  • I am so sad that I've never had the possibility to meet him before his death. I was just 11 years old then. I admired Marie-Claire Alain and André Isoir who where the teachers of my mother. But I wasn't aware that there where also people like Devernay, Lefebvre, Roth, Pincemaille, Mallié, Blanc or Houbart.

Devernay was certainly the most excentric, and he's the only one I've never heard live :-((

  • Amazing improvisation I keep watching and re watching all his videos. Just ordered the Mitra label recording he did at Notre Dame. Wish I could find his improvisation CD too. I keep going back to Devernay's videos.

  • Powerful & Fantastic

  • I love this. It is absolutely incredible, he begins with the "and he shall reign for ever and ever" theme from the famous Hallelujah Chorus, and then includes others. Wish it could be transcribed, it would be a popular Easter piece.

It is a terrible shame that Devernay had to pass away so early. If he was alive today, I'm convinced he would be one of the most highly sought after teachers and performers, along with Daniel Roth, and others of the like.

  • I keep coming back to Devernay's videos

  • L'inspiration à flots continus...et cet orgue fatigué mais si beau dans ces fulgurances.

    MERCI!!!!!!!!!

    Devernay we miss you!

  • L'orgue de Pierre Cochereau ...

Pas d'assistance informatique, des contacts capricieux, et pourtant....

    génial tout simplement!

  • Totally superb. Just love this to bits. Thanks for posting!

  • Devernay is so a genius, I am watching/hearing these videos almost for the 3-4th time.

BTW, at 3:35 I have the impression that for a very short time a chamade is blocked.

And, did you notice that in none of the videos he is using the 4th and 5th manual ? Perhaps when is so in trance, he uses his reflexes as he played more often St-Christophe in Tourcoing which has only 3 manuals ?

  • ''Notre-Dame de Cochereau'' was definatly THE ORGAN !! ... overall the 1990-2 restoration did it lost virtually apparently its ascendant voicing, but that is a thing we might never be able to witness unless we knew the organ in person before 1990.

  • wonderful how he includes the "O filii et filiae" theme towards the end!

  • Awesome!

  • So good ! ! !

  • Absolument GÉNIAL comme témoin vidéo !!! Merci mille fois lapetiteregale !!

  • Love it!!
