  • I went there yesterday and got blown down the steps... busted up meh knees -__-

  • Got to love the Crown Point, cant wait for the next wind storm up there :) .

  • I keep waiting for the year that we get a fair-weather windstorm in the eastern Gorge. Sometimes in late spring and early summer we can see gusts up to 50-60mph under cloudless skies. But occasionally it can sneak up slightly higher. It's no Crown Point but it can still get a bit exciting when you consider it's summertime with mild temperatures and no frontal storms around.

  • Ya that was insane a few years back, I still remember seeing all the fallen tree along the oregon coast.

  • A kite would be torn to shreds very quickly. (You could just fly a string instead.) It's not the wind, it's the 700 foot cliff that surrounds the parking lot you have to watch for.

  • Guys, you realy don't know how to walk or run in the front of such wind. Is not so hard. I thing my wind limit speed that i can walk is 160-170 mPh, don't know exactly.

  • you think hells blow. I think perfect day to fly a kite.

  • but how can it be a hurrican if it was sunny but still have high winds?

  • Now that was windy.

It looks like a cat 2 hurricane came to the Columbia River Gorge

  • That's incredible, and furthermore I am surprised how many individuals were out there. I've been up there once in winds of this magnitude and it is a very memorable experience indeed. Your video has been posted on the Fox12 Weather Blog for everyone to enjoy!
