  • is this on 8BC by any chance?

  • Nope!

  • So funky haha, hope you're still doing this.

  • This is sick. Any chance I could get the original track? :)

I've been dying to get my own MIDInes for a long time now... a man can dream!

  • i want this track aswell if you get it hook me up=]

  • WOW!!! quite a hook!

  • i have a guitar set up with a roland gr-20 that has a midi out port, would it work with the midines?

  • As far as I know it should, I've always wanted to try it!

  • @krikbre i think thats wut anamanaguchi uses, maybbee.. idek XD

  • nice tune bro. This is one of the all around grooviest chiptunes i've ever heard. you've served us all well. thank you

  • Find it! I want to put it on my mp3 player and listen to it. Do you make other songs? Is your band name DJ ultra willie? If not, I think it should be haha.

  • This is such an amazing riff. Awesome bass line and unbelievably catchy melody. This is like the 9th time I've watched your vid in 2 days.

    Thanks a lot man!

  • Thank you! Thanks for watching. I made a longer version of the tune, I'll try to find it, but it was a pretty long time ago.

  • Shit's fun, huh? Check out some crap I've been doing with this thing in my videos when you get a chance! :-)

  • thanks for the reply mate and thanks very much.

    sick tune btw!

  • im looking for a new way to expand my 8bit creativity and midines seems to be the next step to take.

I'd just like to ask, is it neccassary to hook the nes up to a monitor/tv for midines to play ?

And as for the sequencing done in fl studio, everytime you wish to perform a song, do u have to open the fl file with all the sequenced parts or does it somehow save all your data on the cartridge?

sorry if i sound a little silly

    thanks

  • You don't have to have the NES hooked up to a TV, but it does help and it looks badass.

Nothing is saved on the actual cartridge, so you have to have an external sequencer/controller to play.

Good luck with the 8bit! I definitely recommend the MidiNES.

  • midi nes is awesome.

  • Is there a better way to record the output ?

You know, make it into an mp3 ?

  • Audacity is a free tool with the ability to record your mic input on your PC and save it as an mp3

  • i wanna buy one of these, but i need to know...

can i plug my usb/midi keyboard into the midines, plug the nes into an amp or tv, and be able to play? or do i need a sequencer, such as fruity loops?

  • Yeah you should be able to plug it into any MIDI keyboard. You won't be able to sequence anything, and you'd only be able to play one channel at a time (unless you can split your keyboard), but it should work nonetheless.

  • good, good job

  • Timbaland Stay away from this beat you hear me!!!!

  • rofl

  • so does this HAVE TO go trhough a PC/laptop? or can it go straight through a mixer or amp?

  • Yeah, you just take the output of the NES (RCA) to whatever. You do need a MIDI keyboard or sequencer to actually play it though, and since most people already have a keyboard, it's a cheap and easy solution.

  • erp - I mean PC hehe

  • I have one of these heading my way in the mail now. This video practically sold me on it when I was looking into them. Really, really good song.

  • That and as far as handmade chiptune instruments go, they're REALLY well priced.

  • kickin song

  • Midines kicks so much ass.. saving up to buy one immediately :)

  • edit: this beat is really catchy, nad makes me want the midines even more haha!

  • what exactly is midines? a midi sequencer using an actual nintendo chipset?

You should hit me up, I'm into chip tunes and dnb, I'm trying to get some good tracks with a bit of both in it

  • Actually it's basically an NES cart with a MIDI cable running out of it. You can hook it up to any sequencer or controller and play your NES using the 5 channels: (2) Square wave, triangle, noise, and DMC Samples included on the cart. Pretty ace!

  • what sequencer did you use to make this? i am thinking of getting midines, but i would like to know what sequencer i show use to sequence it

  • FLStudio. The sounds that come prepacked are lousy, but its sequencing is amazing.

  • Nice beats.
