  • this is pretty darn cool!

  • "look mate, its not oket science" "um actually it is" not a quote from this!!

  • @vamsterr then why the fuck did you post that here?? dumb shit

  • @carlolover1 Is your name car-lolover1 or carlo- lover1? Oh and if your confused, "oket" was supposed to be "rocket" ,sorry for making you think to hard.

Also, ever herd of a "joke"? no? well go read a dictionary, It should be able to tell you what it is.

  • 65 poeples dont have dreams

  • i feel happy for em .....but just one thing . i think they need to brush there teeth more

  • mom: hey honey, how was school?

    kid: okay

mom: did u do anything fun?

kid: well not really... we just... built a mother F*CKING rocket

  • The chosen one will bring down the real new world order.

  • I ALMOST CRIED!!!! amazin video...!!!!!!

  • they are just........ amazing.

  • my cousin is part of this group! he is the first one to show up in the video and then in the classroom, he is the one in the orange shirt. thats my rocket scientic cousin Ian!

  • @KeKe00X ian is awezim :D i love that guy

  • @ArsenicxAnatomy Ian is my cousin. first cousin too.

  • Wow! 30 days to build a rocket with a sony vaio!? Next thing you know we have Space cars made by teens and well fly to the moon and mars in 30 minutes!

  • Ya, I'm 16, and I'm smart. Why wasn't I invited to build a rocket?

  • I want to participate !!!!!!!!!

  • Haha that happened on my birthday lol

  • It has Windows... The rocket is going to crash!

  • get your space garbage first

  • Shit this a sony ad! Bulshit..

  • its nice to see that people have dreams . thats life . :)

  • i just can say that: NOOOOBS

  • only rocket i thought of launching in highschool was my own. whats wrong with kids today?

  • what program are you guys designing it with?

  • this "hot chick" has room to grow it could go either way

  • shes not that hot, shes just alright, defintion: cute lol

  • inspirational

  • Is that KevJumba at 0:16 ?

  • so wait they already launched it right???

  • @gamboakid Unfortunately, no. They're on weather-hold at the moment.

  • @gamboakid Due to unforeseen weather delays pushing the launch outside of the permit window, our students had to refile for a new launch window. They are currently on track to launch July 22. Stay tuned!

  • @sonyelectronics What telemetry system did you put in it? Where can I get it?

  • congratulations guys

  • is it me or do i notice that acne and brillance comes hand in hand..i never had acne and i'm no rocket scientist.. =(

  • 30 days, that's insane!

  • October sky rip off

  • why do they all have acne?

  • @neoeros cause they're science geeks xP

  • With a MacBook Pro they could have done it in 15 days

  • @Hobbitstomper

Personally,I think it had something to do with experienced assistance and Sony/Intel money.

The true story behind October Sky had neither.

Foundational rocketry began LONG before computers.

Still,at least they're not lost in video games.

    -g

  • They all need some Proactiv or Clearisil, and quick! Kids and explosives--interesting combination.

  • something tells me, that those guys who claim not to have known that beautiful scientists exist, just haven't seen a science-class from the inside.

Science-Girls just aren't into wasting hours of their day with makeup, when they could use it to work on something that's important. And the choice between a new pair of tits and a new laptop or lab-equipment isn't a real choice for them either.

they just use their head more frequently then their tits to get what they want.

  • Love it.

More inspiration for engineering students like us :)

  • cool, thanks for recommending me a fucking sony commercial youtube. fucking cocks.

  • @griffonstink: Sony is doing a project to encourage young people to to science... Eventhough I agree with you on not wanting to see commercials, you gotta admit that considering the value of their project, they actually did a lot less advertising in that than expected.

Choose any recent TED-Talk and you get more advertisment in there than in this vid. Could have been a lot worse...

  • @griffonstink the kids learned so much on this project. Without Sony's help, none of this would have happened. It costs a lot of money to get a rocket off the ground. It's quite a process. The kids had so much to learn in such a short amount of time. Sony merely helped this happen.

  • that chicks hot!

  • nerds

  • I wish Romania education system was similar to US. Here it's all about theory theory THEORY ...!!!! and no actual practice at all :( I envy you guys :)) Best of luck with your projects

  • @MrBusinessHelper

Most people over here in the U.S. don't really get to practice. We learn a lot about theory too.

  • intresting !!! mmmmm

  • oh yeah, commercial!!!

