@jaa1282 Their was no impala wagons made in 59. Only brookwood (2 or 4 door Biscayne trim), parkwood 6 passenger (4 door bel air trim), kingswood 9 passenger (4 door bel air trim) and nomad (4 door impala trim)
like that 59 wagon it's different , and it's still a bow - tie , your money your car , fix her up keep her on the road . who care's 2dr. 4dr. it's neat . 348 tri power would be neat ,or a 409
duh its 59 but y did u get a waggon get a musical car like a chevelle camaro like 69 or 71 70 ss super sport were u from cause your car ant that rare in ga
@nick968052 Its not the same. When u go to a car show all u see is chevelles, camaros, mustangs, mopars, and novas. U don't see wagons at all, and if u do there 4 door wagons. My is a two door wagon from 59 with those wings in the back, it gets allot of attention. Wagons are starting to get the attention they need now. I wanted to be different.
@chevycamaro1976 Well said those Cars are too over exposed in Car shows and Now its about all you see at Car shows . My Classic Car I have is the only one you see at the Car shows its very Rare been in the family since 69 I get alot of attention I'm the same as you be different nice wagon keep up on it and check out my vid on my Car and I have an updated one I will be posting after I edit soon.
@chevycamaro1976 Very true. I own a 59 El Camino, and i just went to a huge swap meet. Everything there was 55 and 57 chevy. Mustangs and Camaros, Chevelles and Chargers. Only saw a couple of fenders for a 59. I love that feeling of having something that you just don't see everywhere. Those other cars are just way to over-rated. I had a few people even tell me they had never seen a 59 El Camino. I have never seen a 2 door wagon till your video. I have a 4 door Brookwood for parts. Nice ride man.
@jerywilliams Thanks and that what I wanted, to be seen with something different. Wagons have been treat crappy for years but lately they have been coming back. In the 90s the nomad started to get the attention and soon or later all wagons will. Yur el camino is a rare one too in this time of life. I love muscle cars from mid 60s to mid 70s but u see them everywhere in car shows hardly no wagons. i've seen 59 nomads sell for 40k, so they can be valuable to the right buyer.
@65arc I have decent tailgates on my El Camino and the Brookwood parts wagon. I will probably keep the better of the two. The Brookwood's gate is stuck shut, and i have'nt got around to opening it for closer inspection. I'm sure i can help you with the headlight buckets. I am around the Dfw Texas area Where are you located? I have lots of other parts, the wagon is complete, but kinda rough. I bought it for the perfect grille it had.
Ok... if you look @ 0.31 you see that the rear doors were shaved and sealed shut then painted with primer to you dont see the welds. This car is a 4 door station wagon that holds no value in current state. :)
@beemerman540 look close very very hard to turn this into a 2 door. Go to google and look at the difference between the 2 and 4 doors there not the same. My vin and trim # match to 2 door brookwood 6 cyl
I bet a barn find like that in New York was pretty exciting, as I hear anything outdoors over there will have disintegrated from rust by now.
Back to the engine, it looks pretty good considering it's been sitting for 15 years. Since it's a 'newer' engine, I assume there's not too many miles on it? If you don't think it's going to be a nightmare to resurrect, I say keep it. Otherwise I'd save up and throw in a nice big block, and you'll have a mighty fun car.
i got the same car 1959 2dr brookwood wagon !!!!!! there nice but the guy i bought mine from chopped the roof off n welded a camper shell on top lol so mines custom now topless all molded dropped with skirts n white walls. rat rod style
@bigblock348 will I know my cars very well. And I know everything about my 59 chevy bc it's my. Any popular ride from 55 to 75 is what am interested in. And your speaking motives are very poor old timer
IF you haven't found it yet, check out w. impalas.net - free group sight to join, and you'll have lots of folks who know these cars inside and out to help you with the restoration, and places to find parts! Nice car.. definately a relatively rare one - and I'd love to have it myself ! Good luck! ~ mitch.
WoW Its rare. I just sold my 59 sedan delivery last year. I had it for 10 yaers and sorry to see it go. I might have some parts still. Let me look around. Should have some trim and such.
Very nice,I will give you 2000.My Granma used to drive the Convertible Version.I was white with red interior, and it was a convertible.Dont sell without asking me.Marlo
wow sweet car 2 door wagons are some of the coolest rides ever . have you ever seen a 1961 plymouth 2 door wagon thats my fav but yours is pretty sexy thanx for showin it
@scomyo3 never saw one in person but very cool, these 2 door wagons are hard to come by. My fav is the 59 dodge wagon but finding a 2 door in that style is very hard they didnt make too many and also the 60 pontiac 2 door wagon
wow alot of the people commenting are asshole. do what you want as long as you dont put big rims on it, its awesome. all i know is i have to get a BUNCH of gauges for my car the gas gauge stopped working so i have to fix that but i need the ones that bolt under the dash so i know everything that goes on in my catalina. whats the bolt pattern for those rims on it? and the size?
@uberman145 There 15x7 off a 72 pontiac but I found the original data code 59 chevy rims 14x5 with copper white wall tires, they'll be on the wagon once am able to move it as the engine stalled on me.
The only thing that would not be original to the car is the sub and speaker box that's going in the back and the engine & trans.
@chevycamaro1976 sounds like you got your work schedule busy for this, eh? the reason i ask about the rims is im looking for new ones for my car it still has original hubcaps and i like those classic looking rims all i know is i need rims with a 5x5 bolt pattern. i'm subscribing so i can see the reults of all this work
@uberman145 they are 5x5 bolt pattern pontiac rims am not 100% sure if there the original ones for 72, I even have 3 of the hub caps that came with it.
@heavy71chevy Damn...what the hell is the problem with this guy wanting to return a car to it's original condition? I tend to mod them as well but there is nothing wrong with restorations.
i've had my 1959 2dr hardtop 283 fuelie car since 1975. have driven it at high speeds all those years and never had handling problems.i wonder how jr. johnson won the 1960 daytona 500 in his 59 if it handled so bad. that b s about the fins picking up the car is an old wives tale. pure bs

There's always a dickhead on utube, Late 50's(58-60) wagon were not treated as well as the wagons from 55-57. According to info online there's less than 5,000 left of these 59 wagons and am driving something cool and rare. DICK
Watch your knees getting in and out of that car...the wrap-around dashboard can get in the way for anybody that is relatively tall.
