Demon's Soul's Walkthrough - Character Creation & Introduction

What's a good class to start as? I like to use magic, but I'm gonna use swords more. I still like to have decent magic to fall back on. Also, if you choose a knight or a magician, are you allowed to dodge/roll? Or is it just limited to blocking?

Please, help me out here. I really want to know if I should get this game, but I'd like to know more about it first.

@herofromthedark Knight, in my opinion. Any class can use magic as long as they're consistent in training that stat and all classes can dodge/roll no matter what you're doing.

What's the difference between Temple Knight and Knight? Because I chose Temple knight and some of my friends said Temple knight suks and shouldh've chosen a knight instead.

I would like to point out that colourless deep fog exists all around us, but we have another name for it.. Air. Quality of dialogue aside I'm buying a PS3 around Christmas time and am also planning to buy this game as well, not just because I'm told it's so difficult it's like having your testicles removed with a rusty claw hammer and used to taunt you, but because it looks like a great game that has went unsung.

knight is very good for beginners. it has good defense and ok dmg. also your shield is good for starting out. also u can learn both miracles and spells.

I've recently finished my 1st playthrough as the Knight. I've just now restarted and I've chosen the Temple Knight this time around, gonna go for a 'Paladin' type character, mainly melee, but some magic in there too. :)

yeah, a better choice than a regular knight. You start off with armour, a halberd, which has a very long range, and you can use miracles as soon as you start.

@weerderthanal If you're skilled with a bow or with attack magic you have nothing to worry about. I beat the Tower Knight in a few minutes. Keeping to the stairs and balconies keeps him from hitting you, while you have open shots at his enormous chest.

Can your build use magic?

Try Soul arrow, it hits him incredibly hard.

Just head up to a perch, and duck behind a statue when he fires at you.

After that, the battle just becomes about timing; hitting him before he blasts you.

Yeah, you can mix the facial features of a male and female. Also, the female models in this game aren't outrageous, meaning that, in most armor, they can pass as unisex. And there's some great looking armor sets for both genders.

Some people will purposely make a female gender character and give it a male face, simply because certain armors and items can only be worn by a specific gender.

You see on the second screen where it says details at the bottom? Although the creator of this video chose to miss it out entirely you get the opportunity to change all of your characters facial features, cheeks, eyebrows, nose etc etc. So there is more depth to the creation process than this video may lead you to believe.

very hardcore. king feild iv was a fps rpg like this but like elder scrolls oblivion,morrowind and such.except to go around was slow attacking was very slow swipes. you had to play for hours and get your stats up enough befor you would swing walk and jump at a normal pace. it would go. press slash. arm moves.....1.....2......3 almost hut....4 you hit or miss....then try agian. 1.....2....3....4 hit.

now i am very sure back in the day. modern times its for the very few. i played morrowind to for ages till oblivion came and well now its impossible to go back to morrowind. absolutly wonderfull back in the day. the sad thing is. with morrowing and kingsfield. they have long loading times they have bad graphics to today but the gameplay is still far more freeform than the games nowadays. i find worst the graphics bigger the idea the better the gameplay. it asking for too much to have it all.
