Don't get me wrong, I like the A380, I think it's a feat of engineering. But there is something about the 747, so sleek & slender in its design. So neat...
@DZEyoyo123 They changed the wings, changed the length of the fuselage, new control system, new engines. Essentially its a new place that looks and is in essence built like its older brother.
stall is caused by the lack of ability to keep airflow over the upper surface of the wing that creates lift. stalls can happen in multiple environments. the stall you see here is the result of reducing power and pulling the nose of the airplane up to maintain altitude. as the relative airflow over the top of the wing begins to separate, the wing can no longer hold the airplane in the air. the result is that the airplane pitches down and recaptures the speed of relative wind over the airfoil
I'm confused. I thought you stalled a plane by heading *up* too much, but the video clearly shows them stalling by heading down. Can someone help me out?
@shades9721 When you stall you fall down from the sky with the airplane. When you pull the nose down it gets speed so you can go out of the stall :) I think it was that we saw :)
@spirolura Even the Soviets used to show off their new aircraft at the Paris Air Show. That's the way it's always been. Boeing's new stuff is always showed off at Oshkosh. Granted it's not as big as Paris but it's better than nothing. Not to mention Paris is the place all the airlines go to look at new airlines and the militaries of different countries go to look at new military types. Paris is more of a trade show than an airshow
ugly

The A380 is just one ugly bird while the 747-8 is so elegant and graceful.

I don't know why they are doing different flight tests on that plane, the plane has the same aerodynamic characteristics as any other 747.

As great as the A380 is, it will never be as beautiful as the 747 line (which I believe is the milestone in aviation).

boeing did a great job upgrading the 747, i'd rather take this bird that has been tested for 30 years + than a380.
