  • Those silly Dilly Sisters look so BORED

  • The Dilly Sisters appear in E17 and E26 on the Season 1 DVD. Look for them.

  • how did their life unfold

  • Back in the late 1960's, US TV networks did outsource a lot of work to Mexican and Canadian people. Remember that to use two US children to do the singing, HB would of had to had two chaperones on set at all times , on set tutoring in lieu of school and pay them according to US pay rates. And that costs money. As the Dilly sisters came from Mexico, HB assumed that were in the US on a working holiday and after their return to Mexico, they would resume their education.

  • Aren't they the twins in The Shining?

  • for some reason these 2 creeped the shit outta me when I was little - I think I had nightmares about them too

  • Holy F.

  • LOL

  • OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dilly SISTERS WERE GREATER than The STONES.....the Dillys sold 145 millions records in the first year !!!

  • no wonder I am now mentally disturbed after watching this in the 70s....he he he ...looking at it now- it was quite -off-the -wall.....maybe its also why my sence of humour is a little cooky too !! lol

  • tv back then was pretty darn cool. shows like this, bugs bunny, lost in space, gilligans island, the monkeys, hogans heroes. man i could go on and on. such fond memories.

Thise Silly Dilly Sisters!i soooo loved when i got to view Banana Splits growing up- the music, the action, the voices... it made me feel like i was in a different world when i watched the show... thanks for posting this little treat.

(i think you can see my love for the Banana Splits has stuck with me... i just realized that the “Candy Kung-Fu” in my show is as silly as the Banana Splits.

Go to min 3:07 of “The Spit Show with Indus & Raquel, Episode 2” to see what I mean!

  • Mom or dad didn't come to America yet , but they were definitely young enough TI enjoy this show . Although , they didn't watch it , I asked my neighbor who had children that watched this show and she would watch it with them so she definitely remembers this :3

Tarara boom si ay did you gets yours today? I got mine yesterday tarara boom si ay, tarara boom si ay. He laid me on the couch and all I said was ouch, my mummy was surprised to see my tummy rise...

  • @Sulis2007 Lmao

  • Is The Pee Wee Herman a take off of this show??? Ummmmm. Funny. Looks like the Dilly sisters are playing their guitars. WOW not bad. I should be past the One string at a time after watching Antoine DuFour telling me in his melodious voice "HOW to play the acoustic guitar. These gals put me to shame. My My My. Made me laugh and at this moment I really needed a litle uplift. Thanks to you Sun-Shine "Angel" for sending another gem. ;-))))) Even though you are really busy. Ahhhhhhh. {Thanks Poster}

  • Finally, lyrics that make sense. Thanks MaceMn!

  • Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-re! (sung 8 times) I'm a blushing bud of innocence Papa says at big expense Old maids say I have no sense Boys declare, I'm just immense Before my song I do conclude I want it strictly understood Though fond of fun, I'm never rude Though not too bad I'm not too good Chorus

  • A sweet tuxedo girl you see A queen of swell society Fond of fun as fond can be When it's on the strict Q.T. I'm not too young, I'm not too old Not too timid, not too bold Just the kind you'd like to hold Just the kind for sport I'm told Chorus.

  • I know they used to make ugly kids in the old days but they is about the ugliest kids I ever saw. They has as bad a case of the uglies as you can get. They has aggravated uglies.

  • Using Google, I found out that the Dilly Sisters were actually Donna and Dolores Dillwertz. On the DVD, they appear in episodes 17 and 26.

  • hitler would have used them as weapons on ww3

  • Classic! LMAO

  • Think this may have influenced Pee Wee's Playhouse?

  • who the bleep are these brats?

  • Wow.

Back in the day, the cuteness associated with the Banana Splits were the Dilly Sisters.

    Now, it's Hit Girl.

Ah well, as the saying goes,

"You've come a long way, baby."

Or should I say "You've come a long way, baby-doll".

