i know this is awful but i used my friends duac kit and that was simply amazing in about two weeks my skin was perfectly clear and my scars were even faded. at the end of the month i had gorgeous skin i actually went a 2 years using her prescription and i went those two years without using makeup! but she got pregnant and now my face got all blotchy.what i use now is clinique acne system and it is working really good cause proactive sucked with me now all i need is to clear my scars
acutane is bad derm. doctor wanted me to go on it but he told me all the side effects i would suffer..not at the moment..but in 10 years and later on. it wasn't for me. thank god acne decreases around age 20.....almost there. sheesh..it's a bitch having acne. thanks to it i was left with A LOT of scarring. and i tried everything..proactive..derm. antibiotics..creams..nothing even helped. so please don't judge us that we are shallow into not taking care of ourselves.
Actually I didn't get more than 1-2 pimples a year UNTIL I went to college... now its monthly, ICK
p.s. I got lucky and did find a way to gently pop pimples (with a towel or tissue) when they're too sore for acne medicine to get through and a skin regimen of poly or neosporin w/ a scar preventative afterwards to get skin to remain scar-free and clear :D
I had a very bad situation with a dermatologist, she turned out to be very mean and the prescription that she gave me expired 3 days after i bought it and I couldn't sleep because of the pain x.x never returned to any since then... I'll just have to deal with it =(
I use Acne Tab from speedyherbcare. It is the Acne medication without having any harmful side effects. It is a slow medication process but now I am getting good results.
I had bad acne during my high school years. I was almost certain that it would be gone by the time I was in college...yeah senior year and I still get it...so junior year I said enough is enough and tried the proactive stuff. And it freaking worked! Now as long as I keep putting it on acne stays away...only prob is when I don't put it on...it comes right back...
Bullshit! I still get cystic acne breakouts every month, about "that" time. So annoying. The only time that my skin stayed clear was while I was on the birth control pill. Frankly, I don't want to take the pill any longer. I take fantastic care of my skin and I am 31. Not one month goes by that I don't get 5-7 painful blemishes. ugh!
@iamcasihart yes i agree with u same exact prob w me i also get simple on the off time too. wat do u do for ur cystic acne?? nothing i tried so far really helps n mine hurt so much i get them on jaw line n chin
@rajkumaijaan2 I still suffer with it. Mine are around the jawline & on my cheeks, near my hair line. I use Clearasil Foaming Face wash, (it has triclosan in it, an antibacterial). It helps some. I always moisturize my face with something gentle. Aveeno has great moisturizers. I have been searching for an acne cream containing sulfur. Sulfur works so much better than BP or SA. It is difficult to find though. "Adult Care Clearasil" is a good one. If you can find it, get it! Best of luck. =)
@iamcasihart I know this is late, but try ordering Proactiv's sulfur mask. You can get the mask without the kit on Amazon or eBay. I use it every day and follow with a good oil-free moisturizer and it has helped tremendously with my skin! I'm 21, and still get spots, but it's getting better.
She didn't even mention drinking more water. Seriously, drinking a lot of water helped with my acne. I would drink one large glass before anything I ate/any non-water drink I drank, and that made my skin look fantastic.
About half the people who use Proactiv it actually get results from it, I tried it twice and both times I had a terrible reaction to it which made me breakout terribly and everyone I've talked to who have used it had similar problem with it, so I personally don't recommend Proactive. The best thing I've found is to use very few products at all and simply use a soup with no pore clogging ingredients like Cetaphil antibacterial soup bars :)
just forget about the acne! its just your outside look and it doesnt matter. what matter is your health or your life than the looks. i suggest drink alot of water like 8-12 glasses and stop eating oily foods and wash your face before you go to sleep.
haha yeah maybe for about half the people who use it actually get results from it, I tried it twice and both times I had a terrible reaction to it which made me breakout terribly and everyone I've talked to had similar problem with it, so I personally don't recommend Proactive, the best thing I've found it to use very few products at all and simply use a soup with no pore clogging ingredients like Cetaphil :)
But some people have severe acne, and it really takes a toll on their confidence. Although you may not have acne issues, there are others who are forced to care about them.
after 5 years of suffering from severe acne, i was finally put on accutane. i'm still taking it. i have one more month to go (been on it for 6 months) but there isn't a single pimple on my face. now i just have a few small scars. but there's laser surgery for that.
if you're suffering from mild to severe acne, save yourself the money and trouble. go on accutane. talk to your dermatologist about it. you can't go to a normal doctor since they aren't licensed to prescribe you the drug.

they have tested that on National Geographic.... Drinking water makes no difference

You're totally right. Drinking more water helps a lot. Avoiding spicy, sour, greasy and acidic foods will help too.

Who cares about a little acne? You don't have to be perfect or even try to be. Stop torturing yourselves over meaningless crap.

acne is an internal response to the body getting rid if toxins. Taking another drug just ads to the toxins.
All of my friends cured there acne by cleaning out the inside of the body.
One of the drugs I took a few years back from the doctor almost stopped my kidneys from working.
They don't tell you when you take there drugs when you get older all the complications you receive.

I resent that. I have moderate acne. Its not meaningless crap. Acne is no fun to have. Im 25 and I still suffer from the skin disorder
