to continue from my comment, I would like to add, those sick people were a minuscule portion of the actual users of those rooms. It was a sad day to see some lewd individuals ruining so much fun and positive experience for so many thousands of other people. The yahoo chatrooms really can be a source of great revenue by attracting traffic to Yahoo, as, right now, I personally have yet to find an alternative as rich as Yahoo's chat rooms once were.

The chatrooms used to be a wonderful place to randomly interact with strangers and meet new friends - however, with the removal of user-created rooms it has sunken to the lackluster form that many other chat services suffer from. Is it ever going to be on the table to bring back user-generated rooms, perhaps with some sort of moderation to keep the reason they were removed in the first place from being the destruction of them once more?
