@SoapfaceKillah Yes, it does beat you over the head with the message and it veers toward melodramatic, but the show's heart is in the right place. Better this than another show exhorting kids to consume abundantly and be extraordinarily wasteful.

I'm starting to think the same animators and voice actors who did Sailor Moon worked on Captain Planet. Animation has been done in Asia since I was born.

@DaFuckyouat Its possible Toei animation may have done the animation but rather unlikely. I know DIC actually got Shinji Aramaki to do the mecha designs for MASK.

@entityk14 Can you explain your conclusion, please. I fail to see how this is comparible to anime; I've seen anime from the 70s, 80s and 90s some even those targeted to the same age group that of Captain Planet's were able to do more mature storylines, show greater violence (including onscreen character deaths and blood), stronger language and suggestive content. If I were to pick a show here in the US that was closer to anime it would be Exo-Squad, since it drew inspiration from Gundam.

@Pegas105 I mean some of the character designs, and episodes like this one that have mechs. Also, the early Captain Planet episodes were produced by DIC, and they

would get Japanese animation companies to do their animating. And the jerky animation reminds me of anime and some of the special effects.
