My server is a Core 2 era Xeon quad core with 5GB RAM running ESXi 4.1. Thinking about Proxmox on this guy.

My file server (and VM datastore, iSCSI ftw!) is a Pentium 4 box running FreeNAS 8.

My workhorse of a laptop is a Core 2 Duo T5500 3GB RAM running Ubuntu 10.04. Doesn't sound like much, but with Linux all things are possible.

well I do not have much of a geekdom however, in my basement I built up 4 walls in just Sheetrock as kind of a man room (With my wifes permission) and I have a 19 inch tv, hooked up to my main computer, and another 19 inch (Had sells at wallmart ftw) hooked up to my Wii/xbox360, and ps3, and a Mini acer laptop, the computer I built myself from newegg FTW! the ps3 and xbox 360 are firmwared with burnt games, I use windata from micro center, cheap duel layer dvd's that come with 100 for 45$

Mine is kinda between over the top and simple. I have 2 PC. One with 1 screen an 19" and a 2.9ghz intel processor and a fairly decent video card ( old gaming computer). My second computer I built. This one is over the top 3 27" that's right! 2 awesome video cards AMD 3.2 ghz card with 8 gb of ram it can run crysis 2 with easy also a 7.1 logetech sound system all In all coast 3000$ cause of the fact I built them :)

Super over the top, people love to LAN party here. My main computer controls 4 22' hdmi monitors as well as they are all hooked up to a modified xbox 360 and plenty of local LAN games. Comfortable chairs, web cameras around the house, security, etc. I built everything except the xbox 360s but I did customize and fix them properly.

All I own is an Acer Aspire Revo r3610 equipped with an almighty Atom 330 + 2GB DDR2 RAM but it's the best machine I've ever purchased and can handle day-to-day tasks in a breeze. Gaming is the only drawback but everything else works beautifully well and all for only £150.

Add a LG 22LS4D and a slimmed Windows XP installation and it all works beautifully well.
