What happened to the slams? Practically every riff slammed on the 1.3.8 compilation. This is like classical BDM with occasional uninspired slams. It's good but doesn't really stand out like Molesting The Decapitated, Abominable Putridity's In The End of Human Existence, or even Ingested's two albums.

I find an immersive articulation with the lyrics. The vocals also embellish the cantankerous ululations of the instruments. This album sounds impeccable to me, immaculately executed. The imagination of this band is pulchritudinous.

@CursedAngelOfDoom666 completely agree, the guitars and drums are so heavy and driving, but when he starts singing its like....what the fuck. i saw these guys with cannibal corpse, dying fetus and vital remains, and i have to say they can all play good live, but i just dont care much for the words

@Mugthraka youre just not used to the style. dissonant music is hard for most people to comprehend. were so used to things being beautiful and harmonious (not to mention familiar) that when faced with the extreme opposite our brains become confused and bewildered.
death metal is something you have to ease most people into because they dont have the drive to understand and explore new things.
with that said, i recommend opeth if you wish to understand death metal.
My favorite track on this album, and my one of my favorite brutal death metal albums of all time too.
