When was this, as I don't think they're legally allowed to park the aircraft facing that way any more. I think now the nose HAS to be facing the terminal building, unless I am mistaken.
not going to get into the whole derry/londonderry debate, but fyi its "City of Derry Airport. Like it or not thats exactly what its called. IATA code LDY or the ICAO code is EGAE. Name of Airport City of Derry.

Nice video, The City Airport for Londonderry is a good job, really very fast entry through to airside and fast exit to landside on the way home and I hope they get more flights and even better more airlines, I am really surprised Easyjet dont offer the odd route from here. I live in Portrush up the coast and the ILS glide slope starts over Coleraine and if delayed the holding pattern is over both towns so a scanner is very handy to listen in.
Its funny but when I was a kid I used to ride my bike down the runway and explore the old ww2 towerand in my early twentys you could drive your car across the runway through railway crossing type gates no security in those days and now I,m 42 I just get to glance at it from inside the plane.

Blimey!!! have landed at Derry a few times over the past years, have always approached over the water. Thats the first time i have seen a landing over the city.....Great video....

This is the 9 mile arc, NDB - DME Procedure for R/W 08. its a manual approach as there is no ILS for R/W 08
