  • Fantastic work, and great choice of tunes my man! . Always one of my fave Herbie tunes and albums (Mr Hands). Love the good ol' early 80's electronic fusion.

  • anybody have sheet music / tab for this bass part? soo funky :P

  • I can't believe this isn't getting enough traffic.

  • Great tune! It's a P-Bass std or same reissue?

  • Yeahhh

  • poor.....

  • keep up the good work!

  • Great playin on the best bass ever made.....no other bass has a fundamental like the P. Beautiful.

  • Den där va ju skön :)

  • Yo check our version with Trio Luftballon ;)

  • Hi, nice playing, great preci sound, is yours a 1968 precision?

  • Tnx! 1966-er.

  • Did you use flatwounds on this?

  • Roundwwounds, Ernie Ball as far as I remember.

  • Great slappin' big brother! Im always amazed by the downward thumb technique. I slap w/ the upward thumb technique. It seems a lot easier.

  • yes i like this piece of groove :: good sound

  • gosh i wish i could slap better

  • Your sound is almost as on the record. Nice!

  • Sorry, which effects have you used for playing this song? Thanks!

  • No specific effects, however, playing through my Korg PX4D with a tad chorus in the sound setting.

  • This was mad solid. Props!

  • Great playing. Are you using double thumbing on this riff?

  • Thanks! No, it's knuckle slapping or whatever you should call it. I have a tutorial showing it.

  • Hey great playing what kind of strings are you using?

  • Thanks! I use Ernie Ball Super Slinky custom gauge roundwound, 45-100

  • THE SONG IS FROM THE MR. HANDS ALBUM.

  • Sorry I figured that out after I posted. I've owned a 66-P-bass 1872xx for 37-years but it doesn't look that anymore. Though the one I sold did, it was flawless. The 70's were hard on some basses. Good playing and videos

    Ron

  • No problem:-) This one lived through the 70's fairly unharmed.

  • Hi Did that bass originally come from Canada? I sold one to a fellow in England back in 1999/2000, was it you?

    Thanks

    Ron

  • No, not me. I'm from Sweden. However, a great bass.

  • nice play! just heard this song at the local electronic store!

  • Herbie killed me with this one! Outstanding!

  • Really, I dont know much about bass playing. I learned by myself. I can visualy transcribe what you play but I m not groovy. And your videos so far already helped me :)

  • Love Herbie :D

  • great!

    Will you post more lessons?

  • Tnx! Yes, I just have find something you may not already know:-D

  • hi there,

its a very nice and, maybe for me, a possible riff to play.

do you know the awakening from the reddings?

that would be great, if you could explain it in a bass video.

alltime the best from germany, and i hope to see more of those funky grooves!?!

    bye

  • Tnx! I will check out Awakenings. Haven't heard it before so, no promises:-D

  • Excellent bass line! Great tone and very good technique!