  • acid

  • This was a running joke on the Banana Splits. There'd be a knock on the door and sometimes it would be the Dilly Sisters. I can also remember one knock and it was a cartoon witch and there was another one which was a great big cartoon cat holding a mallet who said something like "Hey, looking for a mouse basher?". And of course there was Fleego's bam-o-gram which you saw in the opening credits.

  • Here's what they SHOULD HAVE sung:

"It's Howdy Doody time, it's Howdy Doody time..."

  • Um yeah but Ta ra ra boom de ay was what Howdy Doody Time was based on anyhow.

  • class!!!!!

  • One Dilly sister took on the alias "Amy Winehouse" and the other "Lady Gaga", and neither Dilly sister's voice has changed since 1969.

  • @HarvestmanMan Hahahahaha!........ One of the best comments I read on YT ever. Respect dude :):):)

  • I believe The Dilly Sisters were bullied at school, went nuts, and ended up in a "home"

  • there's more to it though. oh well. if i really want to see it, i can dig up the tape we have somewhere in the house that consists of nothing but six straight hours of the banana splits on boomerang!

  • What became of the Dilly Sisters?

  • they must have become church singers

  • What was the name of the Buffalo head on the wall?

  • that little girl in the green dress and with a big ass forehead use to freak me out bad with her dull, lifeless expressions. i'd rather ride a big wheel down the hallways of the stanley hotel andd see those twins while nicholson chases me with an axe than see this shit. i'm warped for another 10 years

  • these old Hanna Barbara shows leave a strange taste in my mouth.

  • I wonder how many drugs the writers of The Banana Splits used to take?

  • Lots.

  • Yea I think the 60s were good to the writers of this show.

  • OMG, that skit used to annoy me! I felt bad for the lion who couldn't get away from them.

  • I can't believe this is here. I used to have nightmares about these chicks. Awesome video!!

  • Las Hermanas Nuñez

  • So didn't those girls grow up to start the band L7? That would be cool. Huhhhuhhhuhhhuh.

  • Very funny stuff and I remember it well. When I was a very young kid I thought that this show was great. Now that I see it on Boomerang...I would like to know what drugs the writers were on. On a lighter note, the Dilly sisters were cute.

  • A sweet tuxedo girl you see,
A queen of swell society,
Fond fun is fun to me,

    When it's on strict Q.T.
I'm not too young, I'm not too old,

I'm not too timid, not too bold,
Just the kind you'd like to hold,
[??? ??? ?? ???] I'm told.

    Truth is stranger than fiction

  • "Truth is stranger than fiction".com

  • Actually, I heard this from Jennifer herself on a talk show: the Dilly sisters are actually the TILLY sisters - Meg and Jennifer. If you look closely at their faces, you can see it; The one in pink is Jennnifer and the one in green is Meg. I think there's a third sister; the one in green may be her instead of Meg.

  • nhbxxx: "I heard this from Jennifer herself on a talk show: the Dilly sisters are actually the TILLY sisters"

I like Jennifer and Meg Tilly, but I really don't believe that either one of them is this talented. LOL!

Supposedly the Dilly Sisters were a musical act from Mexico. Is it possible that either you or Jennifer Tilly is full of shit?

  • No, The Dilly Sisters are actually Las Hermanas Nuñez, they have recorded several records over the years. They play traditional Mexican Ballads and if you google or ebay them you can find their records. You tube them and you can listen to some of their songs as many of them are posted here! Happy Listening!

  • Thanks, robertoluque. I saw Jennifer on David Letterman; he actually showed this clip (or another of the many) and I guess they were joking when Jennifer said it was her. Should have guessed Letterman was pulling a fast one.

  • Could you have her give us the correct lyrics?

  • Looked it uo on Wikepedia, here is part of the entry: A sweet tuxedo girl you see Queen of swell society Fond of fun as fond can be When it's on the strict Q.T. I'm not too young, I'm not too old Not too timid, not too bold Just the kind you'd like to hold Just the kind for sport I'm told

I think it would be cool if the girls did an exclusive for You Tube now that they are all grown up. :o)
