@CalgarySandy.I'm with you. This was the kind of music I was listening to back in the 60's. And just kept on playing it. Missed the Beatles entirely. @ creokookie1000, So glad hear the kids of today are still able to recognize, find, and produce real music. These musicians are great music historians. Unlike today's musicians who cover last weeks chart-topper, these guys cover songs that a music anthologist discovered someone singing on his back porch or in a prison cell. 100 years ago.
God, this takes me back. The geriatric rock stations seem to forget that folk and blues were a huge HUGE part of the 60's. It was not just rock. This song was done by everyone. I wish I could go out right now to a folk club where one cup of coffee was good for the night. Gone.
@CalgarySandy AH man, forget those cats Oldy goldy, moldy rock stations.....I hear this shit all the time at these hippie fests...kids in their 20's hip to this..stuff is still out there
This looks like a show I was at. Was this at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco? The film release party for Chasin' Gus' Ghost? I've been trying to track down a copy of that movie ever since but with no luck.
Amazing... Jim sounds exactly the same as he did in 1966. Too bad Fritz is dead... there will never be another like him, can't have much of a jug band without Fritz. : (