  • Is there a site where I can see the rocket launch?

  • @plasticbarf it will be posted at the Rocket Maverick's website soon. The launch is 7/22/10- they'll post it asap...

  • What does this mean

  • what? wheres the hot chick

  • oh shit id bang her haha

  • overacted....sony seriusly if you want to sell something sell it for its quality ,dont sell us garbage thats gonna break in less than a year... of course this is a case of how to NOT build a rocket... you can do all the calculations in paper, you just need a calculator paper books and materials and the weather preview program(that is the only feature of this computer) is not a must...you can just check the meteorlogist webpage to calculate climate and winds...

  • @astarotcito so right.. did you watch the story of stuff too?

  • @zzzzhen yes amazing :D, if you founded interesting I highly recomed you to watch "zeitegist addendum'' its very similar stuffy you can find the full verson here on youtube

  • 1:23 tim tim tim tim tim timmehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • School is gay because you can't choose to do what you want, but these kids like what they are doing. I wish school was more like this.

  • @paintballfraser11 to get there, they went to school, retard.

  • @010arman010 ok

  • Oh please...I'm pretty sure 99% of the thinking is done by the old guy. The kids are just props. I'm pretty sure those kids don't even have an idea on how to program a guidance system or the use of advance machining equipments.

  • whoa whoa whoa.... a hot chick? thats an engineer? r u kidding me? i didn't think any existed

  • @stang4lyfe07 daam im with u on that one woot woot

  • @stang4lyfe07 you've clearly never seen mythbusters lol

  • @stang4lyfe07 there's a hot chick? did we watch the same video???

  • @stang4lyfe07 I see no hot chick definiton please

  • @stang4lyfe07 kinda hotter than most geek science girls... but not THAT hot.

  • @stang4lyfe07 they need something to do in space :)

  • @stang4lyfe07 Come to St. Johns Newfoundland, I know at least 6 personally. # are absolute ROCKETS !!!! WOW

  • @stang4lyfe07 Where is this hot chick you speak of? Everyone has terrible dental hygiene....wtf...

  • This is what education is all about. Applying the skills you learn in the classroom to an actual project. I'll tell you I would have done a lot better at math if I knew what I would be using it for. Now science is different. I've been doing backyard astronomy for 5 years now.

  • Hey guys good luck, we are watching the progress you guys can do it. No doubt!!!

  • I love this! Honestly! I love how SONY... I mean SONY, is making things come real for people. SONY though, the people with the PS3 and created video games!!! Video games even too mature for kids. I love the idea of make.believe!

  • @macfreak18 i know this page isn't for this, but atari created games... but i LOVE how sony is helping education, science, and technology with this project

  • I really hope these kids succeed but why do they only have 30 days?

  • these kids are doing something few of us have ever done. or will do. building and firing a rocket into space. possibly 68 miles up. in a record short period of time. as someone involved with this project i can honestly say it's one of the coolest things i've had a pleasure working on. and for those in support of it, thanks.

  • uh oh NASA is getting lazy now... highschool kids... good for them but..... LAZY NASA

  • I love to hear these kinds of stories like this, People always dreams to travel to the stars someday and someday they will reach the stars.

This is truly awesome i hope and pray that young and old people never give up their dreams in achieving something so great that will benefit all of man kind.

    I love rocket science.

  • This video has been entered into the 'Top 10 Technology Videos of the Week' battle at BattlingTube website.

  • They make such a big deal about how their laptops have more computing power than the Saturn V moon rocket! GUESS WHAT!?! So does my wristwatch!

  • Wait... these student are making a rocket? Are they building Sony laptops? I hope they get paid for being on TV, if not then what's the point. I would only do something if I wore to get paid.

  • @CasualLuxuries thats you. Wouldnt say ur a smart or dumb person. but silly to post something like that if ur not really meaning it. This is a serious theme.. Sure u joke about it .. but atlest make it look like a joke -.-

  • @Chrisariah1 No, I really want to know if they are building a rocket for the real deal and going to collect datas.

  • @CasualLuxuries you can do a search for "The Clotho Project" on the "Rocket Mavericks" website. It will tell you all about the data that's being collected during the launch.

  • Wait... these student are making a rocket? Are they building Sony laptops? I hope they get paid for being on TV, if not then what's the point. I would only do something if I wore to get paid.

  • okay

  • wow

  • Very Encouraging !

