I loved the "TMNT: Turtles Forever" movie a lot. But my sole complaint is that they made the 80's turtles WAY too ridiculous. Okay, so they goofy, but not fricking retarded! And Shredder at least knew how to fight a little. Uncle Phil ftw!

However, the intro on those VHS episodes, for me at least, didn't have the full intro we have here.

O grew up in late 90's and early 00's but I never EVER watched those idiotic shows. I grew up with classics like these (TMNT, Goof Troop, Animaniacs, Duck Tales, etc.) And I'm glad I did. Now, sometimes, my classmates make fun of me for not knowing who Phineas and Ferb are, and I don't give a damn. At least my brains are not melted!

this is a Pizza that was made from and for this verry show, the recipie is given off in the 2nd season in 1 of the first 4 episodes. cant remember witch one it was in :(

This, along 80s kids shows as whole, was the biggest piece of shit ever shitted out of an asshole. I loved this in 1992 since the bad writing somehow resonated well with my three year old mindset, but today it's only watchable due nostaliga, and even then just for a few minutes. Your clearly missing the bigger picture. Basically back in the 80's/early 90's cartoons could have actual violence. Not gory and bloody but enough to get the message thru. Now when you compare today's toons with 80's you will notice the quality of the animation is much higher since everything was always hand drawn in every frame. Today everything is either CG or some form of computer generated picture. There are also TV ratings that limit what can't and can be shown

TV shows today are heavily restricted especially kids shows. Back then the rules were much more loose. Cartoons can have weapons, fighting, guns, heavy conflict, hell they even had smoking. Yeah the writing is always gonna be cheesy, but that's cause it has to be since it's directed to kids. The overall quality in a cartoon has drastically changed. It's a very true phrase and I tend to agree with "They just don't make them like they used to". And that's an unfortunate sad fact.

If you compare this TMNT to today's version, you'll actually notice that it was A LOT more censored back then than it is now (and this is 4Kids we're talking about when it comes to the recent show). Shows like Spider-Man and X-Men were HEAVILY censored in the 90s; Rarely did anybody really hit each other. While censorship for kids shows is still rather strict, it's much more lax today.

@ScorpionX1985 weapons? They changed the fuckin' nunjchucks to a grappling hook at one point. THE NUNCHUCKS. Not the katanas. Fighting - they never used their weapons to actually hit anyone that wasnt a robot. And finally, some countries pussied out and named it 'hero turtles'.

In conclusion, though i barely remember this show, i can safely say that the 2003 version is far superior. Stuff actually happened there.

Turtles ruled back in the day but the cartoon was a little soft. I started reading the comic and it was dark and cool and the characters were the same but with darker storylines to deal with. Still, the cartoon was more 'real' than the comic book.
