You miss the point. He is being funny. The first laugh (before he starts singing) occurs because he leans into the mike as if he's about to start the verse, then he pulls away shaking his head like "Not yet, folks". Then the humor in the rest of the song should be obvious. If you ever see him live you'll learn that he has a great sense of humor and jokes around constantly, including making fun of the audience's reactions, and playing off of their reactions. He's very comfortable on stage.
