@guywithtights Actually Panzerlied is a navy song adapted for the panzer division. was composed in June 1933 by Oberleutnant Kurt Wiehle while on his way to Königsbruck. Wiehle adapted a German sailor's song, writing lyrics more appropriate to the Panzerwaffe. I've repeated this in case you haven't read the comments.

You were right I was angry, I'd looked for quite a while to find music suitable for this clip but had no luck! However, after another search from a different angle I was able to find something more worthy, but it wont be "Das England Lied". Thanks.
the actually facts of the sinking from the bismarck are:" his own crew have suk the bismarck" No british torpedo was strong enough to destroy the underwater amor of the bismarck
The Doku Expedition Bismarck by James Cameron and filmed using MIR submersibles, reconstructs the events leading to the sinking of Bismarck. His findings were that there was not enough damage below the waterline of the ship to confirm that she was actually sunk by shells and torpedoes. In fact, upon close inspection of the wreckage, it was confirmed that none of the torpedoes or shells penetrated the second layer of the inner hull, supporting the Germans' story of having scuttled their own ship.
Bismark fans need to grow uo, The bismark was sunk by the british, They try to defend the obsolete BB stating it was unsinkable and crew scuutled it. I never here anyone say that japanese did not sink the american carriers Uss Lexington CV 2 and the Wasp Cv 7 because american destroyers torpedo them to send them to bottom They were sunk by the japs. You bismark fans need to find some honesty in you;re life and admit it was sunk by the brits. HMS Rodney destroyed all 4 turrets in 15 minutes
@jers: you have no plan of the story!!!''HMS Rodney destroyed all 4 turrets in 15 minutes'' lol. The battle began at 8:47 and 9:31 shoot the Bismarck last salve !!! The British have not sunk the Ship. several expeditions and experts has been confirmed !!!At 10:00, the water entrance of the ship blown up. The have several crew members from the Bismarck said!!!
First how many hits did the bismark make against british ships? 0, second due to her poor desighn with data, comm and hydrolic lines above the armor belts all 4 turrets were quicly out of action also due to weak turret armor. In closing grow up the brits sank your misguided pride and joy
If bismarck scored 0 hits on british ships, how did the hood sink? and poor design of the hydraulic lines is bullshit, it was one of the most advanced ships of it's time... even if all hydraulics had failed, all turrets we able to be turned by handwheels and a pully system....
Within the last battle Bismarck was hit around 400 times by artillery, thereof around 100 times by the most heavy calibres. It would had been no shame at all if she had sunk after this. BUT SHE DID NOT! Try to be less ignorant and to accept the facts. Try to behave like a human being and not like an arrogant, megalomaniac American! (Unfortunately there are too much of you in this world.)
@idunameteor Try the truth the Royal Navy hunted down and destroyed the most overrated commerce raider in history the bismarck cruiser Dorchestershire finished bismarck off with 2 torpedos, obsolete bismarck incapable of stopping 6 badly obsolete biplanes
(WW I 'Bayern' design, modernised and good watertight comparmentalisation).
Admiral Tovey was already unwilling to allow KGV to run out of fuel, (as Admiralty had suggested might be neccessary) as towing her would have made her an easy U-Boat target.
What in your tiny mind makes you think they'd risk it for 52,000 tons of scrap metal !
Bismarck was abandoned, set to sink by her crew to avoid the technology being captured by the allies... britain fire had made it non-combatworthy . and seized fire, after killing a large amount of ondeck-crew, before it would be able to sink without inside-help
How many kids have you asked? Wouldn't it better to be sunk in battle rather than be scuttled by it's crew? Whatever it was it didn't last beyond the battle.
Its a fecking fact that the Dorsetshire didnt sink her. Remeber the Rodney n KGV met up with her. Threw a few shells. THe bismarck skuttled her. Well, Bismarck was advanced compared to that lot so skuttling her and saving her from falling into enemy hands. So skuttling seemed better. Pros sounded better at the time aswel
yeh, sailing back to german would of been wise. or have the Scharnhoprt and Gensinau saill out to meet her and the Prinz Eugen stay with bismarck to. They would of taken the british no problem. I don't think I would have minded being able to speak German lol. Think of it, Tirpitz out with them aswel:O heaven sake. Roayl Navy may be big but they wouldnt stand a chance lol sorry, getting excited
The Bismarck should have turned back towards germany after the engagement with the Hood and the Prince of Wales. She would have sailed later with the Tirpitz but I am glad she didn't because I might be speaking german about now.

correction for typo: the crew had already set the scuttling charges....
chloe7829 2 years ago
the firing of torpedoes by dorsetshire was redundant
since Bismarck's crew had alreadyg the scuttling valves and set the timers for self destruction. Just so the British could claim they sank her.

Nice Video! But I don´t think that the "Panzer Lied" fits to a Navy Theme;-)

"Englandlied" would be perfect... after all it´s a Question of Taste but the Text would fit properly (please excuse my bad English)!

Possibly, but we all know who eventually won! The victor writes the history books.
