GT is great at every sport. We'll kick Uga and Miamis ASS next year for sure! (2010 Football Season) Good luck Yellow Jackets in the Orange Bowl! Beat Hawkeyes!! THWG!!!!!
if there's a clip of earlier in the game. when a GT incomplete pass was overturned to complete, Paul Johnson went up to the L ref who missed the call and gave him a smart ass smile and clapped in his face. That's the same ref who kept the clock running.
"Waaaaah, the unsportsmanlike conduct on AJ Green cost us the LSU game. Oh, shit, this guy's actually watched the game too, I better delete my comments."
The only way it would matter what field position they had is if Scott had been tackled right when he was crossing the goal line. THEN it would have mattered where he started from.
Without the penalty, all you have is a 48-yard touchdown run instead of a 33-yard touchdown run.
It cost you the game? Giving up the 40+ yard kick return and the 30+ yard touchdown run cost you the game.
In wrestling, if the ref says you're pinned when you aren't, you don't blame the ref for making a bad call. You blame yourself for getting on your back in the first place.
It was a shit call though, apparently not pretending you're in the middle of a stadium full of people is unsportsmanlike now.
Those refs got booed from the time the half ended until they went into the tunnel, and then again when they came back out. NO EXCUSE for officials this bad.
Refs did everything they could to help UNC win. That includes two BS block in the back calls on punt returns and an unbelievable unsportsmanlike conduct penalty when Nesbitt saluted after scoring the last TD. Worst officiating I've seen since GT-BC in 2007.
Ok, maybe he can be given a break on the out of bounds call. If I were a homer Tar Heel fan, I'd say his forward progress was stopped in the field of play. The 'run the clock' on the first down gain is horrible, no excuses!
Can someone please post the fall out of this, where CPJ is giving it to the head ref before half time???
There is no excuse for this level of incompetence by the refs. The "non" out of bounds was a pitiful judgment call. Not stopping the clock after a first down was either (1) blatantly not applying the rules or (2) it was done intentionally.
ha, that ref was scared shitless of paul

That running clock is ridiculous and that Line Judge should be reprimanded by the ACC.
