Jean-Martin Mbemba is a Congolese politician, humanitarian, and civil rights leader in Africa. This song is a tribute to him and his efforts. Basically Salif Keita is giving him a string of praises, so everyone saying it applies to a bunch of people on earth are quite wrong.
