I'm glad that I did; he is a very cool guy, and it seems that he is an inspiration to people in Vietnam (even to people from other countries). People like him are an inspiration just because of how they act and communicate with people. He seems like cool guy to talk to I bet haha. I'm sorry that he passed away, but someday we all die. I feel really sorry when hearing that Bill has passed away. When I came here a few years ago from VN with broken English and watched the video, Bill really gave me inspiration and encouragement to practice and learn continuously to communicate, both verbal and writing, in proper English. And up until now, when my English has gotten better, still I do not sound as American as Bill did. He was such a character, very inspiring, very humble, and diligent. He will be missed by everyone, I'm sure!

Keep going at it. It's not that difficult if you apply yourself properly. As for myself, I am on my 4th language now, namely Japanese. However, I already know English, French and Vietnamese. After Japanese though, I probably will look to Mandarin or perhaps an Arabic language.

Bill from Saigon demonstrates a typical characters of Vietnamese people: fondness for learning, working hard and being friendly. Why can't a company in Vietnam reaching out and recruiting Bill to work for them? Lack of formal education might hurt his chance but his saleman skill no doubt is one of the best in Saigon.

Yes, Chau was born and raised in Saigon so she definitely speaks Vietnamese. Bill doesn't always understand everything said to him in English, so Chau would sometimes translate. Occasionally they would speak in Vietnamese, but never would leave me out for very long before they would start to speak English again. BD
