I have used aluminum roof flashing cut to fit inside the bowl, then "glued" it with RTV silicone. This spins at around 6000rpm, so make sure you get it nice and clean and you shouldn't have any out of balance problems. I only have to hold it while it is spinning down when it is full of gunk. It works great. I had 1/4" of grit and gunk on the inside last time I used it. That was about 20 gal of WMO run for 10-12 hours. No heat, about 20% gasoline added to cut down on the thickness of it.
would flex seal work to seal the holes?
