sweet man. im gonna start on my next build and im pairing that bad boy with an ati HD 8530. then when i get some more money im going to crossfire another one.
@marshallowns yes you can. its called the 980a chipset from nvidia. support for AM3/DDR3 all the latest stuff (you can find some from vendors like asus or gigabyte that may also come with Sata 3 and USB 3.0 as well).
@marshallowns hey hey hey i mean dont do all that just from my advice. its a better deal for you to do so, but if it gets tough to buy one (budget) then just stick with your original idea.
Afraid I'd actually have to agree with you on this one. The 460 is a great card if you are savvy enough to cool it correctly and OC the hell out of it. Keep forgetting how expensive 5830's are proportionally. My 4890's cost me $300 together.
@Fencefeet which surprised me too because even MaximumPC reviewed an XFX Radeon 5830 (260$) and gave it a 6/10 because its the ONLY 5000 series card out of place for the money.
Totally agree. Don't know what the hell they were thinkin. It's almost like they realized that the 4890 was too good of a deal, so they discontinued it, rebranded it as a 58xx series card with dx. 11 and eyefinity, and charged $60 more.
Sounds good, should be one kick ass machine. Those cards have roughly the same performance as a 4890--and my two 4890's in CF still rock this world. Together they are faster than a GTX 480, so you should be good to go.
ima get the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition

@mda40000 (forgot to say in the last comment) not to mention the GTX 460 even competes with the 5850 in some areas.
