Using stats while trying to compare players from 2 different eras is completely FOOLISH and UNJUST. Its guaranteed KB would have a higher career fg% if he had played in the 80s. Kiki Vandeweighe averaged 26ppg and 55%fg from 1982-87. Does that mean he was better than KB, LBJ, Melo, Wade, Durant, or even Danny Granger? Absolutely not.
Watching actual FULL LENGTH game tape is the ONLY true way to compare the skills and abilities between players. Fantasy stats can only tell you so much.
To take it a little further... Oscar Robertson had a 5 year stretch where he was averaging 30pts, 11ast, 10reb and 50%fg. Thats 5 freakin years of triple doubles while shooting 50%fg. Does that mean he was a better baller than MJ, KB, and LBJ? Of course not. One of the greatest players, but not the best, most skilled, or toughest.
With all that said, my point is... You absolutely cannot compare players by stats from different eras. Each era has its own respective differences.

The move definitely works. I saw Gary Payton use it and then i tried it. You have to convince the defender that you will shoot a turnaround first. Just like all shot fakes its easiest to make the defender bite if you actually go up with the shot the first couple times.

IMO, Jordan is GOAT in every facet of hte game, clutch, statistics, impact on society, competitiveness, etc. Kobe is a VERY close second and probably the closest thing to MJ we will ever see. It's eerie how similar he is to Jordan, but he will never be better than MJ and his window is rapidly closing due to his long miles in the league. Lebron is not better than Jordan OR Kobe at this stage bc he is a different player. Lebron is like Magic or Pippen or Grant Hill - all around team player.

Yeah that was amazing. The Nets finished first in defensive efficiency that year. Jordan had just had his knee drained. He scored 51 and then followed it up with this game against the toughest defense in the NBA. Even in the twilight of his career he could destroy teams when his knee was under control.
I've never seen a talent like him.

Using stats while trying to compare players from 2 different eras is completely FOOLISH and UNJUST. Its guaranteed KB would have a higher career fg% if he had played in the 80s. Kiki Vandeweighe averaged 26ppg and 55%fg from 1982-87. Does that mean he was better than KB, LBJ, Melo, Wade, Durant, or even Danny Granger? Absolutely not.
Watching actual FULL LENGTH game tape is the ONLY true way to compare the skills and abilities between players. Fantasy stats can only tell you so much.

To take it a little further... Oscar Robertson had a 5 year stretch where he was averaging 30pts, 11ast, 10reb and 50%fg. Thats 5 freakin years of triple doubles while shooting 50%fg. Does that mean he was a better baller than MJ, KB, and LBJ? Of course not. One of the greatest players, but not the best, most skilled, or toughest.
With all that said, my point is... You absolutely cannot compare players by stats from different eras. Each era has its own respective differences.

Compare the range on both players.
MJ's range consists of mid range and layups. Therefore giving MJ a better percentage.
One must also consider the defense of the two different eras. Zone defense is allowed in the current era which it was not allowed in Jordan's era.
There are still a ton of factors by which to judge these two great players, but it's not quite fair to simply compare percentages.

By the time Jordan was in his 14th nba season (his first with the Wizards) he had won his 10 scoring titles (to Kobe's 1), 6 NBA titles (to go along with 6 Finals MVP's to Kobe's 4 titles and 1 Finals MVP), and he won the NBA MVP five times (to Kobe winning 1). The move definitely works. I saw Gary Payton use it and then i tried it. You have to convince the defender that you will shoot a turnaround first. Just like all shot fakes its easiest to make the defender bite if you actually go up with the shot the first couple times.

I can't understand how people compare Kobe to him. When Kobe gets his high scoring game he gets hardly anything besides points. Like in his last 61 point game in Madison, he had 0 rebounds and like 3 assists. MJ wouldn't just get points, but he would also get rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals. IMO, Jordan is GOAT in every facet of hte game, clutch, statistics, impact on society, competitiveness, etc. Kobe is a VERY close second and probably the closest thing to MJ we will ever see. It's eerie how similar he is to Jordan, but he will never be better than MJ and his window is rapidly closing due to his long miles in the league. Lebron is not better than Jordan OR Kobe at this stage bc he is a different player. Lebron is like Magic or Pippen or Grant Hill - all around team player.