  • very encouraging

  • This is astounding! Congratulations to these talented students! <3

  • Tom Felton sent me here!! ohh their smart!! geez i wish i could build a rocket and go to mars :LL

  • @cutegal242 tom felton twitter FTW!!!

    =D

  • @alixstars bahaha thats how i found out about it as well

  • neat

  • its that important

  • paul pierce

  • the cheapest of cellphones has more computing power than the moon rocket, its not a big accomplishment, unlike these kid building the rocket witch is a great accomplishment

  • ez2c

  • that was nice it is interesting

  • movie movie movie

  • wow its interesting

  • did this for swag bucks:)

  • Don't people send toy rockets into the stratosphere already?

  • cool i did this for swagbucks

  • awesome

  • wow! im mad it said the sony vaio has more power or w.e then that spaceship lol

  • O_o

  • fucking marketing shit

  • Very cool

  • This is going to be very interesting.

  • nice video

  • movie looks intresting

  • This is pretty incredible

  • neat video

  • neat

  • that's so sick.

  • How when i look up insane clown posse does this come up???????????????

  • ....

  • looks cool

  • lol, this was already done in the 80s, sucessful one too, ethan hawke and river phoenix went to space on a rocket they made a was powered by a computer.

  • hate to break this too you, but i doubt these kids were thinking, im going to build a rocket.... BUT ON A SONY :-) no, they took the first funding they could get, they didnt give a damn on the fucking computer brand

  • tony1337007: Such a negative attitude. People experiment and learn new things constantly. From model rockets to real rockets, and who knows, maybe these kids will not go to space or work in the space program, but they will learn about propulsion systems, aerodynamics, computer control systems, and from these experiences they may learn new processes, they may take it to the next level, who knows! There is no telling where this may lead them.

  • well done

  • awesome

  • cool

  • wouldn't it be SO cool to go to space?!?!its like seeing your whole life!!!i'm so happy that Walter Riedel and Werner Von Braun made the first rockets!if it weren't for them we wouldn't know what was beyond everything...

  • @tony1337007

They're not NASA, you douchebag, they're high school students.

And it does say something that they were able to do this with commonly-available materials, for a high school class -- while we view this as "old" because we're Americans, we forget that 95% of other nations haven't even achieved this much.

And who knows? Some of these kids could go on to contribute to the next great achievement in space travel.

Instead of being an asshole, encourage and applaud them.

  • @GozerTheGozerian Well stated.

  • @GozerTheGozerian I agree I am a highschool student and a member of a number of High powered Rocket clubs but Ive never launched anything above 100,000 feet. But for someone my age to go to 368,000 feet... thats really something. it CAN be done, but its not easy. even the 20-100k rockets I build as an AeroPac member are difficult at times and they all have unique challenges. This Hobby and career is NOT for the faint of IQ. I belive I speak For all the High Powered Rocketeers out there.

  • @tony1337007 - Really? Would it be a waste of effort if they were able to take samples of the biosphere for research? Because that is the entire purpose of the Clotho Project.

  • This is great!!! catch my video "Honey to the moon" on favorite martinmary555

  • Why does everyone have to be so negative?

They build rockets to send stuff into space and this just gives high school students who may want to do something similar a chance to try it.

Go get a life instead of making fun of or putting down high schoolers who are excited about something.

  • @Giggleburger If u dont know why ppl are negative - U lack imagineation :) just saying hehe ^^

  • Hello everyone. To whom it may concern I would like to say I have a new song on my channel and ask you to hear it. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

    God bless you.

  • God fuck you

  • ...And your not?!!!

  • this almost made me cry..

  • Im jealous of these 8 students im a junior in high school and i would love the opportunity to work in something like this

  • Keep dreaming guys!

  • Hell, I can build 1 myself so easy

  • guess they didnt chose me for the hero kid xD

eh oh well, i'll hav more chances

  • Yeah you the beest

  • I can build one my self.

  • This is a great support program.

  • Great project !! Educate and motivate the young. And give them the chance to do it.

  • It's nice that companies give our up and coming youth such wonderful opportunities......

  • Free your mind and your ego and you will reach height beyond your imagination.

  • By the way nice name, your a funny guy

  • lol

  • Yehhh haha I dnt think soo cuz fucken every 1 dnt care bout nuthin there just inside playing call of duty all day long

  • I'd much rather see kids save the environment instead of promoting consumerism as a means of expanding their egos.
