  • Ain't my America is one of the best books I have ever read. Kuaffman's wit and smarts are perfectly suited to his telling of a lost American legacy on the right. Let's bring back the old right and do away with Neo conservatism forever.

  • I am a military brat and have a larger view of things. That said I think that the only real security we have from oppressive internationalists/globalists is power concentrated at the lowest level possible. Accordingly I am pro States Rights, the right to secede at any level, and a well armed populace. Think about how the Fed Gov is so oppressive. Now imagine that on a global scale.

  • "the right to secede at any level"

Including the individual level? The state, being a territorial monopoly, an involuntary association, cannot exist in such a situation, so that'd make you an anarchist, or "voluntaryist" as some prefer to be called. The view that all matters should be left to individuals or voluntary associations, and that the state should be abolished, is the core of anarchist philosophy (from the Greek words "an" and "arkhos", meaning no rulers, i.e. self rule/ownership).

  • Especially the individual level. It all comes down to what self-ownership actually means. I have no problem with governments only if one is permitted to secede from them at will.

  • This is an interesting concept to me. I am for localized authority, and certainly for decentralization of power. But, I am unconvinced of the success of such a system as you suggest. Is there any place you can direct me (book, magazine article, website, etc) where I can find information about such a system, or could you elucidate on this philosophy?

  • Thomas Jefferson would be a good place to start. I would recommend any of the writers on lewrockwell. Robert Nozick's Anarchy, State, and Utopia is another good work.

  • Neal Boortz a neocon? Negative.

  • He is a self-identified Neo-Libertarian. His Libertarianism is not my Libertarianism.

  • @steve0281 Hes a Neo-Con in a Libertarian outfit.

  • @bittergunowner12 He does hold some views that I don't agree with, I will grant you that.

  • @steve0281 Its not "libertarianism" at all its neocon ilk.

  • Economic Hitmen-

    SA,

Are the financiers, like Sorros, more of a danger to the Republic than the Islamic terrorist?

Thank you for your postings, they are always educational.

  • Which talk radio show/s did you used to listen to?

Coincidentally, Kauffman said "horror show" at the beginning and I'm wearing an Iced Earth shirt for the album "Horror Show." :) I was told that the main guy/founder in the band (guitarist) is a conservative.

I was planning on going to the library today, so I'll try to find that book!

  • ICED EARTH!!! \m/. Jonh Shaffer is the guitarist and founder of the band.
