worked the river for many years. been 10 years since I've been back on the water. From the upper Miss , and lower as well . Ohio , Tenn, Cumberland, Inner coastal , Father was a captain for many years. man how i miss it !
Due to neck surgery, and back problems cant do it any more. good to see these video's brings back many good memories . many thanks
awsome video cap. i work for Western kentucky navigations and its good to see towboat video's on here. id love to know the number for cenac towing i been looking elsewhere where i can get a tankerman license.
that was nice, i enjoyed watching that video. i am the captain on the Lavaca, and it brought a smile to my face to see the places that we are so familiar with. keep up the good work.
Great pics, Capt. Donnie. I worked on the water as a teenager in the mid-60s into early 70s. Many of the outfits then are no longer around; Sabine Towing, Dixie Carriers, Coyle Lines, etc. I still miss it as my dad and granddaddy both worked the boats.
You're vid was great! I am currently trying to get a job with Grifco out of Houston, Tx. I can't wait, I love being out on the water and just think it would be a great job.
How do, Capt. Donnie. I see you folks all the time. I was kidding about the recruiting flick comment. It's your name and the strong Louisiana flavor of your video (and the Cenac boats). Of course I'm familiar with the location of every single photo. I got to the wheelhouse in '80. I'll probably never leave it. What else would I do? Not sit on no damned porch!
Knew there had to be at least one of Houma. What have you got here, a Cenac recruiting flick? I've been with Blessey the past two years, (On the "Catherine") It's a pretty good outfit.
No it is not a recruiting flick it is just some shots I got while at work on my hitch. I take pictures on every trip I make I have been doing it for several years now. I Hope you enjoyed it. I work for Cenac and have been there 17 years now. they are a good outfit as well. Hope to see you on the waterway. I am the captain on the Jackie Cenac give me a shout of the radio sometimes.
