you go girl. i have been a nurse for 15 years, you have to act stupid every once in a while. yesterday, i got called to a code, i am part of the code team. anyway, the pt was stiff as a board, and the resident was hollering about lab work and k+ levels. like at that point it really mattered. too late.

I'm an advanced EMT and working on my paramedic, and I have to work in the ER so many hours to get clinical time, the ER and the ambulance are stressful places, ya gotta get some relief somehow.

Seriousally people, dont knock the healthcare profession untill youve tried it. THere is more stress in one day in most ERs than most people will expierence in 5 years, and I am not exaggerating. As far as what happens on downtime and breaks and scrub closets...what happens on break, stays on break.

Having volunteered in an ER I've seen the most professional nurses, doctors, techs act as lifesavers on the floor, but you have no idea what goes on in the break room and I imagine the scrub closets... lots of goofing off, and dirty jokes (especially with gallows humor) :) They have to let the steam off somehow.
