapid fire barn dance? Xue-fei is being used here. She appears no more than 25 seconds. Her guitar is hardly audible. And when it is, it sounds no more than a whimper. Classical Brit they call it? Classical brutes are more like it.
wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!

Valeriy Sokolov looks like he swallowed a frog, pretty uneased whereas David Garrett is very much at ease (like always).
@ joniguitar9: You're right, I guess it's a 12 string...

David seemed relax and confident the other Russian guy looked focused.
But they are amazing musicians.
