I'd hate to say it, but if you ever become number one, you become a bit cocky. but without limits is way better, this movie blows and so does the acting.
Wow, does this bring back memories. I was an extra in this way back when. We shot at Husky Stadium in Seattle in August of '96. It wasn't a lot of fun, but an interesting experience.
Prefontaine the movie is more accurate then W/O limits. W/O limit's Munich race is Awesome and well put together-very exciting. It was dead on - you couldn't script this any better (it was how it actually played out)..
I really don't like 12-14 "I'm not thinking about making the team, I'm thinking about gold in Munich." We all know he was thinking about gold but the way he said it in this makes him sound cocky, arrogant, and a little asshole. Pre was a nice guy, very confident and he wouldn't say something in that way.
@wwwgotristancom a lot of runners look at the elite guys and are like damn hes amazing. but when the elites put off the cocky attitude the other guys start to think damn i want to beat him. thus competition gets tougher
pre was and still is the best distance runner in the world he would refuse to lose to anyone when he ran the way he wanted to no one could beat him. anyone that says otherwise does not know the limits no one broke them like pre
As much as it makes a good story, the fact that they are making him into an underdog hero is simply not true. Pre had talent coming out of his asshole.
Very funny. He was so tactically incapable that the only way he knew how to race was to run balls out the entire race. This worked in the US because he was so much more TALENTED than everyone else. On the world stage people just chuckled and then outkicked him in the last lap.
@EvolutionaryLoophole Pre had a 5 min mile as a high school freshman. He dropped it to 4.30 ish if im not mistaken in a year. Thats not all talent its alot of hard work too.

The shooting was an inside job...Abu Nidal was undoubtedly a Mossad agent. Practically every job he did benefited Israel.

He was trapped by Buren and could've easily taken third. But he was going for first, so he just shut down.

No. He ran the race like a punk.
