My son (5) and I often play your J.S. Bach Sinfonia to Cantata No. 29 on the computer in our kitchen while we're cooking dinner. We love it. Thank you! Could we have some more Bach?
Rob, I love your playing. You make it look effortless. Got a question about the piece of music on your rack. I've reduced, cut, and pasted music as well. Are you reading down columns of single pages or columns of pairs of facing pages? Thanks.
I have just started building my Hauptwerk, it is to be a 4 manual instrument. This will be a reintroduction to the keyboard for me after a 40 year absence. Your performances are truly amazing, I've not seen such calm confidence in quite a while, especially in your pedaling. Tell Jasmine that she does a super job at videography. Congratulations and cheers.
Maestro, I was a passionate lover of Organ Music....I follow your performances and this beautiful instrument that is Hauptwerk.. (I play piano and sometimes organ )....All my congratulation for this beautiful performance
MY, I enjoyed your performance of one of Virgil Fox's most memorable concert pieces and his arrangement of such. The virtual instrument continues to amaze and inspire with its present and future possibilities. I know once you have it memorized the concentration given to watching the page will issue forth the joy and musical abandon that is infectious in this piece. Thank you for your videos. I look for more.
everything was brilliant finger work and foot work, but i think the stop choices for the pedals wernt that good :( something louder and more distinctive should be choosen so the main theme feels like its moving forward loud and joyful i say! :D
Мне приходилось слышать оркестровое исполнение, яркое, энергичное, в сравнении с которым эта версия с подчеркнутым ритмом и пропавшими басами выглядит бледновато. Но финал великолепен. На финале оркестр отдыхает.
As always... an absolutely great performance. They say you can't get perfection, but I think you just proved them wrong!!!! Well done, I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of you in the future as one of America's leading organists.
Love it! Question... Where did you get your organ console from? I am interested in getting one for myself and the whole Hauptwerk program. Please advise. Thanks!
You are truly incredible, it is always a pleasure to watch other organists who play at a high caliber. Thank-you so much for sharing all of your talents, you truly are a blessing!
What! No ring. Has Jasmine become the past? Geez, so sorry to see the progression from 2009 to 2010. Please tell me that your hand is swelling or that your ring is being resized. You are a very talented youngster (Im 41 so I can say that!!!) and I appreciate your contributions to my sense of "personal culture" while Im slowly getting light on my feet (like you are at the consel!) with some special Merlot from 2008. Thanks so much!
hey, does that digital organ makes dynamics?? or is it like normal church organs that you can only add more keys in the chord gradually and pull those buttons?
also, does it work as a synth? i mean, can you create timbres, make bends, transpose scale and octaves? and can you turn dynamic keys on and off (that is, if it has dynamic keys)???
@ericoschmitt Hi, the system you are listening to is a software based program called "Hauptwerk" by Martin Dyde of England and owned by a company in the US. There is a free version of the software .Yes, many of the sample sets have everything you can imagine! Look it up online!
Superb stuff! Last time I heard this piece was Carlo Curley playing on the magnificent 3-manual Harrison & Harrison Caird Hall, Dundee, organ. This interpretation is every bit as good. Nice restrained tempo and beautiful articulation. This puts a whole new slant on electronic organs. How very far removed from the Compton electronic of yesteryear! Even the Allen organ cannot beat this sound. Wonderful!
Beautiful perfomance. This is the first time I have ever heard this piece and you certainly did a good job of "selling" it to me. Not a bad video production either! Thanks fo much for posting it.
Clean, crisp and inspiring. I am looking towards getting an Hauptwerk but I was wondering if it ever gave any peculiar problems. Is it durable? Again, great performance!
To any organ perfectionist who thinks that Hauptwerk is just some electronic "so so" organ, this has to prove them wrong. The only thing that lets it down is when loudspeakers are used because of the different types of harmonic and intermodulation distortion they introduce.
Wonderful...I so much enjoy you sharing the gift have been given, and which you (and your wife....she's gives sight to the sound!) allow me to appreciate.
I would be delighted to hear you in concert, should you find your way to Michigan or Ohio. I look forward to your next tube!!!
What a joy to hear you play every time again. This piece is breathtaking! I started learning this piece about two weeks ago, but not getting very far with it as yet. Hopefully one day I'll be able to play it like you.
It surprises me by the way, how many different arrangements there are of this piece. My sheetmusic is in some parts different to yours. Is it crucial that it should be Bach's original? Or have you re-arranged the music in your own special way as well for this performance?
@stefanussen Again, just delightful playing. I've been trying to find the sheet music for the Hebble arrangement for several months now. Any ideas where to find it these days? Thanks!
I always enjoy your videos! Your playing is superb! Is there any chance you might become a concert organist? I would love to hear your artistry on my church's 191 rank Casavant organ! It would be splendid!Hope to see and hear more from you soon.
This is metagicmos. I had messaged you, who then messaged me several months ago about Dr. Elliott's arrangement release on "How Firm A Foundation." So... Not bad for a Haupterwork organ! I play the version by A. Guilmant. Where did you find this score? Nice job.
As always...AMAZING! It seemed just a tad slow right at the beginning, but it really was an A+ performance overall. This is one of my all-time favorites. Are you still studying with Dr. Udy?
@caysonstaples Thanks Cayson! I am still still studying with Dr. Udy. The tempo was deliberate given that Salisbury cathedral has 5+ seconds of reverb.
@stefanussen You should come play the organ at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. 15-30 second reverberation, depending on the # of people in the cathedral.
Again, well done. I like the CONSERVATIVE way in which you perform....not flashy but with great skill. I've been thinking about ordering the Salisbury set, but wasn't sure about the overall acoustics, and attack sampling etc. If the Salisbury is anything like the Metz,,,then I'm ready to purchase it. I think this video has answered my question.
I've been waiting for you to do this piece FOREVERRRRR! Thank you so much! You play it as Bach would have....not too fast or slow. Paul Jacobs tends to make it into more of a spectacle. Glad you don't.
I've always enjoyed the sound of organ. I got in the world of Hauptwerk about a month ago and I really like performances and Hauptwerk setups like yours. Just subscribed so I can get informed when you upload something new. Keep up the good work!
Wow...all of your videos are wonderful, but you've outdone yourself with this one. Very, VERY good...I believe someone else already said, hearing you play is like receiving a gift. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
I've got plans to make a rather ambitious recording of this myself:
I plan to learn all the orchestral parts, and play them into my Finale software. Then I'm going to make an MP3 file of the orchestral accompaniment, and play the organ solo out on my piano. Thing is, I still need to learn the rest of the organ solo before I can start any real work on the thing!
Outstanding as usual I have subscribed to your channel on YouTube. What incredible sounds from a virtual organ. Just curious, when we are hearing the recordings are we hearing them through your speakers or is are you directly connected to the camera. If we are hearing the speakers....WOW would love to be in the room when you play. Your house must shake. LOL Thank you again for your beautiful music
@motnurkep Hi Tom, the sound is recorded directly to disk. The organ does sound good through the speakers, but for something like this, there's no need to record the sound coming out of the speakers since it can be recorded directly.
Rob, your fans have waited for almost six months for another performance video, and this latest installment was worth the wait! Thank you so much for another elegant performance. JSB would be very proud!
