I think what's so scary about stop motion is because it looks like motionless models have suddenly come to life. Of course, it seemed like that even more in the old days when the models were more deformed because of less experience, like fingerprints all over and weird shapes.

I watch Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run, and other movies like that nowadays and I don't feel scared at all.

There used to be a television show or something in Australia which had scary animations like these. Can't remember the name. But I don't think you made it, just saying. If you did, then sorry. But I'm pretty sure I saw this on that show.
