  • NO more bigoted parades of any kind in an independant SCOTLAND!! i hope.

  • @1966thewallace

its them who want an independent Scotland, orangemen are at the top of all fields, an independent Scotland could completely destroy the Irish catholic community. I embrace it.

  • Same again this year folks. 25th June 2011!!

    God Save Our Queen;)

  • fuck all catholics and theyr papist ideals

  • How unbelievably backward. Unreal. This is in the 21st century, right? Could've fooled me! No to sectarian violence. Enough working class blood spilled! Resist Imperialism. No compromise with capitalism (or communism). Anarchist Jihad. No Surrender.

  • I'm a proud Scotsman who is indeed Protestant, but why do we need to relate our pride and religion with a British flag?

Have we become so deluded that we lack Scottish pride and forget our roots?

When I look at these Orange Parades in Scotland it makes me ashamed to be a Scottish Proddie.

Thank God we're actually proud to be Scottish over here in the States.

I guess it's true what they say - all the patriots left and the scum English loving Scots remained.

  • @222macgregor No pal there is still plenty of patriots over here still up for the fight ALBA GHU BRA.

  • What a gathering of inbred idiots and ugly women.

  • 1690 I'm a protestant I like being a proddy I don't have any problem being a proddy but it's a bit much being called a traitor will you unionists never wise up? if you think that england is your friend you are way WAY of the mark. It's you who are the TRAITOR!!!

No Surrender, Nae Brains mair like.

    ALBA GU BRATH.

  • England? what has England got to do with anything...fact is there are 4 regions within the UK...no1 has more power over the others all are equal if you think not then take it up with the Government you could sue them big time. The Union took place just the same as the regions in Germany came together and the regions of Italy...this is normal..Scotland is still Scotland being British and within the UK as an EQUAL member like the USA states is a benefit.

  • if you think its discusting why watch it knobhead

  • Hey vkathirvel. As a bandsman i am really glad you enjoyed one of the many marches we have to celebrate our history and culture.

If you are ever visiting Northern Ireland there are may events that take place that you would be most welcome to (as is everyone)

    Thanks for posting

  • Looks like a great day out .

fantastic clips thanks for uploading. great music from the young bandsmen

  • Excellent quality video, it's good to see free men and women expressing their right to free and democratic assembly without the hindrance of bigoted minded and sectarian minded Irish and Scottish traitors whos only aim is to destroy everything that is British and protestant.

    "NO SURRENDER"

  • Excellent parade - I wished our still had our orange parades in New Zealand.

  • great parade.well done brothers.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the parade and hope that it encourages you (and others) to find out more about how civil and religious freedoms were won the world over. Remember, that prior to the Glorious Revolution, non-catholicism was punishable by DEATH! Any attempt to worship outside the Catholic faith was concidered heretical!

  • Great Parade! This was a real historic route for those involved and goes to show that some Protestants in the UK still want to remember that the martyrs ultimate sacrifice was not in vain but for our Civil & Religious Liberties.

  • Great march, well done to all who took part

  • Blinder of a parade, I was featured at 3.24

  • vkathirvel - I hope you enjoyed Scotland. What you watched on the Royal Mile was a gathering of Scottish Protestants celebrating the Civil and Religous liberties won by their ancestors during the Reformation and then the Revolution of 1688-1692. Scotland was one of the nations which embraced these new ideas and suffered persecution for it. There are many newcomers to Scotland who are offended by our liberties and hate these parades. They would rather we were dragged back into the Dark Ages.

  • vkathirvel - What you witnessed was Scottish Protestants celebrating their Civil and Religous Liberties. These were sought during the Reformation and finally won at the Revolution of 1688-1692. It is a celebration which is hated by those who would seek to drag us back into the Dark Ages. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Scotland.

  • Kathir

Looks can be deceptive - especially when dealing with a foreign culture.

This is not a "Clan Band Parade" - this is an Orange Walk. Whilst it might look fun and energetic, it is in fact a parade by an avowedly sectarian and bigoted organisation playing songs considered offensive by many. Note the number of police around - there's a reason for that.

You may have heard the phrase "Scotland's Secret Shame" - that is what you've filmed and now posted on YouTube.

  • Hey mate... Didn't really make sense to me. I thought of it as some band. I am glad you pointed out the real thing.

Sometimes I used to wonder why people made a big thing out of Slumdog Millionaire. The movie was exposing India's shame and making millions.

  • Kathir

What you REALLY filmed was Scottish native Protestants celebrating the civil and religous liberties won for them by their forefathers during, first of all the Reformation then the Glorious Revolution (1688-1692). These events are part of Scotland's heritage but a large percentage of Scotlands population claim to be offended by these parades because their forefathers were on the losing side. Those offended people are partly Scottish native Catholics and largely Irish Catholic immigrants.

  • vkathirvel,

    Please don't listen to barbauch.

Let's face it,If the parade was so bad it wouldn't be allowed.

This parade celebrates civil and religious liberties won for ALL citizens of different religions at the Glorious Revolution of 1688.

Barbauch is right about one thing. There are some people who are offended. But these people are usually of another religion who are intolerant of spiritual freedom

  • Ignore the idiot mate - he is merely intolerant of people of a different faith and culture expressing themselves.

Some people in Scotland want to ban the right to free assembly as they don't agree with the reasons behind the parade (civil and religious liberty, civil rights, the celebration of the Glorious Revolution which was an important moment in British history). I think you would agree that the type of intolerance and hatred of freedom shown by barbauch sets Britain back centuries.

  • @barbauch40 Think your comment kind of sums us the bigotry we're up against in Scotland, whats the problem with people maintaining their religion?

  • @barbauch40 Hi there. Your comment is utter rubbish. You state: this is an Orange Walk. Whilst it might look fun and energetic, it is in fact a parade by an avowedly sectarian and bigoted organisation playing songs considered offensive by many. Note the number of police around - there's a reason for that.

Please explain how it is a sectarian and bigoted organisation.

  • The Orange Order are a Protestant organisation who celebrate the Battle of the Boyne and their Protestant faith. The only people who find it offensive are Roman Catholics who themselves are sectarian and bigoted in the extreme. They don’t have to apologise to any papist for being Protestant and proud of their heritage.

  • @barbauch40 your scotlands shame ya fenian bawbag go fuck yer sister cos thats aw you catholics are goo at shagging yer own. big jock knew aboot jim torbett and never picked up the phone to cops. CELTIC F.C. THE POPES PEADO 11 SCOTLANDS SHAME !!!!
