Watching them preform or listening to Cedric's voice...you can just see and hear how they absolutely feel and love what they are doing. And art, all art, is just that..a love and expression of the world beyond the one we usually know. A glimpse of the world within the world. I always feel like when you create art for other people...it becomes work. and art cannot be work like that - it ruins it. So the fact of them doing what they want...well, that IS the art. I hope that makes sense. :P

@mosstet Why does people doing what they want to do have to equal massive egos? It's annoying that people so often slap this word "ego" onto the Mars Volta. Omar just said straight up that he would be "paralyzed with fear" if he thought about the fans while making music. If he had such a massive ego I'm pretty sure he'd be thinking more along the lines of, "this is going to blow everyone's mind and create a whole new genre of music."

They've been here three times in the last three years. David Farrier is probably one of the best music journo's in the country at the moment, he always does great interviews. The gig was epic too, but that goes without saying
