@Jelboo Game like Elk is managed. Their numbers and habitat are known and hunting tags are issued based on the known population of the animal. If these animals were not harvested, in many places, they would overpopulate and starve to death. So what is more humane, buying a steak at the grocery store, or placing a perfect shot into your game for a freezer full of hormone-free, low fat, high protein goodness? Yes they are beautiful, and they make great jerky too.
